Chapter 89: Star Tomb

The message abruptly stopped! The emerald green light in Xu Shuangyao's chest completely extinguished! The last remaining force holding her life was gone! The Plant Network (Gaia's Spirit), the planet's guardian, completely burned the last of its existence to secure this moment of respite and to pass on this last hope!

"Gaia...!" Xu Shuangyao, in the excruciating pain of a torrent of consciousness, sensed the complete dissipation of that warm will, and a silent wail emanated from the depths of his soul! The giant emerald green eye shadow also fluctuated violently, and the light dimmed a little!

And above their heads, the starship had re-condensed an even more terrifying cluster of pale light beams, which were like the spear of judgment and were about to fall down!

The last trace of hesitation in Pei Du's eyes was replaced by icy determination! He stood up suddenly, and raised his right arm, covered with black cracks, again! But this time, his target was not the starship in the sky, but... Xu Shuangyao, who was suspended in the air and enduring pain!

"Using stardust as a guide... using thorns as a bridge..." Pei Du's voice, deep and hoarse, with the texture of metallic friction, rasped out from his lips. Every syllable caused ripples of order in the surrounding space. The remaining dark golden lines of order on his right arm lit up wildly. He struggled to resist the spread of black cracks, his fingertips pointed at Xu Shuangyao.

"Resonance... Covenant... Eye!"

Buzz!

An extremely slender, yet extremely condensed dark golden stardust beam, like a bridge across the void, instantly shot out from Pei Du's fingertips and accurately penetrated the center of the pupil of the huge emerald green eye shadow floating behind Xu Shuangyao!

It's like a key fitting into a lock!

boom--!!!

The phantom of the emerald green eyes suddenly trembled! The originally gentle life-light waves instantly became condensed and sharp! The outline of Gaia, reflected in the depths of the pupil, erupted with unprecedented brilliance! A destructive beam of indescribable color, containing the final wrath and protective power of the planet's will, mixed with the power of the stardust rules injected by Pei Du, rose up against the sky like the wrath of Gaia awakening, and slammed into the pale cluster of light beams pouring down from above!

laugh--!!!!

No explosion! Only annihilation!

The moment Gaia's wrath beams collided with the pale decomposition beams, a blinding, blinding light erupted from the interface! Space twisted and shattered like fragile glass! A silent storm of annihilation swept across, devouring everything in its path!

As the bright light slowly faded, the pale cluster of light beams overhead… vanished! As if they had never appeared! The beams of Gaia's Wrath also exhausted their power. The giant emerald green eye shadow became extremely dim and transparent, as if it would dissipate at any moment. Xu Shuangyao, suspended in the beam of light, fell limply.

Pei Du endured the agony of backlash and contamination, his massive stardust right arm (cracks now spreading to the shoulder) thrust out, catching the falling Xu Shuangyao. She landed in his cold, stardust-thorned arms, her eyes closed, her face pale as paper, her breath nearly gone. Only a faint emerald green mark flickered between her brows, like a candle in the wind.

"The interference source is exhausted! The target 'Living Key' and 'Covenant Fragment' are in extremely weak condition! Execute the final recovery order: Drop the 'Status Coffin'! Ground forces, assault!" The starship's electronic broadcast was still cold, with a hint of anger after being provoked by an ant.

Like poisonous bees leaving their nest, several small, streamlined black assault boats catapulted from the belly of the massive starship. With a piercing sound, they pierced through the turbulent energy that had not yet dissipated and swooped down towards the positions of Pei Du and Xu Shuangyao below! At the same time, several massive, coffin-like black metal boxes (stasis coffins) were precisely hurled towards the stone tablet and Pei Du's position!

A truly desperate situation! Gaia's protective light has been extinguished, Pei Du is seriously injured and on the verge of collapse, Xu Shuangyao's life or death is unknown, and the ruthless Gravekeeper Fleet has revealed its final claws!

Pei Du held Xu Shuangyao, whose breath was weak, in his arms. His stardust eyes swept over the swooping assault boat and the stagnation coffin that was whistling down. In the center of the stardust vortex wrapped in dark purple pollution in his left eye, that unyielding starlight, like a star that was about to go out, burst out with the last and craziest... light!

The shriek of destruction shattered the brief silence. Like venomous bees swooping down, their engine jets trailing azure flames, they swooped down with a piercing sound. They deftly dodged the turbulent vortex left by the energy annihilation. Beneath the cold weapon racks, high-energy pulse gun muzzles flashed, locking onto their targets. At the same time, several massive, metal-like "stasis coffins"—with a muffled roar—pelted down with the precision of meteorites, crashing down upon Pei Du, Xu Shuangyao, and the ancient stone tablet!

A truly desperate situation is like an icy iron clamp tightly gripping your throat.

Pei Du held Xu Shuangyao, who was dying and looked like a broken doll, in his arms. There was no expression on his face covered with stardust thorns, except for the stardust vortex in his left eye that was madly eroded by dark purple pollution. At the center of the starlight was an unyielding star, like a star about to be swallowed by darkness, suddenly bursting out the last and craziest light!

That was not the light of attack, but... the light of burning!

"Using...thorns...for firewood..." A low, hoarse voice, a hissing sound like gravel and metal shards rubbing against each other in his throat, was squeezed out from between his teeth. Each syllable carried the pain of flesh being torn apart, yet contained a resolve to perish together with his enemies!

He suddenly lowered his head, and his right arm, which was covered with black cracks and almost collapsed, no longer pointed at the enemy. Instead, he pressed it hard and with a sacrificial gesture against his left chest - the area where the stardust thorns were deeply embedded and overlapped with his heart!
