He recognized her! At least, deep in his chaotic consciousness, there were still fragments of "Xu Shuangyao"!
A faint glimmer of hope just rose in Xu Shuangyao's heart——
“Boom!!!”
Suddenly, a violent explosion sounded from far above the ruins! The violent vibration shook the entire wreckage structure, and dust and rubble fell from above!
Then came the dense sound of gunfire, distinct from the roars of fungus beasts, with a distinct mechanical and electromagnetic hum! And then there were the uniquely human cries filled with shock, anger, and fear!
"Fire! Fire! Stop them!"
"Watch your flanks! Those aberrations are coming!"
"Damn it! Energy shield overload! Find cover!"
Someone?! A survivor?! And fighting an out-of-control fungus beast?!
This sudden external stimulation is like pouring cold water into a boiling oil pan!
Pei Du—or rather, the monster born from his remains—suddenly raised his head, his dark golden pupils instantly locking onto the direction of the explosion and the sound! The glimmer of human struggle and confusion that had just emerged in his eyes was like fragile thin ice, instantly crushed by the violent external noise and the surging conflicting forces within his body!
"roar--!!!"
A deafening roar, filled with pure destructive desire, erupted from the depths of his throat! This roar was no longer a human voice, but rather the combined roar of countless dying beasts' souls! The terrifying sound waves, mixed with the materialized mental impact, swept out like a storm!
Xu Shuangyao bore the brunt of the impact, slamming violently against the metal plate behind her. Her vision went dark, and she nearly fainted! She watched in horror as the dark red lava lines and pale mycelium veins on Pei Du's body suddenly glowed brightly! Chaotic, violent energy surged through his body like an uncontrolled torrent! In his dark golden pupils, the last shred of rationality was completely replaced by a crimson glow of violence and murder!
He turned around abruptly, no longer looking at Xu Shuangyao, and slammed the huge mutated bone claws into the ground!
boom!
The ground cracked, debris flew! His massive body transformed into a dark gray hurricane wrapped in a destructive aura. Ignoring the complex ruins, he directly smashed through the charred metal and collapsed structures blocking his path, rushing towards the direction of the explosions and the sounds of battle above...
Out of control! The battle outside completely ignited the violent and chaotic power within him! Now, he was no longer Pei Du, but a monster driven by murderous instincts and possessing terrifying power...! Any living creature within his perception range, whether fungus beast or human, would become the target of his desire for destruction!
"No! Pei Du! Stop!" Xu Shuangyao struggled to shout, but only a violent cough erupted, blood oozing from the corner of her mouth once again. She could only watch in despair as the hurricane of destruction vanished into the shadows and dust of the ruins, listening to the screams and explosions from above, which instantly became even more shrill and desperate after Pei Du joined the fray, and... the wails of the fungus beasts as they were torn apart by an even more violent force!

This was once an aerial tunnel connecting the outer perimeter of the throne area, now severed. One end slanted into the rubble below, while the other hung precariously in mid-air. Seven or eight human soldiers, wearing battered exoskeletons painted in some kind of gray-green camouflage, were constructing a fragile defense using the piled metal debris and a few twisted armor plates at the fractured area.
Their equipment was a mishmash, clearly from different factions and even different eras. Their powered exoskeletons were often covered in scratches and patches, and their energy weapons flickered with an unstable light. Each face was etched with exhaustion, fear, and a deep-seated despair. They faced a tidal wave of even more terrifying and bizarre mutated fungus beasts rising from below! Having lost their unified will, these fungus beasts had become distorted and chaotic. Some resembled multi-legged balls of flesh, spewing acid, while others, covered in razor-sharp bone blades, charged relentlessly.
"Ammunition! Old K! We're running out of ammunition!" A soldier with burn scars on his face roared, and the beam from the pulse rifle in his hand had become extremely weak.
"Hold on! Damn it! Hold on! Wait for the signal from the Sentinel!" The captain, known as Old K, a burly man with a full beard and most of his left arm's exoskeleton missing, brandished a high-frequency vibration machete with his only remaining right arm, splitting a bone-blade fungus beast in half as he screamed into the communicator: "Sentinel! Sentinel! Have you found the energy node yet?! We can't hold on any longer! This damn place is full of crazy monsters!"
There was only the crackling sound of electricity in the communicator.
Just then!
boom!!!
A dark grey figure, like a meteorite, crashed down from a hole in the collapsed wall to their side. The shockwave from the landing sent several nearby fungus beasts flying!
All the soldiers turned their guns in an instant and looked at the sudden uninvited guest in horror.
Dark grey skin shimmered with the light of lava and mycelium, ferocious, alienated bone claws, half a face encrusted with twisted thorns, dark golden pupils seething with chaos and violence… This was definitely not human! Even more terrifying than those distorted fungus beasts!
"Open fire! It's a new type of monster!" Old K's pupils suddenly shrank, and he shouted the order without hesitation! He instinctively sensed a threat from this thing that was even more deadly than the beast tide below!
Dadada! Buzz!
The remaining energy beams and high-explosive projectiles rained down on the dark grey figure that had just landed!
Facing the onslaught of firepower, the monster (Pei Du) didn't even make a move to dodge! His dark golden pupils simply scanned the "bugs" attacking him with indifference, and a low growl of disdain emanated from his throat.
