**She was ice. He was fire.
And none of them were willing to melt, or quench the other.**
Princess Raziah Octavius, the stran...
She was back there again.
A landscape stretched out and covered with snow. There was no ending to the journey, and the familiarity of it all told her she was now in a very deep dream state. It was still snowing softly, and the sun has never been out for as long as she had been trapped here the last time, and it still wasn’t out this time too.
Staying cold was always her forte though, so she didn’t mind.
Raziah sat down on the cold sand of snow and stared ahead into the fog that swarmed over the horizon. She thought she wouldn’t want to be back at first, but after witnessing what was truly happening back there, then she wouldn’t mind staying here for as long as possible.
Raziah knew she would fall sick soon, and it started when she healed Maria. She had overexerted herself and unlocked something that should have been kept hidden inside till her time was up. Watching Maria slowly die from that anguishing pain had been nerve-racking which had everything else occurring on its own, and that was when the chain reaction had begun.
Then, everything came crashing down upon her. The poison in the arrow that had her fainting, then the whole scenario about the kings and her leaving Sabaean with two extra people. Her husband being kidnapped, and the way he had changed so drastically that it was scaring her to death- and worst of all, the existence of Vampires and witches.
Now that they were all around her, how was she supposed to keep up the solid act when they keep reminding her of what happened? It doesn’t matter what they say or do, they were all monsters in her eyes, and when she eventually wakes up which she will, then she would make sure to do the needful even if it’s the last thing she does. She already promised herself years ago, and that promise had been her life mission. All that was holding her back was the most important piece to show up, and they would get the ball rolling immediately. She needed to be patient for now.
But, she had already made herself suspicious in their eyes. Now that she knew she had been battling against Vampires and not some drugged-enhanced human beings, she didn’t know how to defend herself when they asked her how she was keeping up with their superhuman movements. The whole thing was so complicated!
Raziah fell back on the snow, staring at the sky but the haziness had covered everywhere. She wished to see her mother just like the last time she was here, at least even if it was just the sound of her voice or laughter, or even if it happened to be some unrealistic images of her.
Even if it’d last just for a second.
Or Malcolm. She wanted to see Malcolm too. She wanted to go back to Naria and see him. He had gone through so much because of her, and she knew she would never be able to repay the kindness he had shown her, and the shield he had provided her countless times in the past. Malcolm was like the greatest warrior she’s ever met- no one could par with his skills. He was worth more than ten thousand men, but to her, he was priceless.
Pretending she didn’t feel anything on her wedding day had been hard because she was already missing him even before they left the grand castle that night. He was always watching her whenever they were together, and she wasn’t sure if she recalled it properly, but there was a time during the celebration when she had seen Malcolm and Ms. Ophelia talking to her newly wedded husband about something. She wasn’t sure though since the thought never came to her after that, perhaps her mind was playing tricks on her. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Suddenly, a wave of heat struck her. Raziah’s brows creased as she sat up and looked around, but it was still snowing. Then where did that come from? She almost thought she had imagined it all when goosebumps racked through her skin, and a shrill ran down her spine. The feeling was all too familiar, and there was only one person who could threaten her with this torridity of his. A low groan escaped her lips as she made to stand up and leave the area completely, but she didn’t make it past two inches before an invisible force dragged her back.
There was a rush of warmness flooding her skin, and she wanted nothing to do with her. Her struggling was proving futile as this unseen force of blazing heat had pinned her completely to its cage, trapping her completely against it. She could feel it traveling through her body, warming her up thoroughly, and also giving her a very hard time.
She hated it.
She hated the warm feeling. She wanted it gone.
She didn’t want to lean on it. It would do her no good when she eventually wakes up since she’s only such a ’ good ’ wife to it.
Raziah suddenly paused. Wait, is he trying to offer her his comfort because she was sick? It sounded so outrageous just thinking about it after all that he told her the last time they talked, and that was when something struck her mind again. Why did she care so much about what he said? The part that annoyed her most was when he brought her mother into the conversation, and she had gone into the forest where she could be alone to display her raging emotions.
She had let him win, but he shouldn’t for a second think that was enough to make her back away because she would keep coming back for him, and she would keep doing as her mother wants!
Oh, that’s right. Right now, her husband wants her to feel his heat right? And according to her mother’s words, she should always stand by her husband and obey him, so why not? Raziah’s eyes twitched with a wicked kind of fury, then she stopped struggling against his hold.
This was what her mother wanted, right? Yes, since he knows now that she’s only doing all this because of her mother, then he should understand right now too that she didn’t give in because of his perseverance or because she felt he was stronger, or even because he had somehow succeeded in melting her, let it wash over him that she, on her own Accord, would never do anything for him!
