Lin Yue never imagined she'd randomly marry a man she met less than a day before after graduating college.
Ever since she turned 18, her mother went all out introducing her to different m...
Life was peaceful and happy. The winter solstice came quietly. A thin layer of mist formed on the French windows, and the warm, soft sunlight shone through the haze, casting a golden hue over the room.
Lin Yue was concentrating on the task assigned by her tutor in the study. Her brows furrowed and relaxed at times, and she would sometimes bite her fingernails. Her serious expression was quite adorable.
Just as she was struggling with the problem, the study door was gently pushed open, and Song Yunzheng stood in the doorway and waved to her.
"Come over and have some dumplings. They're freshly made and cooked. Try your husband's cooking." The man's voice was as languid as ever.
Lin Yue lowered her head and replied, "Coming." She was making the most of every second to get things done.
The rich aroma had already whetted Lin Yue's appetite. She pushed back her chair, got up, and couldn't wait to walk to the dining room, pick up her chopsticks, and put a dumpling in her mouth.
The mushroom and beef filling, the rich aroma enveloped my tongue, and I asked with satisfaction and a light heart, "Honey, what day is it today? Why did you decide to make dumplings?"
Today is the Winter Solstice.
Busy with her studies all day, Lin Yue no longer had the brainpower to pay attention to these things.
She licked her lips, picked up another dumpling, stuffed it into her mouth, and muttered, "Oh dear, I was so busy I forgot."
Song Yunzheng chuckled and gently touched her chubby cheeks. "Do you want to go out and have fun on New Year's Day?"
Where to?
"It's a secret for now, I'll surprise you."
Because of his surprise, Lin Yue had been secretly looking forward to it for a long time, until the day before New Year's Day.
Before sunset, Song Yunzheng picked her up from school and drove her to the place of surprise he had mentioned.
"Hey, where are we going?" Lin Yue looked at the scenery rushing past the car window, then glanced at the luggage in the back seat, completely bewildered.
"I'll take you out to have some fun, but we'll have to stay out for a few days." Song Yunzheng held the steering wheel steadily with one hand, and squeezed her hand with the other.
One hour later...
The car stopped in front of a mountaintop guesthouse, with a large wooden sign that read "See the Mountain, Stay Home".
The villa's exterior design is simple yet grand, with a wide open-air balcony extending from the front of the building, covered with various blooming flowers, filling the air with their fragrance.
The railings on both sides of the balcony are made of wrought iron and are carved with exquisite patterns, adding a touch of romantic elegance to the whole house.
Song Yunzheng was carrying a suitcase in one hand and holding Lin Yue's hand in the other. Before he even entered the gate, a man with a warm face and a physique that looked very auspicious walked towards him.
I suppose he's the owner of this guesthouse.
"Mr. Song, it's been a long time." The man stepped forward with a smile, eagerly took the suitcase from his hands, and then nodded to Lin Yue with a smile, "Seeing is believing. Mrs. Song is much prettier in person than in the photos on the internet."
"Thank you." Lin Yue smiled gently.
Song Yunzheng asked, "Is everything ready?"
"Don't worry, everything is ready, we're just waiting for you." The shop owner gave a reassuring smile.
The receptionist was thrilled to see her boss leading in two very good-looking guests. Her face lit up with a radiant smile, and her eyes lingered on the two men like radar.
Looking at beautiful people or things is like giving your eyes a spa treatment, which can prolong your life.
Without needing to register, the boss led them directly to the most luxurious suite on the second floor.
Song Yunzheng reached out and took the luggage, thanking the shop owner.
"Mr. Song, please don't be so polite. Please call me anytime if you need anything."
"good."
After seeing the shop owner off, the good family man got busy.
All the bed sheets and duvet covers were changed to our own, as were the slippers. The clothes we were going to wear were also neatly hung out, and all the toiletries were provided.
Lin Yue leaned back lazily on the chaise lounge in front of the French windows, watching Song Yunzheng packing his things. She couldn't help but sigh, "If the suitcases were any bigger, he probably would have to move his whole house here."
"Wear this coat in a bit, it's windy in the mountains, especially at night." Song Yunzheng adjusted a thick, long down jacket.
"good."
Walking from the second floor to the observation deck, they didn't see a single other tourist besides themselves.
The scenery here is so beautiful, the environment is so lovely, it shouldn't be so deserted at a time like today.
Lin Yue glanced at the man beside her and casually asked, "Did you book this whole place?"
"Guess..." Song Yunzheng tucked her slightly cool little hand into his coat pocket, a slight smile playing on his lips.
Looking into his cunning, fox-like eyes, the answer was obvious.
In front of the viewing platform, a tent had been set up at some point. Inside the tent was a large table, two folding chairs, a barbecue grill, and a lot of ingredients, mostly beef.
"Did they bring over the same equipment from the barbecue restaurant?" Lin Yuexin walked over excitedly, looking at it from left to right and touching it from right to left.
"Hmm, that's about it. I'll grill some meat for you later, and you can enjoy the sunset while you're at it," Song Yunzheng said, already busy with his hands.
His technique was skillful; the beef sizzled and dripped with oil under his hands, and soon the aroma of meat filled the air. He then divided the grilled meat into various plates.
"Here, have a taste, but be careful, it's hot."
Lin Yue took her first bite and couldn't wait to give a thumbs up, "Mmm, it's so delicious!"
She ate with great relish, extremely happy, her cheeks puffed out.
Song Yunzheng glanced at the sky outside the tent and reminded her, "Yueyue, turn around."
Upon hearing this, Lin Yue put down her chopsticks, turned around, and froze instantly.
As the sun sets, the mountain colors subtly change, like nature's most delicate palette.
