"Qingyi!" Beacon was also pushed back several steps by the sudden explosion, and looked in horror at the girl in the center of the storm with wildly dancing hair and eyes emitting dazzling silver-white light!
The storm had come and gone swiftly. The silvery light in Lu Qingyi's eyes dimmed, and she collapsed, only to be quickly caught by Xin Beacon. Meanwhile, the source of the storm—Lu Cheneng—was charred and smoldering, lying in a pool of blood like a broken doll. His vital signs were almost nonexistent, and only the raging energy within him continued to surge uncontrollably, emitting crackling explosions as if ready to shatter him at any moment!
"Take them away! Quickly!" Beacon shouted the order! The surviving commandos immediately lifted up the dying Lu Chentang and the unconscious Lu Qingyi and ran desperately towards the evacuation passage!
As Xin Zhuo, carrying the seriously injured and unconscious Lu Cheneng and Lu Qingyi, along with Wen Shifei, who was still unconscious due to severe mental trauma and was carried by his teammates, rushed out of the Tianshu Building and boarded the armored hovercraft, Lu Qiming's furious roar and the sound of more intense gunfire could be heard from behind! But they had already rushed into the intricate steel jungle of the lower city like an arrow from a bow!
Inside the car, the atmosphere was extremely tense. Medical personnel raced against time to provide emergency life support for Lu Cheneng. His body was charred black, with multiple wounds deep enough to reveal the bone. Most fatally, the violent, self-destructive energy turbulence within his body and the complete overload damage to the chip within his brain were the most fatal. The curve on the vital monitor rose and fell faintly, threatening to become a straight line at any moment.
Wen Shifei was lying beside her. Although the magic blade was still trying to stabilize her condition, the damage to her consciousness caused by forcibly resisting Lu Qiming's mental shock made her still unconscious.
Lu Qingyi curled up in the corner, hugging her knees, her body trembling, her eyes empty, and she murmured unconsciously: "Brother... I'm sorry... It's me... I hurt you..."
Beacon looked at the three wounded warriors, fists clenched. The operation was successful, but the cost was...too heavy.
The armored vehicle broke through the rain and finally reached the hidden entrance of the "Lighthouse" again. When the gate opened and warm light and fresh air rushed in, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
At the Lighthouse's state-of-the-art medical center, Lu Cheneng was admitted to a multifunctional repair chamber. The "doctor" examined the monitoring data, frowning. "The physical trauma can be repaired, but the energy turbulence within his body is... too violent. The repair chamber's energy suppression field can only slow it down, not eliminate it. Even more problematic is the core of his brain chip... which is severely damaged, continuously releasing chaotic neural impulses... like a time bomb."
"Is there no other way?" Beacon asked in a deep voice.
"Yes... but the risk is extremely high." The doctor pointed to the magic blade placed beside the repair cabin. "This blade... seems to be able to absorb and stabilize that energy. Perhaps... we can try to use it as a medium to guide and channel the turbulent flow in his body. But this requires extremely precise operation and a deep understanding of energy... Only one person can possibly do it..."
Everyone's eyes fell on Wen Shifei, who had just woken up and whose face was still as pale as paper. She ignored all dissuasion and insisted on coming to the medical room.
"I'll do it." Wen Shifei's voice was weak but resolute. She walked to the repair cabin and looked at her lover, charred and shattered, tortured by the energy. Tears silently flowed down her face. She reached out and gently stroked the cold hatch, as if she could feel his pain.
"Shi Fei, your condition..." Beacon said worriedly.
"I'm fine." Wen Shifei wiped away her tears, her eyes becoming extremely focused and sharp, "He blocked the bullet for me... Now, it's my turn to save him." She picked up the magic blade, feeling the familiar pulse from the hilt and the call of the violent energy in Lu Chenen's body.
With the assistance of a "healer" and an energy expert, Wen Shifei began this energy-draining surgery, a race against death. She gently placed the tip of the magic blade against the energy conduction port in the repair chamber, closed her eyes, and focused her mind, guiding the blue energy within her body, which had been smoothed and controlled by the magic blade, carefully probing into Lu Chen'en's scorched meridians.
It was a dance on the edge of a knife! Her consciousness, like the most sophisticated probe, sought a relatively calm "path" within the raging energy storm, guiding the destructive turbulence within Lu Chenen's body, strand by strand, into the Demonic Blade. The Demonic Blade's dark blade shone, absorbing this deadly energy like a bottomless pit. A fine layer of cold sweat oozed from Wen Shifei's forehead, and her body trembled slightly. Every moment of guidance felt like walking on a tightrope. A single mistake would instantly reduce Lu Chenen to ash, and she herself would be completely engulfed by the backlashing energy!
Time ticked by. Inside the repair chamber, the arcs of energy pulsing across Lu Chenen's body weakened and vanished at a tangible speed. Beneath his charred skin, new granulations slowly grew under the influence of the repair fluid. Most crucially, the chaotic pulses released by the chip within his brain finally subsided after the Demon Blade absorbed most of the overloaded energy.
Several hours later, Wen Shifei collapsed, seemingly exhausted, and was supported by Xin Beacon. Inside the repair chamber, Lu Chenent's vital signs finally stabilized. Though still severely injured and unconscious, the Demon Blade had absorbed over 90% of the violent, self-destructive energy. The repair chamber was more than capable of handling the rest.
"He... survived." The doctor looked at the monitoring data and breathed a sigh of relief.
Wen Shifei looked at Lu Cheneng, whose breathing had stabilized in the cabin, and smiled with tears in his eyes, as if he had survived a disaster.
A few days later, Lu Cheneng slowly opened his eyes in the repair fluid. What he saw was Wen Shifei's exhausted face, lying on the side of the repair cabin, her hand still loosely covering his through the hatch. A warm feeling welled up in his heart.
