Chicken feet delivery, what's not to like?
Tongtian, perhaps due to his personality, represents Pangu in his youth, being impulsive and brave, especially fond of swords; or perhaps because his most treasured possession was a sword, he forged the Qingping Sword with his merits when he established his sect. It is a magic weapon of the same level as Laozi's white jade crutch and Yuanshi's three-treasure jade ruyi, all of which are first-class treasures of acquired merit. The three have their own functions and are not inferior to each other, but in actual combat, Tongtian's Qingping Sword is the best, after all, compared to the crutch and the jade ruyi, the sword is more ferocious.
Tongtian was able to withstand the attacks of the two saints with the Qingping Sword in his hand, but it was not entirely due to the power of the Qingping Sword. No matter how powerful the Qingping Sword was, it was just a treasure of merit. How could it compare to the Pangu Banner in Yuanshi's hand?
Although it seems the three sages are still evenly matched, the outcome is actually quite clear. Tongtian is fighting two sages alone. One of them is Laozi, whose cultivation ranks among the top of all the sages. Laozi's cultivation is quite high; among the seven sages, he is only slightly inferior to Xuantian and even surpasses Jieyin in cultivation. The other is Yuanshi Tianzun, who wields a supreme innate treasure. In terms of cultivation, Yuanshi's cultivation was comparable to Tongtian's when he became a sage, and now Yuanshi possesses the Pangu Banner, one of the most precious treasures created at the beginning of time. Tongtian's ability to fight both of them to a standstill demonstrates his high level of cultivation, almost comparable to Laozi.
This was no exaggeration. Tongtian set up the Zhuxian Sword Formation to suppress Laojun and Yuanshi. The two were not as strong as usual, but they were still powerful. Moreover, they had the treasures left behind by Pangu when he created the world. Tongtian's ability to fight against the two alone showed his great skill.
The three sages have been fighting for so long, and each of them has their own thoughts.
Lao Jun was increasingly astonished by the battle. He had never imagined that Tong Tian, who had vigorously developed the Jie Sect over the years, would have the widest, fastest, and most abundant transmission of the sect's teachings. With the help of this fortune, Tong Tian's cultivation had improved so rapidly. Lao Jun could see that, in terms of Tong Tian's current cultivation, he might be slightly inferior to himself, but he was not much weaker. The fact that Tong Tian could suppress the two of them with the formation and fight them for so long showed the extent of Tong Tian's cultivation.
Yuanshi was also quite surprised, but his surprise was mixed with a hint of annoyance. He had always looked down on Tongtian simply because he was born earlier than Tongtian. Although the amount of Pangu's primordial spirit and merit was not as great as Tongtian's, he was still proud of it. This situation is not particularly rare. This book is not simply belittling certain saints; in reality, this is quite common. Many middle-aged people in their thirties and forties do not like young people in their twenties. It's not that there is any targeting involved, but rather that the two groups have different ways of looking at things.
Young people are energetic and judge problems based on their subjective consciousness, acting solely on their own preferences. Middle-aged people are similar, but they primarily rely on subjective judgment, supplemented by objective facts. However, this combination of subjective and objective consciousness leads to a semi-mature mindset, sometimes making them more confused in their dealings with matters. They are like women going through menopause, always believing they are right and intolerant of any opposition from others.
Even sages are human, and this common phenomenon among mortals is something even sages cannot escape. Each of the Three Pure Ones has their own way of thinking. Lao Tzu is the most objective in his view of things, adding his own ideas to objective facts, which is Lao Tzu's greatest success. Tongtian is like many young people, but he acts according to his own preferences, and his thinking is somewhat immature. Even the smartest people are like this, a common problem among young people. Yuanshi is different. Like many people in middle age, he is very respectful to his superiors, but strict with his subordinates. Yuanshi's view of things also tends to be objective, but his subjectivity is somewhat extreme, like that of young people. The difference between these two perspectives leads to some of Yuanshi's extreme actions in dealing with things.
Regarding the matter of establishing a religion, Laozi advocated non-action, Tongtian advocated education for all, while Yuanshi opposed Tongtian. Judging from their actions after establishing their religions, Laozi basically achieved non-action, fully demonstrating the original intent of his Daoist teachings; Tongtian's education for all was a failure, as he didn't care about background and accepted anyone he found acceptable as his disciples; while Yuanshi was extreme, insisting on valuing social status, and had only a few disciples, which was also a failed measure.
There's no right or wrong among the three; it's just that their personalities dictated what happened, making it unavoidable. Enough said, let's get back to the main point.
Meanwhile, the three sages were fighting within the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation. Laozi thought to himself, "If this continues, I wonder how long the Investiture of the Gods will be delayed? This is not good." After thinking it over, he transmitted his thoughts to Yuanshi Tianzun, and after Yuanshi Tianzun nodded, Laozi feinted an attack, jumped out of the circle, and pushed off the fish-tail crown on his head. Three streams of energy emerged from his head, transforming into the Three Pure Ones. Laozi shouted, "My three fellow Daoists, come quickly to my aid!" As soon as he finished speaking, three Daoists appeared from three directions; they were none other than the Daoists Taiqing, Yuqing, and Shangqing.
Yuanshi cried out in surprise, but then heard Laojun shout, "Junior brother, quickly go and get the Zhuxian Sword!" After shouting, Laojun held a flat cane in one hand and threw out a Taiji diagram in the other, which transformed into a golden bridge that connected with Tongtian. Laojun then stepped onto the golden bridge and fought with Tongtian, entangled with him.
Upon hearing Laozi's call, Yuanshi Tianzun was somewhat puzzled, but he understood that now was not the time for doubt. He then headed towards the Zhuxian Gate to retrieve the Zhuxian Sword. The Three Pure Ones also went to the Lu, Jue, and Xian Gates to retrieve the three swords.
Meanwhile, Yuanshi entered the Zhuxian Gate and saw the Zhuxian Sword hanging on the Zhuxian Pavilion. Several disciples of the Jie Sect stood on the pavilion. Upon seeing Yuanshi, they quickly unleashed Shangqing Divine Thunder at the Zhuxian Sword. The thunder shook the sword, causing it to emit several beams of light that shot towards Yuanshi. Yuanshi chuckled. If Tongtian had personally sent it, it would have been troublesome, but since Tongtian was currently entangled with Laozi, Yuanshi was not afraid. He casually waved the Pangu Banner, unleashing several chaotic sword energies that shattered the sword light. The chaotic sword energies continued their momentum, killing the Jie Sect disciples and enshrining their spirits on the Investiture of the Gods. Yuanshi then shot out another sword energy to immobilize the Zhuxian Sword. The sword struggled violently, and Yuanshi panicked, unleashing several more chaotic sword energies to immobilize it before finally reaching out to retrieve the Zhuxian Sword.
