Chapter Ninety-Seven (Loop Playback)

Fang Fang woke up early in the morning to a barrage of text messages on her phone. She was puzzled. As a typical office worker, she didn't have much social life. Could it be that her company had gone bankrupt?

Out of curiosity, I opened my phone and found that more than a dozen apps that I had uninstalled a long time ago were all sending me messages with similar titles.

Fang Fang didn't bother to look closely, and instead opened a short video search to find out how to completely block personal information on uninstalled software.

The blocking process was too tedious, and Fang Fang didn't have the patience to download the software one by one. She only watched for less than three minutes before successfully convincing herself to start watching short videos.

Half an hour passed in the blink of an eye, and it was only when the alarm clock reminded Fang Fang that it was time to eat.

Since it was the weekend and she finally had a day off, Fang Fang didn't want to cook for herself, so she decided to use the vouchers she had previously bought to have a big meal at the newly opened buffet restaurant.

As soon as Fang Fang stepped out of the subway station, she keenly sensed that something was wrong with her surroundings.

After "Idol Producer" ended, the posters on both sides of the subway were not taken down. Over time, Fang Fang had become accustomed to this kind of setting, so she only noticed something was wrong when it was suddenly changed.

Ever since seeing their last performance, she's become a casual fan of the Super Boys, naturally developing a fondness for them. She doesn't specifically search for their work, but she'll stop to take a look if she comes across their latest news.

She would even step in to fight back against fabricated and outrageous rumors, so she approached and examined the posters more closely.

"Xiao Mian looks so cool this time!"

"Their stylist is always very dedicated; everyone's outfits suit them perfectly!"

"If there were more stylists like this in the Chinese entertainment industry, I wouldn't have to keep seeing my sister wearing ugly clothes."

"But why did they suddenly change the poster? Weibo crashed, and I still don't know what happened."

"Super has released a new song, look, it says so on the poster, doesn't it?"

Fang Fang turned her head away and saw that there were quite a few people doing the same thing as her. The difference was that she was alone, while they were a group of people chatting and discussing.

Noticing Fang Fang's gaze, one of them quickly tugged at his companion's sleeve, and the others shut up and smiled at her apologetically.

Fang Fang shook her head to indicate that she was not disturbed. The two exchanged a friendly look and then walked out at the same time.

Upon arriving at the buffet restaurant, Fang Fang was surprised to find that they had the same destination, but they just smiled amicably and had no intention of traveling together.

From the moment Fang Fang entered the restaurant, she felt that it was somewhat unusual. She only realized the problem was the music after taking a plate of grilled meat.

She had never heard this song before, but it was surprisingly catchy. After listening to it on repeat a couple of times, she could hum along a few lines.

And for some reason, she felt full of energy after listening to it.

This was fully demonstrated in her appetite; while enjoying her meal, Fang Fang couldn't help but feel sorry for the restaurant owner, as if she had played the wrong music.

After they had almost finished eating, the waiter apologized and said that two people wanted to share a table with her, and as compensation, he could give her a ten-yuan coupon.

Fang Fang readily agreed, of course. Who could understand the allure of a ten-yuan coupon to a working stiff at the end of the month!

She shared a table with a young couple, a man and a woman. The girl was very gentle and generous, and even smiled apologetically at her when she sat down.

Fang Fang didn't intend to talk to them much. After nodding and greeting them, she headed straight for the dessert area, planning to grab a few small cakes, have a quick chat, and then leave.

When she got back, she heard the two young lovers arguing in a low voice. Being a gossip by nature, Fang Fang slowed down her eating and started listening.

"Why is this store playing the same song on repeat? It's like they're crazy. I'm so annoyed by it. I'm going to ask them to change it."

The girl stopped him, "What are you doing? Didn't you see the poster outside? The owner of this shop is a fan of Super. It says outside that it will only be played on repeat for one day. Moreover, this song was created to encourage trafficked women. I think it's good to play it on repeat."

The boy scoffed, "What's so good about it? Doesn't this kind of song encourage rural women to abandon their husbands and children? What will happen to their husbands and children if they run away? Who will do the housework? If someone really runs away because of this song, how many families will be torn apart? You women are just selfish!"

The young woman paused in her grilling, "You actually think that way? Let's break up!"

The man's voice rose in anger, "Are you sick in the head? You actually want to break up with me because of a song?"

The young woman rationally retorted, "I'm not breaking up with you because of this song; I'm breaking up with you because I've seen you clearly through this song."

“Everyone has the right to pursue their own happiness. Those women who are trafficked to the mountains are already unfortunate, but you also want to deprive them of their right to save themselves and take it for granted that the victims will continue to sacrifice for the perpetrators.”

The young woman looked directly into his eyes and asked, "If we get together in the future, will you still make the same demands of me?"

"I think you're obsessed with your idol." The man angrily smashed the bowl on the ground.

The sudden noise attracted the attention of many people.

The young woman seemed to be just as clueless as anyone else, appearing quite flustered in the face of this situation. The man, however, suddenly felt a surge of theatricality, his neck veins bulging as he loudly proclaimed how much he loved her. Yet, the young woman wanted to break up with him because of her obsession with celebrities.

They were trying to portray the young woman as a madwoman, and she, clearly unaccustomed to such a scene, cowered in a corner, silently weeping.

Just as Fang Fang clenched her fists and mustered her courage to step forward, a burly man reached out and shoved the man aside. "Buddy, stop acting. I heard everything you said. What kind of skill is it to bully a little girl? If you're so capable, come out and have a go with me."

The man who makes a scene in front of his girlfriend becomes like a little chick in front of the tattooed man, but he can't bring himself to back down, so he makes baseless accusations: "Why did you stand up for her? Have you two been hooking up for a while?"

Before the tattooed man could answer, a hand appeared on his shoulder, with the same tattoo and the same shoulder width. She stretched her neck and said, "If you don't want to train with my boyfriend, you can train with me instead."

The man fell silent, but after taking two steps, he shamelessly came back and said, "I can't have this meal because of you, so you have to pay me back."

The young woman paused for a moment, then smiled wryly and took out her phone. She really hadn't expected that she would have talked about something like this over such a long period of time.
