"I...I'm fine..." Su Wan struggled to sit up, but Dr. Chen had already deftly placed several biosensor patches on her temple, carotid artery, and wrist. A cool touch reached her, and the scanning beam built into the emergency room began to slowly move across her body.
"Abnormally elevated intracranial pressure! Neurotransmitter levels are disrupted! Adrenaline levels are severely elevated! Multiple capillaries are showing signs of rupture!" Dr. Chen stared at the rapidly scrolling data on the holographic screen that popped up on the side of the emergency room, his expression growing increasingly grim. "Director Su, you just forcibly used abilities far beyond your physical capacity? This is too dangerous! Inject a neuro-stabilizer and energy supplement immediately!"
Without further ado, Dr. Chen precisely inserted a prefilled syringe into Su Wan's arm vein. The cold liquid surged into her veins, bringing a powerful calming effect, forcibly suppressing the churning blood and trembling nerves within her body. The ripping pain and dizziness eased slightly, but it was replaced by a deeper exhaustion and chill that no medication could dispel. She lay powerless in the emergency room, her eyes rolling as she took in Dr. Chen's furrowed brow and the solemn expression on his profile as his fingers moved swiftly across the holographic screen.
Elsewhere, Gu Chengxiao crouched before the remains of the mechanical flying insects. A bodyguard handed him a specially designed isolated analysis box equipped with a microscope camera and a multifunctional probe. Gu Chengxiao carefully used a tool to clamp the still-scorching, twisted metal, still crackling with tiny sparks, and placed it inside the analysis box, sealing it.
"'Zero', synchronize access to the analysis box sensor. I want to know its structure, energy source, communication method, self-destruct mechanism, and especially any unique markings or codes that can point to the source!" Gu Chengxiao's voice was cold and focused.
The micro-robotic arm inside the analysis box began to move, and the high-powered microscope lens was trained on the wreckage. A holographic projection unfolded before Gu Chengxiao, showing the internal structure of the wreckage magnified countless times.
"Wreckage analysis in progress...External armor: Unknown high-density alloy, possessing extremely high energy resistance and physical toughness, not recorded in any known military or civilian material databases. Power core: Melted, the remaining structure reveals the prototype of a miniature cold nuclear fusion reactor, with a technological path significantly deviating from current mainstream theory. Propulsion system: High-frequency piezoelectric ceramic wing flaps, efficiency exceeding the limits of existing technology. Communication module: Completely burned, residual energy signatures indicate a non-standard quantum encryption band, band characteristics... Some fragments show a weak 0.73% correlation with the residual signal from Director Su's neural interface..."
"0.73%?" Gu Chengxiao's brow furrowed even more. This number was so low, almost a coincidence, yet its presence here seemed incredibly strange. He stared at the wreckage in the holographic projection, its layers peeling back to reveal its intricate and sophisticated internal structure. It was a product that Earth's current technology couldn't easily produce. Especially at the core, the few barely discernible microchips, etched with incredibly complex circuits, their design and level of integration were astonishing.
"Self-destruct device triggering method: dual redundancy. External strong electromagnetic interference or physical damage exceeds the threshold, triggering the miniature antimatter annihilation bomb... It has failed. The core logic chip has physically melted... Residual fragments of the preset logic have been detected..." The cold electronic voice continued to report.
"Preset logic?" Gu Chengxiao keenly grasped the key point, "Analyze the remaining fragments!"
The probe inside the analysis box released a weak stream of energy, attempting to stimulate the melted chip. Several lines of intermittent, garbled text and symbols were painstakingly pieced together and flashed on the holographic projection:
[…Agreement…Execution…Cleanup…]
[…Supreme directive…protect…critical nodes…Su…wan…]
[…Interference source…clear…Gu…Cheng…Xiao…]
[…Return…Order…Omnic…Dawn…]
"Protect... the key point... Su Wan?" Gu Chengxiao repeated in a low voice, each word sounding like it had been pulled from an icy cellar. He suddenly raised his head, his gaze like a cold searchlight, directed at Su Wan in the emergency room! His gaze was so sharp that it seemed to penetrate her, filled with scrutiny, suspicion, and a deeper, cold wariness, a sense of having touched upon her core secrets! "Eliminate... Gu Chengxiao..." This naked hostility and murderous intent instantly brought the aura around him to a freezing point.
In the emergency room, the discomfort, barely suppressed by medication, surged again. Su Wan clearly felt Gu Chengxiao's icy, piercing gaze, and heard the fragments of information Zero had analyzed! Protect her? Eliminate Gu Chengxiao? This absurd command chilled her to the bone, as if she had fallen into an icy cave! The vast entity within her, upon hearing the words "Protect... the critical node... Su Wan" and "Dawn of the Omnics," actually emitted a subtle yet distinct "pulsation"—not anger or alarm, but more like... confirmation? A response to a pre-determined command?!
This feeling struck Su Wan like lightning! Could it be… could it be that she and this mysterious and terrifying "Dawn of the Omnics" truly have some unknown connection?! Was the AI within her body their "critical node"?!
"No... Impossible..." Su Wan shook her head subconsciously, her voice weak but trembling with fear. "I don't know them... I don't know..." She tried to defend herself, but even she felt pale and powerless. The "confirmation" wave from her internal AI coiled around her heart like a venomous snake.
Gu Chengxiao slowly stood up, his tall figure casting a long, oppressive shadow under the flashing red light of the emergency lights. He didn't question Su Wan immediately, but his cold, all-seeing gaze said it all. He turned to Dr. Chen, who was rapidly operating the equipment, and said in a serious voice, "Her condition?"
