At the end of Pandora's Abyss, Lu Chenenteng exchanged self-annihilation for formatting.
He survived, but he had forgotten everything.
Wen Shifei took him away from the collapsed laboratory, but encountered the final counterattack of the Black Snake Financial Group on the edge of the downtown area.
"Don't worry about me! Take him away!" Wen Shifei pushed the amnesiac Lu Cheneng into the depths of the ruins.
As Black Snake's mecha rolled through the street, Lu Chenen's empty eyes swept across the battlefield.
The next second, he subconsciously threw himself at Wen Shifei and used his body to block a fatal grenade fragment.
"Why..." Wen Shifei looked at him bleeding profusely, her voice trembling.
Lu Cheneng stared blankly at her blood-stained face and uttered only a few words: "Instinct... is very noisy."
Deep in the ruins, Wen Shifei finally opened the data ball of Wen Yuan's consciousness.
A line of cold text popped up on the screen: [The consciousness core has locked onto the Pandora main server]
Although the mother body of "Zero" is dead, Wen Yuan's consciousness is imprisoned in the last fortress.
Lu Chen entropy looked at the light of the data ball and suddenly pressed his head, which was in great pain. "Wen... Yuan?"
The faint light of "fireflies" lit up again in the collapsed ruins.
The steel door of Pandora Laboratory slowly opened in front of Wen Shifei.
Behind the door is endless darkness and my brother's final call.
"It's dark in there," Lu Chen's voice rang out from behind her. "I'll go with you."
The collapse at the bottom of Pandora Labs was like a countdown to hell. Like the carcass of a giant beast, its soul drained, the massive liquid metal container collapsed inward with a deafening sound of metallic tearing. Fragments of solidified silver-gray metal, broken cables, and the shattering, scattering parts of the internal structure, mixed with scorching steam and acrid chemical fumes, descended like black hail. The entire platform shook and tilted violently, as if it would completely disintegrate in the next second, plummeting into the bottomless darkness below.
The blast slammed Wen Shifei into a pile of loose cables at the edge of the platform, sending a sharp pain through her body like an electric current. The wound on her left shoulder ripped open again, and the penetrating wound on her right leg sent a piercing pain. She choked and coughed, each breath carrying the sweet, fishy aroma of gunpowder and rust. But all her senses seemed muted, except for her eyes, which stared intently, unfocused, at the slowly drifting, faintly shimmering dust in the center of the platform.
The last trace of Lu Chenent's existence.
His last silent word "go" was like a red-hot iron, deeply engraved in the deepest part of her soul, bringing a nearly suffocating empty pain.
"……Walk……"
A hoarse sound like sandpaper rubbing against each other sounded in her ears with difficulty, carrying the urgency of a dying struggle.
Wen Shifei shuddered violently, as if struck by an electric current! Her scattered gaze instantly focused, and her heart pounded wildly and heavily against her ribs in her chest! She practically rolled and crawled, desperately rushing towards the source of the sound—the gap between the cold, broken pipes and cables at the edge of the platform!
A hand, thick with dust, oil, and blackened blood, trembled and vainly tried to grasp a slippery metal pipe. Then, a thin, grimy, and scratched figure struggled to crawl out of the grave of industrial debris, bit by bit. His movements were clumsy and weak, and every movement was accompanied by violent coughs and painful spasms, as if he would collapse from exhaustion at any moment.
"Lu Cheneng!"
Wen Shifei's voice tore through her throat, filled with tears and unbelievable ecstasy! She rushed over, using all her strength to grab his cold wrists and armpits with both hands, and dragged him out from under the heavy pile of death cables!
He fell heavily onto the metal floor beside her, curled up, and coughed heart-wrenchingly. Every cough strained the wounds all over his body, and his body twitched violently. Wen Shifei, ignoring her own pain, knelt beside him, and with trembling fingers, carelessly brushed away the thick dust and blood on his face, revealing a face so pale that it was completely bloodless.
His eyes finally opened.
It is no longer the icy electronic blue, nor the desperate and sad black of blood and tears.
Those were a pair of… blank, empty eyes, like a newborn baby's. Deep within their pupils reflected the constantly collapsing metal fragments and the thick smoke above, yet there was no emotion at all, only the immense exhaustion and bottomless confusion of someone who had survived a catastrophe.
He looked at Wen Shifei, who was kneeling beside him, tears streaming down her face and covered in blood. Her empty eyes held no trace of familiarity, only a pure, alienated strangeness. His dry lips moved a few times, his Adam's apple rolling with difficulty, and finally, a weak, hoarse voice uttered, as if it came from a distant shore, exhausted from all his strength:
"……Who are you?"
The ecstasy on Wen Shifei's face froze instantly.
My heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible hand, and then suddenly sank into a bottomless ice cave.
“BOOM——!!!”
An even more violent explosion echoed from deep within the platform! The primary load-bearing structure supporting one corner of the platform finally gave way, emitting a teeth-grinding metallic groan. A large section of the platform's edge, along with the wreckage of the equipment atop it, broke and collapsed! A scorching blast of air swept in, carrying deadly debris with it!
"Walk!!!"
The instinct for survival overwhelmed the icy despair that instantly overwhelmed her! Wen Shifei let out a beast-like roar, her eyes gleaming with desperation! She suddenly leaned over, using all her remaining strength to violently pull Lu Cheneng, who was curled up on the ground with a dazed look in his eyes, to her feet. She practically half-dragged, half-carried him, placing his heavy body on her equally scarred shoulders!
