Her gaze swept over the tiny wound on the outside of his right leg, punctured by poison ivy threads—a tiny, dark-golden sheen of blood oozed from it, appearing eerily in the dim green light. A complex mix of emotions flashed in her eyes: greed, fear, and even... an indescribable sense of shock, as if some suspicion had been confirmed.
"So... disgustingly stubborn." Her hoarse voice broke the silence, carrying a hint of subtle fatigue, but more of a cold control. "Like a smelly, hard piece of star core residue."
Her gaze, like a precise scalpel, finally landed on Xu Shuangyao, who was protected tightly behind Pei Du. The hidden greed in her dark green eyes reappeared, becoming incredibly clear and intense.
"However," Qing Man changed the subject, her lips curling up once again in that cold arc, a condescending gesture of almsgiving and... a deal that couldn't be refused. "I've changed my mind. Completely ruining myself here for this 'key' would be the most foolish choice, both for you and for me."
