A TV drama from the 90s was once the origin of Yu Yin's nightmares, and its ending theme song deeply influenced her.

Yu Yin's childhood was filled with the sounds of her parents argui...

Chapter 287 Slaughterhouse Plan Fails

Wang Wen returned five days later. He rushed to Yu Yin's house and saw his son having a great time and his wife so happy she didn't want to leave. He didn't know what to say. It was truly a case of a carefree mother raising a carefree son who was doing well no matter where he was.

"Wenye's back?" Yu Yin was quite surprised to see the three people looking at each other in the courtyard. What were they doing? Were they having sex?

"Sister Yu Yin, thank you so much. I just got off the train and I thought I would see a haggard wife and a crying child. I didn't expect that the mother and son would have so much fun. Have they both gained weight?" Wang Wen also said with a wronged tone. He naturally relaxed at Yu Yin's house and spoke more playfully.

"Congcong, look who this is!" Guan Xinyue realized that her husband had returned.

"I don't know him!" Congcong's words hit home. Indeed, they had only met once during the Chinese New Year. It had been more than half a year. What could a child possibly remember?

"It's okay, he'll remember after a few days of playing. He already remembers all the people in An'an's group." Guan Xinyue didn't force Congcong to get to know his father right away, but simply told him that his father had returned.

Congcong tilted his head and looked at Wang Wenye for a while, then ran behind his mother and hid. After a while, he peeked out again, without calling out to anyone, and kept peeking.

Several adults found him adorable.

"Have you eaten?" Yu Yin looked at Wang Wenye, who looked travel-worn. He was so eager to see his wife and children that he hadn't thought of anything else!

"No, I'm actually hungry. Can Aunt Hu make me something to eat, Sister Yu Yin?" Wang Wen was indeed hungry, and his stomach was upset.

"Have Xinyue take you to wash up. I'll have Aunt Hu cook you a bowl of noodles. We'll have dumplings for when we got on the bus and noodles for when we got off." Yu Yin went to find Aunt Hu, leaving the family of three in the yard.

"I'm sorry, I had to go on a business trip suddenly and couldn't take good care of you." Wang Wen also felt quite embarrassed. It was his wife and children's first time visiting, and he wasn't there, so they were staying in an unfamiliar place.

"It's alright, you didn't do it on purpose. Besides, it was all a coincidence. We've been getting along very well with Sister Yu Yin's family these past few days, giving the child some transitional space. It's okay, go wash up." Guan Xinyue pulled Wang Wenye to the bathroom, told him where his things were, and then left.

Wang Wenye saw that his wife, who seemed completely at ease and didn't treat him like an outsider, was finally showing her true colors!

After Aunt Hu finished making a big bowl of seafood noodles, Wang Wen also finished washing up and came out looking refreshed.

"It smells so good! Thank you, Aunt Hu!" Wang Wenye looked at the delicious-looking seafood noodles and felt his stomach was already feeling comforted even before he had eaten any!

"Eat, eat, I want to eat." Congcong smelled the food and ran in, begging his father for some.

"Put some in his small bowl, he can eat it himself." Guan Xinyue had already washed Congcong's hands and placed him in the seat next to Wang Wenye. It was the simple children's high chair that they used when they were little, and now it belonged to Congcong. She couldn't forget to take it with her when she left.

Wang Wenye was quite surprised to see his son eating so well. He wondered when his son had learned to eat on his own; he had missed out on so much.

After dinner, the family of three played in the yard. Wang Wenye mainly played with the child. By evening, Congcong had become familiar with Wang Wenye and even started calling him "Dad."

Since it was tomorrow's rest day, Wang Wen didn't rush to take the mother and daughter back. Instead, he stayed overnight and had a small get-together with Yu Yin's family.

The next day, Yu Yin was going to the factory and decided to give the family of three a ride home, since they lived in the same district.

Yu Yin went to the factory first, and Lin Dong drove them to the government's residential compound. Wang Wen's assigned house was already ready.

Having not been to the factory for a few days, Yu Yin went straight to the new office, which had already been moved in.

"Sister Yu Yin, take a look at your new office." Zhong Liang saw Yu Yin come in and quickly invited her to the factory manager's office.

"This is all done well. All the signs have been put up along the way." Yu Yin looked at the accounting office, the logistics office, the personnel department, the deputy factory director's office, and finally the factory director's office.

"Everything's all set up, and the inside is all decorated. I'll come over to your place sometime and bring a few potted plants to decorate." Zhong Liang pushed open the door and invited Yu Yin inside.

The room wasn't big, but it was simple and elegant, which Yu Yin liked.

"Great, I really like it. Thank you for your hard work! How's the progress these past few days going?"

Yu Yin was concerned about matters concerning pig slaughterhouses and the procurement of live pigs.

"Sister Yu Yin, it seems the slaughterhouse won't be built anytime soon." Zhong Liang had visited several large pig slaughterhouses these past few days, and things weren't as simple as they had imagined.

"Where did the problem lie?" Yu Yin didn't know much about slaughterhouses either, but she vaguely remembered that a certain big-name ham sausage factory had its own pig slaughterhouse.

“Location, equipment, and sewage disposal are all problems, especially sewage disposal. From what I’ve looked into, there isn’t much advanced slaughtering equipment yet; most operations are manual. And sewage disposal is even more rudimentary and crude, lacking a sophisticated sewage disposal system.” Zhong Liang looked around and found that the larger slaughterhouses were a little better, as they had some methods and procedures for sewage treatment.

Yu Yin hadn't expected things to be so complicated, but she wasn't discouraged. The slaughterhouse had to be built sooner or later; they just didn't have the capability yet.

“Okay, this plan will be put on hold for now. You and Brother Liang can select a slaughterhouse with refrigeration facilities. It doesn’t matter if the price is a bit higher. Refrigerating the pork after slaughter will greatly reduce the odor.”

This is something Yu Yin knows, and it can reduce bacterial growth, etc.

"Okay, I'll get this done as soon as possible. Brother Liang and his team have made quite a haul; they've got their hands on pigs from several pig farms and chicken farms as well." Zhong Liang handed the investigation report that Brother Liang had given him to Sister Yu Yin.

"Okay, this can't be rushed. We still need Brother Tan and the others to check on them and make sure the pigs are healthy. Also, before each pig is brought in, Brother Tan and the others need to help check the pigs' health. Don't think it's too much trouble."

The slaughterhouse can't be built for the time being, and we need someone to oversee the entire slaughtering process. The waste from the cutting also needs to be properly disposed of. Are we selling it to the slaughterhouse now? Yu Yin hadn't really paid attention to where the remaining waste went during this period.

“We used to hand them over to the slaughterhouse, but I think it’s not worth it. We use meat, but the bones, ribs, offal, and pig’s head also take up a lot of weight from a pig.”

Yu Yin knew this too, but they rushed online and hadn't really thought about it in detail.

“Zhong Liang, go check the market prices for pork bones and offal in the next few days, and also check the prices for cooked food. If that doesn’t work, we’ll have to find another way.” Yu Yin felt that if the slaughterhouse couldn’t be built, it wasn’t impossible to develop another additional product.

Selling ham sausages takes time; she needs working capital, so she has to come up with many ways to do it, which puts a lot of pressure on her!

Zhong Liang understood Yu Yin's idea and thought it was a good idea.

“Okay, Haifeng and I will go together. They have the most manpower right now. Let’s get things sorted out first, then increase production, and we won’t have any worries.”

Yu Yin also agreed with this view: you can't run before you're on your feet, or you'll easily fall.

Take it one step at a time, with a steady and solid approach!
