Chapter 96: The Death of Officer Shan

"She's been traumatized!" Ouyang Zishan checked her eyes. "Let's go to the hospital first."

"No," Dong Ya stopped her, "She can't go to the hospital in her current condition. Send her back home directly."

According to Dongya's arrangement, they sent her on the plane and arranged for a doctor there. The two of them boarded the plane again and arrived at the location Linglong sent them.

They gradually approached: "Bang, bang, bang!" Several explosions rushed into the sky, causing the plane to experience some fluctuations.

Linglong and Fenwu on the ground contacted them, and they blew up the drug factory, shocking the entire drug industry. The police began to intervene in the investigation and seized a large amount of drugs and guns in the underground warehouse.

They returned home safely, and Huamao was anxious to see his sister, not caring about his own injuries. The police were busy with their harvest and had little interest in bothering Huamao. He had to get his sister off the drug habit before then, so that even if they were caught by the police, he could rest assured that his sister would be able to live on her own.

"Hong Feng!" Linglong saw the name on Dongya's phone, "Is he the next target?"

"That's right."

Hong Feng has now replaced Officer Shan, so if they want to deal with him, they will probably have to put in some effort.

When they came back this time, the four of them changed their clothes at the mall and went directly to Officer Shan's memorial service.

Four people walked into the memorial service. Whether they were police officers, relatives, or friends, they all looked at them. Dongya saw the police officer named Hong Feng. Linglong placed the flowers in her hand next to Officer Shan. Fenwu, who was walking to the right of Ouyang Zishan, reminded her: "Your family is here."

She simply took a quick look, took the incense Fenwu gave her, and bowed deeply three times with them. She walked down the stairs and looked at Jin Lu. He gave her a familiar feeling, and she really remembered what he looked like.

Linglong whispered in her ear: "Officer Shan's wife!"

She withdrew her gaze, followed them, and went over to hug Shan Cong's wife and son.

Dongya looked at Officer Shan’s son and said, “You will definitely be very brave!”

"Ouyang?" Xiaoxue looked at her. "You're back?"

Linglong hadn't expected that she also knew Ouyang Zishan, so she stepped forward and said, "We just came back from our trip and heard about Officer Shan. We're really sorry!"

"Thank you for coming to see him!" Although her husband never mentioned anything about his work, she knew something about it from others. They used to be her husband's right-hand men, but they were no longer under his command.

Ouyang Zishan followed behind them. Linglong began to regret not asking Ouyang Zishan to write down some things in the morning, and now let her deal with these embarrassing problems.

Fenwu walked behind them and found Wang Yao and several of her family members coming in this direction. He went up to stop them and said, "Sorry, we have other things to do. Please stay!"

Zhuo Qiang was about to go over to help him out: "Look at you, kid," he patted Fenwu on the shoulder, "you don't even know how to respect your elders. Go and do whatever it is you need, and remember to come home for dinner after you're done."

"Thank you." He caught up with Dongya and the others and got in the car.

The whole family felt sad as they watched them leave.

Jin Lu pulled Zhuo Qiang to the corridor: "Uncle Zhuo, what do you know?"

"Jin Lu," Zhuo Qiang said to him, "If you love her, you must first learn to let go."

Xia Yue, who was at the corner, heard what they were saying. She waited for Zhuo Qiang to leave, then walked out and saw her brother standing there motionless. "Brother, what on earth does he mean?"

He turned around, looked at Zhuo Qiang's back, and asked loudly, "So you let go of Aunt Mu?"

Zhuo Qiang didn't turn around and let him say whatever he wanted.

"And let her fall in love with someone else?"

Xia Yue was a little confused about Jin Lu's abnormal reaction, but when he mentioned Ouyang Zishan's mother, he wondered, "Is Aunt Mu still alive?"

"Alive," he looked at his brother, "maybe with Mr. Ouyang."

This was the best news Xia Yue had heard recently. She thought Ouyang Zishan would be very happy if he heard this news, so she began to think of ways to find Ouyang Zishan.

Wang Yao was very worried about her two sons' recent condition. They were always thinking about Ouyang Zishan, and the last thing she wanted to see was the two brothers turning against each other. Her husband suggested that they all return to Chongqing, saying that the children were grown up and no longer needed their care, so it would be better to let them go.

"You're trying to comfort me," Wang Yao patted her husband's hand, "so I can out of sight and out of mind, right?"

"What else?" the husband said, "Staying here won't help them, and it will only make them upset."

"Go back if you want," she agreed. "When children grow up, they should venture out and face challenges. Only then will they realize that only mom and dad can selflessly dedicate themselves to them."

"You have a sharp tongue but a soft heart."

"It's just pitiful for Ouyang," she thought about buying her a house. Even if she was sick, they would have enough money for her to live on. "I don't know when she will get better."

"It will be fine," her husband comforted her. "Medical conditions are getting better and better these days. Maybe in two years we'll have the technology to do it."

"I hope so."

They returned to the basement. The old lady had taken good care of the house, and their lizard seemed to have gained weight. Linglong opened the refrigerator and said, "Grandma even saved some vegetables for us!"

"What are we going to eat now?" Fenwu is a carnivore and has never liked vegetables.

Linglong was their master chef. No matter how simple the ingredients, once she cooked them, they would become incredibly delicious. Ouyang Zishan looked at them, and in that instant, a familiar scene appeared before her eyes. Just like now, there were Linglong, Fenwu, and Dongya. But that moment passed, and she could no longer grasp anything.
