"What's going on?!" General Raymond turned around suddenly, his eyes as sharp as knives.
Dr. Owen's face turned pale. "No... I don't know! The resonance suddenly intensified! It's... it's Colonel Xu Shuangyao! Her consciousness is fluctuating! She's unconsciously... absorbing that light! Forcing a deeper connection! Lin Mo's body simply can't withstand this intensity of the origin resonance!"
Inside the life support chamber, Lin Mo's body began to convulse violently! The repair fluid was boiling! Abnormal dark red lines appeared on the surface of his skin, as if flames were burning through him from the inside! The pipes connected to his body sounded an alarm of being overwhelmed!
"Shuang girl! Stop! Stop now!" Dr. Owen screamed at Xu Shuangyao's life support chamber, but Xu Shuangyao seemed trapped in some kind of mental vortex of intense pain. She clutched her head, her icy blue eyes tightly shut, her body trembling violently, her mind completely absorbed in the agonizing struggle with Pei Du and the pull of that light before annihilation, deaf to the cries of the outside world. Her unconscious, soul-driven absorption was pushing Lin Mo to the brink of destruction!
"Cut off the connection! Physically isolate!" General Raymond made a prompt decision and spoke in a firm voice.
"No!" Dr. Owen cried in despair. "Their energy fields and consciousness fluctuations are deeply entangled through that 'light bridge'! If we forcibly cut them off, the core consciousness of both of them may collapse instantly! Especially Lin Mo, he is now relying on the remnants of Major General Pei Du's will to stay alive!"
"What should we do?! Are we going to watch him burn alive?" Raymond growled, his eyes bloodshot. The fire they had brought back at such a cost, was it going to be extinguished the moment he woke up?

On the main bridge screen, the vast, dark cosmic backdrop of the Ark's exterior was ripped apart! Ten enormous warships, resembling the skeletons of deep-sea beasts, streamed with ominous streams of dark purple energy, as if they had "squeezed" directly from the void! They formed a perfect encirclement formation, their massive bow gun muzzles flashing with a destructive purple light, having clearly just completed a salvo!
"The entropy barrier is overloaded! The energy core output power has reached its limit! Shield strength: 18%! And still decreasing!" The bridge operator's voice was hoarse with despair.
Another massive tremor erupted! The Ark, like a lone ship in a raging sea, groaned even more painfully from its hull! Outside the observation window, the massive golden shield protecting the Ark, composed of countless hexagonal energy cells—the "Entropy Barrier"—dimmed, shattered, and vanished like metal corroded by strong acid under the relentless bombardment of the dark purple annihilation beams! A deep light, like the gaze of death, penetrated the increasingly thin shield and illuminated every pale face within the bridge.
"Report damage!" General Raymond's voice was like tempered steel, instantly suppressing the panic within the bridge. His burly figure stood before the main console, his eyes sharp as a hawk, fixed on the screen as the ten massive ships emanating the aura of death.
"The A7 to A12 armor sections have suffered penetrating damage! The external weapon platforms 'Eagle's Nest-3' and 'Eagle's Nest-7' are completely destroyed! Internal air pressure leak! Casualties... the casualties are being counted!" The adjutant's voice trembled uncontrollably.
"General! The shield is about to collapse! The next round of volleys... we can't hold on!" The officer in charge of the shield system screamed, sweat soaking the back of his uniform.
Raymond's fingers dug deep into the edge of the alloy console, his knuckles turning white from the strain. "The Observer... arrived too quickly! With terrifying precision!" Clearly, the energy fluctuations unleashed by Xu Shuangyao's loss of control served as a beacon in the darkness, guiding these hunters in the right direction.
"All active warships! No matter the cost! Engage them! Buy the Ark time to maneuver! Main engine power to 120%! Emergency evasive sequence initiated! Coordinates—direction of the Sea of Entropy rift!" Raymond's voice boomed like thunder. The only way to survive now was to utilize the Ark's massive size and remaining power to forcibly penetrate the chaotic spacetime region outside the Sea of Entropy rift! That was a zone even observers wouldn't dare venture into!
The order was given instantly! From the massive main engine jets at the rear of the Ark erupted an unprecedented blue flame, propelling the battered steel behemoth into a clumsy, difficult turn! Simultaneously, the remaining frigates surrounding the Ark—those battered Insight-class warships—like moths to a flame, relentlessly launched a desperate charge against the Deep Hunter fleet, which outnumbered them tenfold! Energy beams and missile trails instantly intertwined into a gruesome web of light!
