Chapter 31 Twins (2/2)

Su Wantang smiled gently, "I never expected my parents to be so good to me..."

She thought her in-laws would look down on her because of her background, but they didn't.

On the contrary, they genuinely like to accept themselves.

This put Su Wantang at ease.

"I'll go help in the kitchen too," Su Wantang said.

"Don't go." Lu Linchuan gently pressed Su Wantang's shoulder with his long, slender hand. "Pregnant women can't go into the kitchen or smell cooking fumes. Just sit here and rest."

"I'm not that delicate," Su Wantang said with a helpless chuckle.

“This isn’t being fussy; it’s for the baby’s sake. Babies don’t want to smell the cooking fumes.” The man looked at her gently.

Su Wantang had no choice but to nod, "Alright then, I'll just sit here and watch TV."

"Okay, I'll go help too."

Lu Linchuan walked towards the kitchen.

The kitchen was filled with laughter and cheerful conversation.

"I've never been happier in my life!" Mrs. Lu said excitedly, chopping the chicken even more vigorously.

Mr. Lu then scooped out the large carp he had prepared beforehand, killed it with a single blow, and deftly shaved off its scales. "Me too! This is the happiest day of my life so far! Son, you've really made your old man proud!"

"I kept praying that God would bless my son so that he could marry a wife smoothly and that the Lu family line would continue. Now it seems that our ancestors have answered my prayers!" Mother Lu couldn't stop smiling.

“Yes, Xiaotang has had a tough time. Her parents left her when she was young, and she must have had a very hard time all these years.” Mr. Lu sighed and said, “This child is so lovable. From now on, we will treat her like our own daughter and never let her suffer any grievances.”

"If anyone dares to cause my daughter-in-law the slightest grievance, I'll fight them to the death!" Mother Lu said coldly, gripping the kitchen knife.

Lu Linchuan smiled helplessly beside him. Seeing how much they liked Su Wantang, he felt relieved. "We plan to get our marriage certificate tomorrow. After we get the certificate and pack our things, she will go to the island to join the military."

“The climate on that island is so hot, I’m really worried that my daughter-in-law won’t be able to handle it.” The smile on Lu’s mother’s face faded a little, and she looked somewhat worried.

“She stays in the family compound with the air conditioning on during the day when it’s hot, and comes out again when it’s cool at night. Mom and Dad, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of her,” Lu Linchuan said while chopping vegetables.

“That’s my wife who traveled all the way to join you in the army. She’s a complete stranger in this unfamiliar place, and you’re all she has to rely on. If you treat her badly, I’ll be the first to hold you accountable!” Father Lu glared at Lu Linchuan.

"How could I? She's a precious treasure that I begged for. How could I bear to make her sad?" Lu Linchuan smiled helplessly.

“Okay, then call me when your due date is approaching, and I’ll come over to take care of my daughter-in-law and my grandson and granddaughter,” said Mrs. Lu.

She was a little reluctant to part with her daughter-in-law, whom she had just met today and who would be leaving soon.

The conversation between the group could be faintly heard in the living room through the kitchen. Because Su Wantang had been drinking spring water recently, her hearing was excellent, and she heard every word.

Having lost her parents at a young age, Su Wantang has never felt the warmth of home again.

Now, her in-laws' love and care have given her a sense of home.

Su Wantang felt a warmth in her heart. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
