Chapter 84 An Argument Erupts (2/2)

"Who taught you manners? Stealing food from your sister's bowl? Spit it out!"

Xiao Feng was startled. Before he could even chew the meat in his mouth, Qin Tian yelled at him, and he burst into tears, the meat and saliva falling to the ground.

"Why are you being so aggressive towards the child!" Li Xiumei slammed her chopsticks on the table and stood up to protect her son. "It's just a piece of meat! The child is young and doesn't understand. Are you making such a fuss? Is your niece made of gold? You can't even touch a piece of meat?"

As she spoke, she pointed her finger directly at Su Wantang: "You do nothing all day long but eat. All the food and drinks are bought with our family's money. And now, you won't even let my son eat meat. Do we owe you something?"

"Li Xiumei!" Qin Tian was furious. "What kind of nonsense are you spouting! The groceries Lin Chuan bought and the food Lin Chuan cooked, how does that mean I'm eating your food?"

"He bought it? He lives in my house, using water, electricity, and gas—doesn't that cost money? Let me tell you, Qin Tian, I've put up with them for a long time! Let's make this clear today: this family is either them or me!" Li Xiumei completely broke off all pretense of civility.

Su Wantang's face turned pale. The discomfort of pregnancy, combined with this argument, made her stomach churn.

Lu Linchuan helped her up, his eyes as cold as ice. "Aunt, it's Uncle's idea for us to live here. If you find it inconvenient, we can move out immediately."

"Move! Move it now!" Li Xiumei screamed.

"Shut up!" Qin Tian slammed his hand on the table, silencing the entire room. He pointed at Li Xiumei, his hand trembling with anger. "I'm telling you, as long as I'm in this house, no one can kick Wan Tang and her husband out! Li Xiumei, if you dare to utter another word of nonsense, you're out!"

"Fine! You've turned your back on us!" Li Xiumei was furious. She slapped her thigh and wailed, "What sins have I committed to deserve such a clueless partner! If I had known you would turn out like this, I shouldn't have saved your life! I should have just let you die!"

As she spoke, Li Xiumei pulled Xiaofeng along, "Xiaofeng! I think this family will be surnamed Su from now on. This family can no longer accommodate us, mother and son! Let's go!"

As she spoke, Li Xiumei cried and left, pulling Xiao Feng's hand.

The door slammed shut, and the room instantly became eerily quiet.

Su Wantang gripped the edge of the table, watching Qin Tian's stiff back, her heart filled with mixed emotions. This family had been completely thrown into chaos because of her and Lu Linchuan.

"Uncle, could you go and see Aunt?" she said softly, her voice a little hoarse. "She's with Xiaofeng, and it's so cold outside..."

Qin Tian waved his hand and slumped into a chair. He looked ten years older, with deeper wrinkles on his face.

"No need to chase after her." He gave a wry smile. "I'm used to her temper. She'll come back naturally once she calms down."

Lu Linchuan quietly tidied up the scattered dishes on the table, his movements slow and gentle. He knew that what Su Wantang needed most right now was peace and quiet, not an argument.

Qin Tian suddenly looked up at Su Wantang, his eyes filled with guilt.

"Wantang, I'm sorry." His voice trembled slightly. "It's all my fault for being useless; I've made you suffer. I was hoping that your return would make the house more lively, but I never expected..."

He paused, his voice choked with emotion, and looked at Su Wantang with guilt.

"Your parents passed away early, and you've suffered so much since you were little. As your uncle, I should protect you. But..." (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
