Chapter 24 Startled

"I will go and inform the madam to summon a doctor." Zi Yuan made her decision and turned to leave.

Soon, Madam Jiang arrived. Seeing Jiang Tingjun crying incessantly, she was very worried and reached out to hug him.

Jiang Tingjun was equally unwilling, and cried loudly whenever he tried to be hugged.

The doctor arrived, took his pulse, and diagnosed him as being severely frightened.

"Where did you take Jun'er?" Madam Jiang asked.

“The young master did not go out today. Yesterday afternoon, he played in the garden for more than an hour,” Ziyuan replied to Madam Jiang.

Reflecting on what happened at Qushuiyuan and the garden yesterday afternoon.

Madam Jiang's face turned pale instantly. "Doctor, please save Jun'er!"

Jiang Tingjun cried even harder this time, waving his little hands as if trying to chase something away.

"I'll prescribe a calming medicine to soothe the young master's emotions first," the doctor said as he wrote the prescription.

Ziyuan took the prescription, prepared the medicine, brewed it, and brought it to her.

Jiang Tingjun wouldn't let anyone touch him, and he couldn't be given the medicine.

“Let me feed them,” an older voice said.

Ye Yunniang turned around and saw a kind-faced middle-aged woman walk in. She took the medicine bowl from Ziyuan's hand and walked up to Jiang Tingjun. Without her making any move, Jiang Tingjun quickly stopped crying and obediently opened his mouth to drink the medicine.

"Aunt Lan, you're really something." Madam Jiang exclaimed, realizing that none of them could do anything about Jiang Tingjun.

As soon as Aunt Jinlan arrived, she calmed down the crying Jiang Tingjun.

Despite the praise, Aunt Jinlan's expression didn't change much. Instead, she advised Madam Jiang to go back to her room and rest. She would keep an eye on things here.

"Thank you for your hard work, Aunt Lan." Madam Jiang said with relief as she led her people away.
