Searching for the truth amidst the fog,
Tracking down the murderer through danger,
Born for truth, dying for truth.
That night, after dinner, Mu Jiang found a toolbox and some gasoline from somewhere. He dragged Ouyang to the truck, with Dahai and Xiaohai each holding a flashlight high in their hands. It made her feel like she was on an operating table, but the person she needed to save wasn't a person, but a dilapidated car.
Ouyang squatted down and first checked the tires, then the various parts in the front of the car, finally filled the car with gasoline and sat in the driving seat.
Starting the car was a bit difficult, but it was successful. The car "coughed" forward and the three children caught up with it carrying things.
"Hey!" Mu Jiang shouted from behind, "Stop."
He stepped on the brakes and let them get on. Ouyang looked at the quiet village and asked, "Dahai, is there really no one who wants this car?"
Dahai, who was sitting in the back, shook his head and said, "No one wants this scrap metal."
Ouyang still felt it was appropriate: "Do I need to tell the person in charge here?"
Dahai looked at her with some confusion: "What did you say?"
"We stole someone's car!" Ouyang looked at the confused child, "We have to explain it anyway."
"These are the things on the island, like shells and crabs, just take them!" said the sea.
Mu Jiang and Ouyang looked at each other. People like them who had lived in the city for too long could never understand the principle of "take it if you want".
Ouyang drove the car to the main road in front of his house, thinking of asking the hostess what to do the next day.
But the next morning, when Mu Jiang woke up, he saw their hostess taking care of the two cars. The hostess and her two children always got up well, and today, in addition to making breakfast, they also cleaned the cars.
When the hostess saw Ouyang, she said happily, "I didn't expect that this car would be repaired by you. No one in the village wanted to repair it."
"Auntie," Ouyang looked at her, "We drove the car back here without the consent of the villagers. Shouldn't we tell someone?"
"It's okay," she said. "If you really don't want to worry, I'll go to the village chief's house and tell him that you've fixed the car."
"Then I'll give you the money," Ouyang said. "Judging from Mu Jiang's attitude, I'm afraid we'll need this car for a while."
"No need," she smiled. "You can drive if you want. Besides, you still have to pay for gas yourself."
Ouyang still felt embarrassed, so he gave her some money and asked her to give it to the village chief as an expense for the village. This way, they could borrow money to run their business during their stay on the island.
Mu Jiang, who slept very late last night, came out, looked at the car outside, and said, "I'll drive away later."
Ouyang looked at him strangely: "Can you drive?"
Mu Jiang shook his still dazed head and said, "Who can't drive?"
But he really drove the car away and took Dahai and Xiaohai to school, and maybe he would pick up a few more friends on the way.
Ouyang helped the hostess clean up the house, and then went outside to start the day's work. In addition to fishing, the people on the island also artificially cultivate some seafood such as clams, crabs, sea fish, and kelp.
In the midst of his busy schedule, Ouyang couldn't help but take a break in the woods, enjoying the lunch brought by the hostess from home, and resting facing the sea.
Suddenly, she was attracted by a sound behind her, put down what she was holding and walked towards the source of the sound.
Someone was picking coconuts from the tree. She looked at the man on the tree. He didn't realize someone was watching him from the ground. He just focused on cutting the last bunch of coconuts and then slowly slid down.
When he stood firm, he saw Ouyang standing behind him.
"Hello!" Ouyang greeted first, "I didn't mean to scare you."
The other party looked at her and asked: "Are you from the city?"
She nodded.
The other man didn't care and started picking up the coconuts on the ground. When he got the largest coconut, he knocked a hole in it with a knife and handed it to Ouyang: "Take it!"
She took the coconut and looked at him: "Thank you." The other party was still busy with his own things.
Ouyang felt that his sudden appearance must have disturbed him, so he left silently, walked back to his original place, and sat on the leaf he had just sat on.
After eating and drinking, she felt sleepy again. She leaned against the tree trunk behind her and gradually fell asleep.
Just like the day before, it was Mu Jiang who woke her up.
"Hey!" Mu Jiang held up the fish in his hand, "Are you this sleepy every day? Do you have to sleep on the beach?"
Ouyang blinked and noticed a car parked in the distance: "Is school over?"
He put down the fish in his hand, and it had to be said that the fish was very fresh, and it jumped up from the ground.
"I didn't go to class in the afternoon." He sat down next to Ouyang.
"Why not?"
"It's boring," he said. "School is boring. Nothing is as interesting as this sea."
She checked her phone. It was past three in the afternoon. It looked like he had really skipped classes. She hadn't been optimistic. She had thought he would quickly integrate into life here.
"If you don't want to go, then don't go!" She also hardened her heart, "Your life is your own, no one can force you to do anything."
Mu Jiang looked at her: "Are you confused after sleeping?"
When they returned, someone had already delivered the things Dongya had sent to the hostess's house. Mu Jiang couldn't wait to open the package, find his own clothes and snacks inside, and returned to his room.
Ouyang looked at the pile of things and could only wait for the hostess to come back before deciding how to distribute them.
