Chapter 200: Subconscious Mind

"Raziah, My daughter,"

The solace she needed right now. Seeing her mother was like having everything desirable in this world, and she ran over with tears falling from her eyes and hugged her mother. Her mother’s outstretched hands and how she hugged her back tightly was priceless.

In her cold subconscious mind, her mother was here with her. The outside world can wait. Raziah does not usually feel this happy.

They both sat on the snow, "Mother...," Raziah murmured with more unshed tears.

"Before you say anything, don’t forget I killed you first. And, don’t forget there was no other choice but to end me. "

Raziah kept sobbing, and her mother took her head and placed it on her shoulders.

"You’ve always been so strong even while you were breaking inside. I’m sorry you had to witness all that. I’m sorry we didn’t have enough time to love each other Properly and I’m sorry I was so hard on you," Her mother whispered against her ear, softly nuzzling Raziah’s scalp who wouldn’t stop crying, "You know something. When I first gave birth to you, you refused to cry or move for like ten minutes. Jennet and Your father were doing everything they could, and I think that affected me so badly that I might have suffered temporary memory loss. But they never gave up, and you finally cried. It was the best thing I have ever heard," A tear ran down Mirabai’s face, thinking back to the time.

Raziah’s birth had been nothing sort of a miracle because according to the Silver book, it was said that healers are infertile and cannot give birth.

But Raziah and Her mother have broken that curse, and if there happened to be other healers whose wills are strong enough, the curse would continue to get broken and healers would eventually become fertile.

"You were very active when you were a child. I could not take my eyes off you for a second, and you were always smiling and laughing. That was probably now Savannah grew to like you so much because you were fun as a little kid, and was so happy to be around you,"

"Savannah...," Raziah cried, hugging her mother tightly.

"Her sacrifice that night was something done out of love. She did it for you to survive, and I’m sure wherever she is, she’s glad you did."

"Maria... She...,"

Mirabai sighed, "She rose us from the dead to seek revenge. I wouldn’t have thought in a thousand years that Maria would be the one to whom Hera’s powers were transferred to. Hera must have passed away a few hours after I did since our lives are connected. The four of us."

"Maria’s gone too. Three of us did. Malcolm, I, and her. But I was able to bring Malcolm and myself back to life. Do you think Fabia’s dead too?"

"Not exactly," Mirabai replied, "Residing within Jennet was a watchful deity, and when she died, the deity was transferred to a descendant of the family but it wasn’t Fabia."

"Caius," Raziah said.

"Exactly. Since Caius is the one possessing the supernatural ability, he would have been the one to also die while the three of you were dying. In fact, he might have died but no one noticed. They may have thought he was asleep, or if he suddenly fainted Fabia might have been trying to revive him. And when you guys came back to life, he managed to scale through too,"

Now that Raziah thought about it. At the time she had died, Acacia, Fabia, and Caius had escaped from the forest through the back trying to protect Cleandro. Raziah was too busy fighting to know what had happened after that.

"Why didn’t Maria come back too then?"

"I don’t think she wanted to. Also, she must have exhausted her powers reviving so many strong creatures. If she comes back to life, she would only be weak and easily captured."

Raziah sighed, "What about my fight with Aragon? Did he... defeat me? Is that why I’m here? Am I also dead? Did I fail to accomplish my mission?"

It was Mirabai’s turn to become quiet.

"He destroyed everything that night. I watched as he trampled on everything you and father spent so much time to build. If he hadn’t been born, Kaneria would still be standing tall. I loved Kaneria so much...and in one night, everything became covered in blood and tears."

"That’s why you want revenge?" Her mother looked at her, uncertainty in her eyes, "That is why you want to wipe out everything that isn’t normal?"

"Yes," Raziah nodded fervently, "There’s nothing I hate more than whatever isn’t normal. Humans should be the only ones living on the planet. Those things don’t deserve to exist at all. Not in this world, and not in any other world,"

"Would such a heinous act make you happy, Raziah?"

"Aragon stole my happiness, and that was you, mother!" She fired back, heavy tears striking the ground from her eyes with her eyes even colder than before, "He took away what we had. Everything we’ve worked for was stolen from us that night. I had to sit there and watch everyone sacrifice themselves for me because of that monster. I have to a year of my life trapped here! Trapped in my mind battling demons and training myself because of him. I eventually got married to the enemy himself, stupidly fell in love, and allowed him to put a child inside of me. Years of my life I spent regretting why I didn’t step out of that box sooner, and I went through so much trauma that night I temporarily forgot that creatures like that existed after I woke up. I was confused for years! They did what they wanted that night, and I’ll do what I want back. An eye for an eye,"

Mirabai squeezed her eyes shut, trying to hide the pain again, "Do you know why he targeted me that night? Why he tortured me so much that night?"

"Because he thinks you assisted some witch in making him go through hell. He took you to be someone else! That is a big mistake I’ll make sure he...," Mirabai placed her hand on Raziah’s, and Raziah looked into her mother’s eyes with a soft stare, "What is it? Why are you looking at me like that?" Raziah demanded gently, a disgusting feeling churning up inside of her.

"Let me tell you a story, Raziah," Her mother said, "I’ll make it as short as I can. I can’t remain in here with you for much longer. I have to cross over,"
