Chapter 125 The Guardian of the Broken Body

Pei Du detonated the singularity of the law and died together with the flesh-and-blood mechanical monster.

The remains of the body are mired in filth and the core key is on the verge of extinction.

An ancient metal figure crawled out from the shadows of the ruins, its dark red windows locked onto the dying starry sky.

The energy box opened, and the cold blue life-support fluid was injected into Pei Du's broken core.

"Warning... High concentrations of 'Entropy Silence' pollution approaching... Level: Extinction..."

The remaining arm of the Metal Watcher points to the wasteland horizon—the sticky darkness is swallowing up the starlight and spreading silently!

Embers of destruction slowly settled in the stagnant air, carrying with them the pungent stench of burnt flesh and the thick, lingering stench of burning tissue. At the edge of the deep crater created by the explosion, foul mud flowed like a sticky wound, dripping with molten metal debris and charred, indescribable fragments of organic matter. Dark red, dark green, and eerie blue energy remnants twisted and flickered unwillingly at the bottom of the crater and in the surrounding mire like dying serpents. Each faint flicker was accompanied by subtle, heart-wrenching ripples in the air.

Pei Du lay in the mud at the edge of the deep pit, like a discarded, broken porcelain.

Below the waist, it vanished completely. The fractured edges weren't smooth cuts, but rather a horrific state of being torn and melted by a violent force. The dark golden structure of the Starry Sky Law had long lost all its luster, like cooled volcanic rock, riddled with a spiderweb of cracks so dense and deep they reached the bone. Deep within the cracks, no longer flowing energy, but a dark red remnant of energy, slowly creeping like viscous magma, emitting a destructive heat and an ominous aura. This was the uncontrolled poison of the Law left after the forced detonation of the Law singularity, like a cancer in the flesh, constantly corroding the remaining structure. Molten Gold's pupils were completely dilated, losing all focus, leaving only two faint crimson embers that almost blended into the surrounding darkness, like a dying candle, reflecting the swirling, leaden, and depressing sky.

Cold. A chill that penetrated the bones, freezing the soul. It stemmed not only from the physical cold of the filthy mire, but also from the emptiness of the flame of life about to be completely extinguished. Every attempt to gather consciousness was like struggling through sticky asphalt, bringing with it a tearing pain and the pull of a deeper darkness. Deep within the core, the crimson ember that once flickered tenaciously, representing Xu Shuangyao's final gift, now dimmed to the extreme, like the last spark of a candle in the wind, swaying in the endless cold darkness.

[Life support...Termination...]

A stream of cold, logical instructions flowed intermittently, like the murmurs of a dying man, sliding past the edge of his fading consciousness, carrying a suffocating sense of finality. The fragments of information contained within the instructions coldly announced the outcome: he detonated the core, dragging the monster down with him, at the cost of completely crumbling the foundation of his own existence. The crimson spot, severely damaged by the forced suppression of that destructive outburst, sank into a dead silence.

it's over.

In this forgotten, lawless wasteland of ashes, he went in the most tragic way, going against the "survival" that Xu Shuangyao had set for him.

Consciousness, like a stone sinking into a lightless ocean, plummets towards eternal cold and silence. All the struggles, all the pain, all the protection and loss, ultimately become a fleeting ember in this filthy mire. Even despair seems so pale and extravagant.

Just then—

Sand…Sand…Sand…

An extremely slight, yet regular and cold scraping sound with the unique feeling of metal friction, like an ice needle piercing the thick curtain of death, abruptly pierced Pei Du's perception that was about to be completely silent!

It wasn't the wind! It wasn't the groaning of the ruins! It was... something heavy, dragging itself through the sticky mire!

The source of the sound was not far from his remains, behind a huge metal slope covered with a thick dark green fungal carpet and slanted into the swamp!

Pei Du's two dying crimson embers suddenly and with great difficulty... jumped once! Like a tiny stone dropped into stagnant water, it stirred a final ripple on the verge of breaking. His remaining consciousness, nearly crushed by the excruciating pain and emptiness, was forcibly pierced by the cold scraping of metal, gathering a faint, yet extremely alert feeling.

And...something?!

The remaining, unfocused "sight" struggled almost instinctively, extremely slowly, like a rusty gear, turning a tiny angle and heading towards the source of the sound.

The vision was blurry and shaky, as if looking through a layer of frosted glass soaked in blood and mud.

At the bottom of the huge metal slope, the edge of the thick, dark green fungal carpet, which looked like rotting meat, was slowly pushed open and arched by a force from the inside.

Phew.

A hand, covered in cold, thick, dark silver metal armor, covered in deep scratches and mottled with rust, suddenly pierced the fungal carpet. With its fingers spread wide, it pressed down hard on the filthy, cold mud below! Several broken wires were exposed at the metal joints. As the hand exerted force, a few extremely faint, fleeting blue sparks erupted from the fractures.

Next came another arm—or rather, the remains of one. This arm was only half gone, completely missing below the elbow, the broken armor edges twisted and curled, revealing the charred cables and complex metal bone structure inside.

Then, a heavy figure covered in the same ancient thick dark silver armor crawled out from the shadows covered by the fungus blanket with great difficulty and staggering...!
