Lu Cheneng and Wen Shifei, under cover of darkness, journeyed through the ruins of the Silent Zone. Once one of Sky City's most prosperous districts, it was now desolate. Moonlight filtered through the shattered buildings, casting dappled shadows and adding a touch of eeriness to their progress.
"Lu Chenheng, are you sure the lighthouse is safe?" Wen Shifei asked softly, her voice exceptionally gentle in the night breeze. Lu Chenheng nodded, his eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly. "That's our last stronghold. With Ajie and the others guarding it, it should be relatively secure."
Wen Shifei smiled faintly. "Although Ajie is usually careless, he's still reliable in critical moments." Lu Chensheng also laughed, but his smile was soon interrupted by a low, muffled sound. The two of them looked at each other, quickly crouched, and hid behind an abandoned metal box.
Not far away, a Black Snake Gang patrol slowly passed by. Leading the charge was none other than Marcus, the man they'd fought previously. His massive figure looked particularly menacing in the moonlight, the scar on his face flickering in the light and shadow. The patrol's footsteps were chaotic and heavy, accompanied by the resounding clink of metal as they gradually receded into the distance.
Lu Chenheng and Wen Shifei's tense bodies gradually relaxed. They smiled at each other and continued on their way. Finally, amidst the ruins, a faint light came into view. It was the direction of the lighthouse. Although faint, it was like a beacon in the darkness, giving them hope.
"We're almost there," Lu Chensheng said softly, his voice a little tired but more determined. Wen Shifei nodded and quickened his pace.
However, just as they were about to reach the lighthouse, they heard hurried footsteps from behind. Lu Cheneng and Wen Shifei quickly turned around and saw Marcus and a group of Black Snake Gang members rushing towards them.
"Damn it, how come they caught up so quickly!" Wen Shifei cursed softly, quickly grabbed Lu Chenshang's hand, and ran towards the lighthouse.
Marcus roared, "Don't let them escape!"
The Black Snake Gang members rushed forward like wolves and tigers. Lu Chensheng and Wen Shifei shuttled through the ruins, dodging attacks from all sides. Lu Chensheng's shoulder wound opened again, blood staining his clothes, but his eyes remained firm.
"Hurry into the lighthouse!" Wen Shifei shouted anxiously.
The two finally rushed to the back door of the lighthouse. Lu Chen entropy quickly entered the password, and the door opened. They rushed into the lighthouse, followed closely by the Black Snake Gang's pursuers.
"Close the door quickly!" Lu Chensheng panted, turned around and held the door tightly.
Wen Shifei quickly pressed the control button, and the heavy metal door slammed shut, blocking the Black Snake Gang members out. Marcus slammed against the door and roared angrily, "You can't escape!"
The light inside the lighthouse came on, and Ajie and the other allies quickly gathered around. Seeing Lu Chentang and Wen Shifei return safely, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Ajie ran over and looked at Lu Chentang's injuries with concern: "Your injury needs to be treated again."
Lu Chensheng waved his hand: "Let's talk business first. The Black Snake Gang is coming with great force, we have to think of a solution quickly."
Applejack nodded and turned to the others: "Everyone, hold your ground first and check your weapons and defenses. We must be prepared for a long battle."
Lu Chenshang and Wen Shifei were taken to the medical room, where Ajie personally re-bandaged Lu Chenshang's wounds. Wen Shifei assisted him, her eyes filled with concern.
"What exactly did you encounter when you went out this time?" Ajie asked softly, with a hint of fatigue in his voice.
Lu Chenheng was silent for a moment, but eventually recounted his entire trip in detail, from the abandoned hospital in the old city, to the fierce battles with the Black Snake Gang, and finally, their narrow escape. Wen Shifei would occasionally add a few words, and everyone listened with trepidation.
After hearing this, Ajie was silent for a long time. He knew that this battle had completely changed the fate of all of them. The lighthouse was no longer just a hiding place, but a frontier in the resistance against the tycoons.
"We must be prepared." Ajie finally broke the silence. "The Black Snake Gang won't give up, and the chaebol's power will make a comeback. We need a stronger force and a more solid defense."
Lu Cheneng nodded: "I agree. Moreover, we need more allies. Not everyone is willing to be controlled by the chaebol. We need to find those who are awakened and let them join us."
Wen Shifei also nodded in agreement: "Yes, the secret of the 'Zero' plan cannot be borne by us alone. We need more people to fight against the chaebol together."
Ajie pondered for a moment, then suddenly looked up at Lu Chencheng: "How is your sister Lu Qingyi now?"
Lu Chen's eyes dimmed instantly: "She is still in a coma, we don't know when she will wake up."
Ajie sighed, "She may be the key to our cracking the chaebol's conspiracy. I hope she wakes up soon."
At this moment, the door to the medical room was gently pushed open, and Lu Qingyi's assistant Xiaolin walked in. There was a hint of panic in her eyes: "Oh no, Lu Qingyi...she suddenly had a high fever."
Everyone's heart instantly jumped into their throat. Lu Chenhang suddenly stood up, ignoring the pain in his shoulder, and rushed to Lu Qingyi's ward. Wen Shifei and Ajie followed closely behind, and Xiaolin also hurried to catch up.
Inside the ward, Lu Qingyi's face was as pale as paper, her forehead covered in sweat. Her body twitched slightly, clearly in agony from the high fever. The medical equipment's rapid alarms filled the room with a tense atmosphere.
Lu Chenheng leaned over Lu Qingyi's bed and gently stroked her forehead: "Qingyi, hold on, I will save you."
