Dreaming Back to the 70s: Divine Beasts at Home

A TV drama from the 90s was once the origin of Yu Yin's nightmares, and its ending theme song deeply influenced her.

Yu Yin's childhood was filled with the sounds of her parents argui...

Chapter 122 Slowly isn't really slow, it's just lazy.

Time flies when you're raising a child. Before you knew it, Yu Yin was out of confinement and had to go back to work in just a few days.

In the past month, Kuai Kuai and Man Man have also undergone significant changes.

Especially Kuai Kuai, who was more than a pound lighter than her sister when she was born, has caught up with her sister's weight in the past month.

The two little ones don't get much sun, so they're fair and tender, especially noticeable when compared to An'an.

Yu Yin remembered it was a day off. An'an had been running around all morning, and as soon as she got home, she ran to see her younger brother and sister. Inadvertently, An'an noticed that her hands and her sister's hands were noticeably different. Her hands were dark, while her sister's hands were white, making the difference especially obvious when placed side by side.

"Mommy, my hands, why are my hands different from my sister's? Why are my hands so dark?" An'an cried out anxiously.

Hearing An'an's shouts, Yu Yin rushed over to see what had happened.

An'an sat on the edge of the bed with her head down, looking at her hands with a very aggrieved expression.

“Mom, look.” An’an put her hand next to her sister’s hand. She hadn’t noticed how dark An’an was usually, but in comparison, the dark and light colors were completely different shades.

"When An'an grows up to be your age, she will become just like you. Because the sun likes children and wants them to be healthy, it will always follow you."

Yu Yin didn't use her professional knowledge to explain to An An why she had become so dark-skinned. Instead, she used a fairytale-like tone to make her understand that being dark-skinned was a sign of health.

An'an quickly accepted her mother's explanation. She was originally an optimistic and open-minded child, but she suddenly felt wronged because she was provoked by her sister's hand.

An'an kissed her younger sister and ran out again, saying she wanted to pick fruit. At this point, she had already forgotten about whether it was dark or not.

In March, school started and Lu Shurui had to go back to work. Yu Yin found the old stroller that Ping An and An An used when they were little and took Kuai Kuai and Man Man to work.

"Xiaoyu, after three years, you're back to your old ways! Let me see how much Kuaikuai and Manman have grown up!" As soon as I entered the office, Sister Wang greeted me warmly.

"Wow, they've grown quite a bit! They've gained at least two or three pounds since the last time I saw them, especially Kuai Kuai, who's almost as big as her sister!" Sister Wang thought to herself that Xiao Yu really knows how to raise children. Look how well Ping Ping and An An are raised; these two can't be any less.

Yu Yin also expressed her gratitude to Sister Wang for her hard work during this period, saying that Sister Wang's workload had increased while she was on vacation.

After chatting for a while, it was time to get down to business. Yu Yin settled the child and then threw herself into her work.

Yu Yin felt like she had returned to three or four years ago, when she was taking Ping An to work. If the baby peed or soiled himself, she would quickly push him home, clean him up, change his diaper, and feed him a little more.

The days passed by at a leisurely pace. Kuai Kuai and Man Man were able to lift their heads and look around, and they could grab things and play with them. The happiest thing was that Kuai Kuai and Man Man had names.

In his letter, Grandpa Lu wrote down several names for Kuai Kuai and Man Man, letting Yu Yin and Lu Shu Rui choose for themselves.

"The letter says Lu Xiangnuan, Lu Xiangwei, Lu Xiangdan, Lu Xiangyang, Lu Xiangyu, and Lu Xiangyi." Grandpa went to great lengths to come up with so many good names.

Ultimately, Yu Yin and Lu Shurui decided to quickly name them Lu Xiangyang and slowly Lu Xiangnuan. They hoped they would be cheerful, sunny, and have warm hearts.

In less than three months, Kuai Kuai was able to roll over nimbly, while Man Man showed no signs of doing so. After 100 days, Kuai Kuai could roll over and play freely, but Man Man still wouldn't roll over.

Yu Yin got anxious and tried to coax her, but she ignored her. Yu Yin used her hands to help her roll over, and slowly she was able to roll over with her mother's help, then lay there and didn't try anymore.

More than half a month later, she still couldn't turn over, so Yu Yin took her to the hospital. After examining her, the doctor said, "There's nothing wrong. Her eyes and reactions are normal. Just observe her at home. She should be fine."

Yu Yin carried the baby home slowly and told Lu Shurui about the doctor's opinion. The two of them didn't have any other good ideas and could only wait and see.

It wasn't until she was over five months old that she was able to sit up.

Yu Yincai then saw that she slowly rolled over for the first time.

She rolled over quickly and easily, it didn't seem like it was her first time rolling over at all.

After turning over, she used her hands and feet to move forward with all her might, and surprisingly, she actually moved a little distance. Only then did Yu Yin realize that sunlight was shining through the sunshade and she slowly began to feel uncomfortable, so she thought of turning over to hide from the sun.

At this moment, Yu Yin finally understood that Manman wasn't really slow; she was just lazy!

Yu Yin told Lu Shurui about her daughter slowly turning over, and Lu Shurui proudly said, "See, I told you, how could my daughter have any problems? She just doesn't like to move."

Yu Yin didn't care about Lu Shurui's arrogance and cockiness. As long as the child was healthy and without any problems, that was more important than anything else!

Yu Yin is very satisfied with her current life. She has her own warm little home, children, and husband. She is very happy and has never been so comfortable before!

During breaks, Ah Xiang would sometimes bring her child to visit Yu Yin.

Ah Xiang now has two children, the older one a little younger than Ping An and An An, and the younger one a little older than Man Man and Kuai Kuai. Adding the three children next door, Yu Yin's yard is like a small nursery, filled with children's laughter and the occasional wailing.

Only then did Yu Yin understand the true meaning of friendship. Her heart, once tightly wrapped up and full of defenses, was now slowly opening up, letting in a little warmth—it felt so good!

When the child is asleep, in the quiet of the night, Yu Yin, like Lu Shurui, will pick up a book and read it slowly.

Sometimes it's a novel, sometimes it's a textbook I've studied.

Occasionally, when they encountered problems they couldn't solve, Lu Shurui would patiently explain them to Yu Yin. The two of them would huddle together, discussing exercises under the dim light.

The scene was somewhat like that of junior high school students, where young boys and girls, just beginning to experience romantic feelings, took the opportunity of studying to get closer to each other, but neither of them dared to break the ice.

Lu Shurui used his gentleness and thoughtfulness to gradually warm Yu Yin's anxious heart!

Unbeknownst to Yu Yin, her father was at a difficult juncture.

Yu's father and his family received a notice from the military that in the near future, the military would withdraw from the control of the Corps farms. Active-duty soldiers could choose to transfer to civilian work, either to remain on the Corps farms or to return to the military.

Yu's father joined the army in his teens and has been fighting alongside his troops in various battles over the years.

As the eldest son in the family, he failed to fulfill his responsibilities and obligations to support his parents. He was also not a good father to his children, and felt extremely guilty towards his wife.

For decades, Mr. Yu had become accustomed to life and work in the military. But after all these years, he also had to consider his aging parents, his no-longer-young wife, and his children who had not yet grown up.

Yu Yin was unaware of her father's inner conflict.

She is now living her life happily and feels that life is full of sweetness!
