She pointed forcefully toward the large hole blasted open at the rear of the train car—there lay a deeper, maze-like ruin composed of giant concrete blocks and twisted steel! It was also the only possible direction to escape the pursuers!

"Stop them! Don't let the target get away!" An exasperated roar came from the Black Snake militants! More firepower instantly turned towards the direction where Lao Li and Lu Chen's escape!
"I'm your opponent!" Wen Shifei screamed! She dragged her pierced right leg, enduring the excruciating pain as she tumbled out of the hole in the carriage! The moment she landed, she rolled, dodging a barrage of energy beams, the pulse rifle in her hand spewing out angry flames again! Like a she-wolf cornered, she used every available wreckage as cover, frantically attracting and drawing the enemy's fire!
Bullets and energy beams whizzed past her, sending shards of gravel and metal slicing through her cheeks and arms. Every movement felt like dancing on the edge of a knife. The wound on her left shoulder ripped open from the recoil of the continuous fire, staining half her body red with blood. But a mad glint burned in her eyes as she remained rooted to the spot, buying every second for the two figures disappearing into the depths of the ruins!
At this moment, a heavier and more heart-pounding metallic roar came from the direction of the Black Snake armored truck!
A "Giant Lizard" II heavy assault mech, coated in a black snake paint scheme and even larger and more ferocious than the "Scavenger," trudged forward with heavy steps, crushing over rubble and the wreckage of abandoned vehicles. Like a moving steel fortress, it appeared at the edge of the battlefield with a roar! The thick armor plating on its shoulders slid aside, revealing a multi-rocket launcher. At the end of its sturdy mechanical arm, a massive alloy ram flashed with a cold light!
The composite sensor on the head of the "Monitor Lizard" flashed with scarlet light, and instantly locked onto Wen Shifei, who was resisting tenaciously in the ruins and bunkers, like an isolated island!
"Kill her!" The cold voice of the Black Snake commander came through the loudspeaker.
The heavy body of the "Monitor" slightly adjusted its direction, and the rocket launch pod on its shoulder instantly charged! A deadly red light lit up at the launch port!
Wen Shifei's heart suddenly stopped! She could clearly feel the death gaze from the heavy mecha! Despair instantly wrapped around her body like a cold vine! She subconsciously looked in the direction where Lao Li and Lu Chenentang disappeared - they hadn't gotten far! The rockets were covering...

Almost at the same moment, Lu Cheneng pounced on Wen Shifei and pressed her tightly under him!
The rocket on the shoulder of the "Monitor Lizard" slammed into the place where Wen Shifei was a second ago with a sharp scream that tore through the air!
A devastating explosion! Raging flames and gusts of air instantly engulfed the broken wall! Scorching hot gravel and deadly metal fragments rained down in all directions!
Wen Shifei was completely covered and protected by Lu Chensheng's heavy body. The immense force of the impact made her vision go black, leaving only a sharp buzzing in her ears! She could clearly feel Lu Chensheng's body trembling violently under the impact of the explosion! A warm liquid, with a strong rusty smell, suddenly splashed onto her neck and cheeks!
It's not her blood!
"Ugh..." An extremely suppressed groan of pain, as if squeezed from deep in the chest, came out of Lu Chensheng's throat as he pressed on her.
The smoke and flames from the explosion have not yet dissipated.
Wen Shifei turned her head with difficulty and saw Lu Chenshang's face close to her through the thick smoke.
His face was as pale as paper, his brow furrowed in intense pain. Blood oozed again from the wound on his forehead. But the most shocking thing was that a sharp, twisted, palm-sized grenade fragment, like a ferocious fang, had embedded itself deeply below his right shoulder blade! Blood was rapidly spreading from the wound, staining his old coat, the glaring red color spreading ever wider!
