Chapter 475 Hiring someone to take care of you

Lin Xiaoxiao's belly grew bigger every day, and her mother-in-law became a little anxious. Seeing that Bai Hehua was anxious about giving birth, Han Qiushi found a relative to come and help, and moved to the new house to take care of Lin Xiaoxiao.

My neighbor and I had a simple visit, studying and taking care of our pregnancy at the same time.

Knowing that Lin Xiaoxiao had gone to the hospital for a check-up again today, Bai Hehua was a little worried. Without thinking, she grabbed one of the small chickens weighing only two or three pounds from the backyard and killed it in a few quick movements.

Originally, I planned to wait until she was in postpartum confinement before doing these things, but right now Lin Xiaoxiao's health is more important. The chicks are more tender, and it's not too much for Lin Xiaoxiao to eat one.

If you go out to buy meat now, you probably won't find any good quality meat. Young chicks are much more suitable.

After boiling a pot of water and cleaning it thoroughly in less than half an hour, I quickly added some mild and nourishing medicinal herbs to the pot and let it simmer slowly.

Not long after, Lin Xiaoxiao and Han Qiushi returned. Hearing the aroma of stewed chicken, Han Qiushi couldn't help but ask, "What delicious food did you cook today?"

"I heard you were going to the hospital for another check-up, and I was worried something might happen to Xiaoxiao, so I caught a little chicken to help her recover." As he spoke, he walked towards the kitchen to check if the chicken was cooked. If it was, he would bring out a bowl for Lin Xiaoxiao to have first.

Seeing that Bai Hehua was about to prepare the chicken, Lin Xiaoxiao quickly stopped her: "Mom, don't go. Look at my face, I feel like I'm about to have a double chin. The doctor also said that I need to pay attention to my diet from now on and not eat too much."

"Let's save this chicken for when everyone comes over tonight."

Upon hearing this, Bai Hehua immediately stopped in her tracks. In fact, she knew that Lin Xiaoxiao could not take any more supplements or eat any more, otherwise the baby would be too big and difficult to deliver. But sometimes, when she was worried, she couldn't help but want to do something.

"Okay, then let's eat together." After saying that, she ran to her room: "Xiaoxiao, come and see, this fabric is quite soft. How about I make some for the two kids to use as diapers?"

Bai Hehua was holding a piece of beige cotton cloth, which looked brand new.

Lin Xiaoxiao touched them and said, "It's okay, Mom. We don't need so many diapers. I saw that the Overseas Chinese Store sells cloth diapers. I'll try to buy some so we don't have to wash cloth diapers every day."

"Don't underestimate a small piece of fabric; it needs to be washed many times a day."

Bai Hehua nodded: "Okay, I'll listen to you on that. I just think the fabric is softer and won't hurt the child's skin, and it won't irritate the bottom."

"How about we do it like this, half and half? That way we won't wash too much."

Lin Xiaoxiao turned to look at Bai Hehua. Bai Hehua had been tending to the house and the surroundings for some time now, probably because she was worried about Han Qiulin. Her hair had lost its luster.

Don't be fooled by the fact that you stay at home all day and don't have to be exposed to the wind and sun. There are so many things to take care of at home. Later on, when you can't move around much, you'll probably need Bai Hehua to come and help with everything.

Lin Xiaoxiao couldn't bear to see Bai Hehua so tired. More importantly, she didn't want to see such a beautiful lady become overshadowed by these trivial matters.

So he told her his plan, so that Bai Hehua could be mentally prepared.

"That's fine, but you don't need to do these things anymore. Qiushi and I have already discussed it. My belly is big, so in another month, we'll find someone to help take care of the baby. Mom, do you know anyone you can recommend?"

"If someone wants to come to our house to help take care of the kids, I actually have someone in mind who would be perfect for this job."

Upon hearing that someone had actually been chosen, Lin Xiaoxiao immediately smiled and said, "Okay, then I'll have to trouble Mom to ask around for me. If they're willing to come, I'll offer them 35 yuan a month, including room and board. But they'll have to take care of two children, so it probably won't be too easy."

"You can rest assured about that. Han Qiushi and Han Qiulin, although they can be cunning at times, were quite well-behaved when they were young and easy to take care of. Otherwise, I would have been worn out into an old woman by those two long ago."

"I reckon your child will be easy to take care of. I can even lend a hand. You can rest assured," Bai Hehua said.

Seeing that Bai Hehua was one of the youngest among her peers, Lin Xiaoxiao had no doubt about what she said: "I'm relieved to hear you say that. I'm not afraid of having children now, I'm just afraid that I won't be able to control them in the future."

"You're overthinking it. As long as they grow up in a healthy family environment, it's hard for them to go astray. Plus, your aunt is a sensible person. With so many people around the two children, I don't believe they can be raised as bad as they should."

Lin Xiaoxiao: "Auntie? Mom is the one you said would come over to help take care of the kids?"

“Yes, they are all close relatives. Compared to outsiders, they will definitely care more about the child.” Bai Hehua had actually been mentally selecting who would be suitable to help when Lin Xiaoxiao said she wanted to ask for help.

After mentally searching for a while, I immediately had a candidate in mind.

"It's the one who brought us hazelnuts and peanuts last time she came to our house. My aunt is a very honest person. Although she is a bit quiet, she is very sensible. Otherwise, her children wouldn't be raised so well."

The aunt they were referring to was a member of the Han family. Although they all lived in Beijing, their development was still far behind that of Old Master Han and his family. Most of the aunts came from working-class families and very few of them worked in companies.

Seeing how well the Han family was doing, whenever they gathered together, the relatives would greet them with smiles and flattery. The cousin's family was honest and not good at talking. When they met people, they spoke sincerely but awkwardly, which actually earned them some favor from Old Master Han.
