Chicken feet delivery, what's not to like?
Shui Yanling, who was walking ahead, was unaware of my many thoughts. She was also secretly surprised. She had never seen this tree before, and the ancient aura emanating from its trunk was overwhelming. She felt that the tree must have a very special history.
Chapter Sixty-Five: Be Cautious and on Guard
At the same time, she was also cautiously wary of the tree. Although the tree had a familiar feel to it, it had attacked them before, so she did not let her guard down.
Even so, the tree's aura was simply too powerful. She even had a feeling that even if she and her grandfather were at their peak, they would likely not be able to defeat the tree.
Moreover, she could sense more than just that; she even felt a bloody and evil ghostly aura within the tree's presence. Although the feeling wasn't very strong, the intense sense of oppression made her tremble involuntarily.
The distance from the edge of the grove to this tree didn't seem very far, but it took us a long time to walk there because the tree was so huge that it created a visual illusion.
The further you walk, the more you can feel the ancient aura emanating from this tree. It feels as if it has transcended the cycle of time and space, emanating a sense of vicissitudes from thousands of years ago, like a living fossil.
If this tree were to appear before the world, I estimate it would attract global attention. After all, there is probably no other tree of this size in the world, and it bears a striking resemblance to the legendary tree used to build Roja's Ark.
After walking for a long time, we were finally about to reach the giant tree. Looking at it again, we felt even more terrified, as if a huge wall was blocking our way.
Grandpa didn't stop until he reached the tree, and we stopped in front of it with him.
Looking from here, the texture and veins of the tree king are clearly visible. Each vein is almost as thick as my arm, making it look like a wrinkled wall.
I sensed an ancient aura from the texture of the tree, and I wondered how long it had been there. It gave off a very imposing feeling.
For some reason, I suddenly had the thought that if I cut down this tree for firewood, how long would it take to burn? Even I was startled by this thought.
I looked up and found that it was completely dark above me, and I couldn't see the top of the tree at all.
"Look at that!" Shui Yanling suddenly looked up and pointed to the sky.
Grandpa and I looked up at the same time. It was pitch black and we couldn't see anything. But I could vaguely see countless tiny gray dots in that blackness, completely mixed in with the darkness, and we couldn't see them at all.
Grandpa just glanced up and then looked down again, saying only, "You'll know tonight!" Grandpa's words made me even more curious. I squinted and stared intently at the top, but I could only make out a little bit. It looked like pieces of fruit or something hanging on it.
Because the tree was so huge and tall, it was impossible to see it clearly.
Shui Yanling was also curious. Logically, she should be able to see clearly, but it seemed as if a strange force was blocking her. After all, this was the Tree King's body, and she couldn't be too presumptuous. If she accidentally angered the Tree King, it would cause trouble.
"Alright, stop looking, we've arrived!" Grandpa suddenly said.
"We're here? This is it?" I looked away from the top of my head and stared at the wrinkled tree wall in front of me, somewhat incredulous. Grandpa said this was the place he was taking us to; I thought it might be a cave or something.
Shui Yanling didn't say anything, but just quietly looked at her grandfather, as if she knew that there was more to come.
"Yes, this is it. Your father transplanted these trees to hide this place! I don't know what's inside, but it must be something very important. Your father told me that if you ever discover anything strange in the future, he would bring you here. I don't know the specifics."
Looking at this tree wall, I was a little puzzled. What exactly was it? It seemed to be very important to me, otherwise they wouldn't have sent this tree king to guard this place.
Grandpa stood still, but suddenly made a gesture with his hand, pointed lightly at the tree wall, and said in a deep voice, "Open!" Then something surprising happened. A huge crack appeared in the tree wall, and along the texture of the bark, a gap opened up, just like a door, revealing a dark hole inside.
I never expected that the things my parents left me would be inside the Tree King's body. And when a door opened here, the Tree King didn't react at all, as if it had tacitly approved of it.
After Grandpa opened the door, he put his hands behind his back. Shui Yanling also looked into the cave entrance a few times with some curiosity.
Looking at the dark opening, I felt a little uneasy. After all, going directly into the tree king's body would feel like being swallowed by it, which made me nervous.
However, while I hesitated, Grandpa had already gone inside, and Yanling followed behind him, seemingly without any fear at all.
Seeing them like this, I naturally followed suit, after all, I couldn't lose face in front of Yanling! Besides, I was also very curious about what my parents had left me.
