Lu Chen entropy used his burning mithril fist to withstand the Executioner's fire, but the price he paid was complete loss of consciousness.
Wen Shifei dragged Ajie into the crevice of the garbage mountain and witnessed the executioner dragging Lu Cheneng into the core of the hive.
Zero protected Qingyi at the edge of the collapse, but saw the silver light condensing into an icy vortex in her eyes.
Dr. Heisen laughed wildly and activated the nerves. "The sample is in place! Let the 'virus' be born in his arm!"
The blazing silver light and the blue-white torrent of destruction collided violently in mid-air!
Time seemed to freeze for a moment, ripped apart by this destructive energy. There was no deafening explosion, only a soul-shattering, silent annihilation! A blinding light instantly engulfed Lu Chenen's tiny form and the executioner's massive muzzle! The radiance was so intense that it seemed as if a cold, metallic sun had risen over the filthy garbage dump, illuminating the mountains of decaying debris and twisted metal debris with a pale, uncanny clarity.
Buzz——!!!
Immediately following was a shockwave of unimaginable violence! Like an invisible giant hammer, it carried with it a cloud of instantly melted and vaporized metal, radioactive dust, and a piercing, high-frequency humming sound beyond the human ear's tolerance, spreading madly in all directions in a circular pattern!
Boom boom boom!!!
The massive gear train where Wen Shifei and Ajie were hiding, like a building block caught in a gust of wind, uttered a despairing metallic groan as it was forcibly pushed back several meters! The heavy metal base plowed deep furrows into the hard ground! Countless rivets and tiny parts shattered in the impact, whistling in all directions like deadly shrapnel!
Wen Shifei huddled tightly in the deepest recess of the gear train, shielding the unconscious Ajie beneath her. The scorching air lashed her back like a whip, instantly evaporating the sweat and blood from her skin and inflicting a searing pain. Only the sharp buzzing and the roar of blood gushing filled her ears, and the world spun wildly before her eyes, blurring. She could only rely on instinct, clinging to the cold, rough metal beneath her, her nails cracking and bleeding from the strain.
The light slowly dissipated.
In mid-air, the crimson eye on the chest of the suspended Executioner flickered wildly, its massive, heavily armored body swaying violently. Its arm, along with the barrel of its gun, which had just unleashed the devastating bombardment, was now charred black. Its armor was warped and deformed, and even the broken wires within were visible, flashing dangerously with electric sparks. Clearly, Lu Chenen's desperate attack, consuming his life force and the power of mithril, had taken a heavy toll on it!
And Lu Chen entropy...
Wen Shifei struggled to raise his head, his eyes passing through the diffuse radioactive dust and scorching steam.
He fell powerlessly from mid-air like a burnt-out meteorite.
His mithril left arm, once a dazzling silver radiance, now shimmered, like an ugly lump of melted, solidified metal, now covered in ever-deeper, terrifying cracks. Strands of faint, ominous dark red energy wriggled within the cracks like dying blood vessels. His clothing was nearly ripped apart by the energy shockwaves, leaving his exposed skin covered in charred burns and lacerations deep enough to reveal the bone. His eyes were tightly closed, his face devoid of any expression of pain, only a dead, blank expression, as if his soul had been completely drained, leaving only a battered shell.
Bang!
His body slammed heavily onto a relatively soft pile of decay and metal debris below, stirring up a cloud of foul dust, and then fell silent. The faint green tracking light, like a maggot on the tarsal bone, still flickered stubbornly and steadily under the charred flesh on his chest.
“Chen En——!!!” Wen Shifei’s heart-wrenching scream was blocked by the smell of blood surging in his throat, leaving only silent despair.
The heavy thuds of the other two executioners landing were like a death knell. They ignored their companions' injuries, their single, crimson eye coldly scanning the fallen Lu Chenentang, whose life or death was unknown, before locking onto the gear cluster area where Wen Shifei and Ajie were hiding.
"Obstacle clearing command executed." The Executioner, wielding a high-frequency oscillating arm blade, uttered a cold electronic synthesized tone. He took heavy steps, his armored feet causing the ground to tremble slightly with each strike. The Executioner, with its massive metal claws swirling with high-voltage electricity, swooped in from the other side. Dazzling blue-white arcs of electricity danced from their claw tips, emitting a sizzling deathly sound.
Wen Shifei's heart sank to the bone. The executioner's target was Lu Chenhang; they and Ajie were merely "obstacles" that needed to be cleared! She looked at Lu Chenhang, limp as a rag in the distance, then glanced down at Ajie, whose breath was fading and whose sternum was collapsed in his arms. The immense grief and despair nearly consumed her. It was over... everything was over...
Just as the gigantic oscillating arm blade was raised high, ready to smash the entire gear train and them into pieces—
“Drip…drip…drip…”
A slight but rapid electronic prompt sound suddenly came from the scarlet eyes on the chests of the three executioners!
The arm blade, about to fall, suddenly stopped in mid-air! The two executioners' movements paused simultaneously. The crimson eye flickered rapidly several times, as if receiving a higher-priority command.
"Updated Supreme Directive: Prioritize recovery of core samples." The leading Executioner, whose arm was severely injured by Lu Chenentang, announced without emotion. "Obstacles... temporarily suspended. Execute recovery."
The cold words were like a pardon, but they carried a deeper chill.
The two executioners, armed with arm blades and giant claws, didn't hesitate at all. They immediately turned around and walked towards the place where Lu Chenen fell with heavy steps. Each step was filled with the indifference of crushing an ant.
Wen Shifei's heart felt like it was being gripped by an icy hand! Recover... the core sample?! They were going to take Shen En away! Back to the hive!
