The top metaphysical expert Sheng Wanwan died after being struck by her master's lightning tribulation. She transmigrated into the body of a baby, becoming the legitimate daughter of the Zhengu...
"Okay! You guys wait here, I'll go in and take a look around." Chu Wanwan said, letting the survivors she had rescued from the mall get into the armored vehicle, and instructing Qinglong to protect them, before entering the mall alone.
The first floor of this shopping mall was a supermarket, and sure enough, just like the Hope Base building, all the food and daily necessities in the mall were looted.
The rest were mostly useless items in the apocalypse, such as cell phones, computers, various appliances, pots and pans, etc.
After clearing out the strange beasts on the first floor, Chu Wanwan put them all into her spatial storage, regardless of what they were.
The second floor is a clothing market, where some clothes were also taken. However, judging from the scene, there were very few survivors who came to the second floor to steal clothes. After all, it's the apocalypse, and who has the mind to dress up?
Chu Wanwan stored all the clothes into her spatial storage.
The third floor was a food court, but most of the items were broken and unusable, so Chu Wanwan skipped it.
The fourth floor is an entertainment center with various entertainment facilities, all of which Chu Wanwan stored in her space.
Above was the rooftop. Chu Wanwan walked over and found an iron staircase leading down to the first floor. Below that was the mall's backyard.
Chu Wanwan went downstairs, eliminated several strange beasts wandering in the backyard, and arrived at the door of a row of warehouses.
The warehouse door is a roller shutter door.
After violently breaking open the shop, Chu Wanwan collected all the supplies inside into her spatial storage before slowly leaving the mall.
Chu Wanwan stood on the roof of an armored vehicle and continued towards the power company. Along the way, she rescued about a hundred more survivors. When the armored vehicle couldn't hold any more, Chu Wanwan had Qinglong take them back to the Hope Base.
When they saw the Hope Base, with its water, electricity, and rice, their eyes shone with disbelief. They had never imagined that in this apocalyptic world, there could be such a peaceful place, with ample food and water, and a stable power supply—a haven of peace amidst the chaos.
"This...this is Hope Base? We're really saved!" A young woman was so excited she couldn't speak coherently, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Thank you, Fairy! Thank you to everyone at Hope Base! We can finally live in peace!" The man in the suit expressed his gratitude again, his voice choked with emotion.
"Waaaaah... I thought I wouldn't live more than a few days, and I was just waiting to die! But now I'm alive again... Waaaaah... The fairy is my second parent, my life belongs to the fairy! From now on, I'll do whatever the fairy asks me to do!"
"Me too!"
"Me too……"
Inside the Hope Base, all the survivors are grateful to Chu Wanwan.
Seeing this, Liu Xin smiled and prepared food and water for them, telling them to eat and drink their fill and then rest.
However, most people did not rest; they simply ate, washed up briefly, and then went downstairs to help clean the building.
Before long, Si Mingye's group also brought back many survivors. Like the survivors rescued by Chu Wanwan, they were filled with endless gratitude and awe towards the Hope Base.
Among them, some had struggled desperately in the ruins, some had narrowly escaped death from the pursuit of monstrous beasts, and others had almost given up hope under the dual torment of hunger and loneliness. However, the moment they stepped into the Hope Base, all their suffering seemed to vanish like smoke.
"This place is simply paradise!" an old man exclaimed, his hands trembling as he accepted the steaming rice that Liu Xin handed him, his eyes moist.
"Yes, I never thought that I could have a hot meal and a clean drink in this kind of world." A young mother hugged her child tightly, her eyes shining with hope.
At this moment, Hope Base truly became the hope for all the survivors...
Chu Wanwan led her people to the power company, first eliminating all the strange beasts inside, and then sending technicians in to inspect and repair them. After leaving three celestial beasts to guard the place, she led the newly rescued survivors to a plaza not far from the power company.
Chu Wanwan waved her hand, and a huge spiritual energy shield enveloped the group of people.
The group of survivors, numbering around twenty, curiously reached out and touched the cyan spiritual energy shield that appeared before them, causing ripples to spread across the area they touched.
"What is this?" a pretty girl asked.
"A spiritual energy shield to protect you! Stand here and be the bait!" Chu Wanwan said, taking out a small speaker from her space. As soon as she turned it on, melodious music filled the square.
Not only that, Chu Wanwan also attached a sound transmission talisman to the speaker, which allowed the music to travel to even farther places. After doing all this, Chu Wanwan created a small spiritual energy shield for the speaker and placed it next to the large spiritual energy shield.
"My Lady, no! No! This is too loud! The surrounding beasts will be attracted soon!"
"No! Fairy, you can't leave us here to lure away the beasts. What if this thing called a spiritual energy shield isn't strong enough?"
"Fairy sister, please let me out! I'm scared!"
The survivors expressed their worries and fears, looking at Chu Wanwan with uneasy eyes.
"Don't worry, this spiritual energy shield is very sturdy and can protect your safety." After saying this, Chu Wanwan disappeared without waiting for their reply.
The survivors were terrified, but there was nothing they could do, as they found themselves unable to break through the seemingly fragile shield or escape its range.
