Chapter 15 The Secret in the Shop: An A-Rank Follower Appears

"Bang! Bang bang bang!"

Several gunshots rang out, carrying far into the night.

Su Lin, who had just reached the entrance of the mall, stopped and looked up in the direction of the sound, staring at the distant source of the gunshot.

"Brother Su, did you hear that?"

"Yes, someone must have escaped."

Su Lin nodded. The rhythmic gunshots seemed to carry a hint of joy, and the direction from which they came was precisely the nearest escape point.

This team escaped relatively quickly, successfully leaving the game before the first day was even over.

But Su Lin believed that someone must have escaped faster, because that was in line with human nature.

"Isn't this a battle?"

The fat man scratched his head, somewhat confused, and continued to feel the box.

He trusted Su Lin's judgment, muttering to himself, "We're on one team, Su Lin killed one team, we encountered one team that ran away, and another team just escaped... There are at least ten teams left in this match, right?"

The fat man couldn't judge the situation of the other teams, nor did he know if they had fought each other. He could only make inferences based on the fact that there were the most teams.

"Hey, are there still so many teams left? Tomorrow's the last day, are we going to run into them again along the way?"

The fat man sighed; he really hated fighting.

Rather than being fought by other survivors, he hoped to stay in one place and safely and happily search for zombie boxes and various supply points.

"Luckily, I still have Brother Su. He's so strong, even if we encounter other teams, it shouldn't be a problem, right?"

Song Daqiang was uneasy. He looked up at the mall entrance again and found that Su Lin's figure had disappeared. Brother Su had gone inside.

"Hey, hurry up and finish searching these."

Song Daqiang quickly lowered his head and got back to work; he dared not stay alone in the dark for too long.

After Su Lin entered the underground mall, the NPCs inside were cheering and celebrating something. Su Lin listened for a while.

They seemed to know, for some peculiar reason, that the zombies outside had been eliminated, and were celebrating that they wouldn't be trapped here any longer and could go out to gather new survival supplies after dawn.

"Is it due to the quest completion mechanism? The NPCs reacted quite quickly."

Su Lin silently observed the expressions on these people's faces; he couldn't yet determine whether these guys were truly alive.

Even if they are truly normal human beings, they are still affected by the mission mechanics and cannot discern the irrationality of the survivors' appearance, which is simply too tragic.

To be forever kept in the dark, to become the backdrop of someone else's game, to be the most insignificant grain of dust in countless eras.

"Hey, what are you doing here again!"

Several men stepped out from the crowd and berated Su Lin: "Why are you here again! Your friends have all left, why aren't you leaving!"

"I'll stay here and wait for dawn."

Su Lin spoke calmly, not paying much attention to the men's malice, his gaze still fixed on the locked shop doors.

He inexplicably found himself back here, and was just listening intently to what was happening inside when these men stopped him.

"Get out! If you want to stay, find somewhere else to stay and don't get in the way!"

The men were eyeing him menacingly, about to reach out and shoo Su Lin away. This time, Su Lin didn't hold back and directly drew his revolver, pointing the dark muzzle at the men.

There are no survivors here, so he no longer needs to hold back any trump cards.

"scare!"

The men stood frozen in horror, too terrified to move.

"Damn it, this guy has a gun!"

"Brother, don't be angry! We were blind to your greatness. Do as you please."

The men apologized hastily, but were unwilling to leave, staring longingly at Su Lin.

"Go, open these shops."

Su Lin shook the muzzle of his gun and calmly gave the order, causing the men to hesitate slightly.

"Smack!"

The revolver fired, and flames flashed.

"Bang!!"

A man's right thigh was smashed on the spot, all the flesh and blood from the root of his thigh turned into powder, and blood rained down.

"Aaaaaah!!!"

The unfortunate man instantly collapsed to the ground screaming in agony. Before his screams could last long, he was overcome by the pain and passed out.

The commotion attracted the attention of more NPCs. Men and women alike looked over in horror. Amid the chaos, women screamed and men fled in panic, trying to hide deeper into the crowd.

The large-caliber weapon had a great effect in establishing authority. The crowd that Su Lin's gaze swept over stirred up a chaotic swarm of squid, with everyone trying their best to avoid Su Lin's scrutinizing gaze.

What are you still standing there for?

Su Lin's gaze fell on the men in front of him. They were already terrified, covered in cold sweat, their scalps tingling, and they dared not move at all.

"Disobey or die!"

It wasn't until Su Lin reprimanded him again that a man emerged, trembling and spasming, and pulled out his keys to open several shops.

As the doors of several shops were opened, a strong stench of blood and rotting flesh rushed out, causing Su Lin to frown uncontrollably. In contrast, the men who opened the doors didn't seem to have much of a reaction, as if they were already used to it.

Su Lin's gaze swept quickly across the shop, and his originally calm expression faltered slightly.

He saw it.

The shops were filled with all kinds of refrigeration equipment and freezers, and the floor was covered with ice. The temperature in several rooms was extremely low, with a chilling white mist permeating the air.

On the ceiling, several pieces of pink flesh hung upside down with iron hooks, and ice blocks were also stuffed with various pieces of meat tissue.

Su Lin frowned deeply, his gaze fixed on the top of the shop.
