Chapter 46: What He Seeks.

After severely warning her nephew not to touch anything and just keep to himself till they were done, Fabia and Etta could now be found inside the bathroom crouching behind the unconscious princess whose body was buried in the foam water in the bathtub, apart from her head. The tub was designed to let her body lay comfortably in it, and a soft support to hold her head.

When Fabia had first dragged Aletta here, where his Majesty luckily wasn’t anymore, she had explained how the process would go, but Etta had thought the doctor had been joking. Many things had shocked her greatly since she got here, but none could be compared to what she was looking at right now. It wasn’t just any kind of water the Princess had been dipped in, it was actually boiling water! 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

There was so much steam evaporating from it, and the whole bathroom had become very warm. Streaks of sweat ran down Fabia’s forehead as she dipped a towel into the water, painfully squeezed the hot water out, and massaged the towel over the princess’s face. Aletta had so many questions- Why is the woman so cold in the first place? Isn’t she gonna burn? Why are they doing this to her? Is she really still alive? What the hell is up with the whole place generally?!

"Are you...sure the water should be this hot?" Aletta found herself whispering, her gaze moving back and forth between the princess and the doctor.

"It should even be hotter, but we can’t keep it boiling longer, or else the three-hour interval would be displaced," Fabia replied ever so relaxingly.

"Hotter? But...I’ve never heard of an illness that makes someone’s temperature so low. I thought humans get a higher temperature than normal when they fall sick. Does it have to do with the injury I saw on her earlier?"

"Trauma and overexertion. For someone like her, that is likely the cause of all this,"

"Did she...also go to war? I saw how the kingdom looked like on my way here,"

"From what I was told, there were perpetrators from the inside. A few unexpected events went down, but now that his Majesty is back, everything would be back to normal soon. And yes, she did go to war and these claw cuts all over her body are what happens when you battle a vampire. She’s lucky she didn’t get bitten."

Aletta’s notion about the doctor’s relaxing self vanished the second she noticed how hard Fabia was squeezing the towel she had dipped into the water.

"Would she have turned into one of them if she got bitten?" Aletta enquired, before reaching out to take away the towel from Fabia. The emotionally exhausted woman let the towel slip away from her hands and let Aletta continue massaging Raziah’s face.

"Turning a human Into a vampire requires special blood, and it’s forbidden to turn a human. Royals can do that without stress, but they also have laws upon turning someone into their kind,"

"Witches?"

"I’ve never heard of the word ’ Turned witch ’ before," Fabia Looked up at the redhead, "You don’t know much about these things, do you?"

"No, I was a very isolated person. I recently started traveling around," Aletta responded with a tight smile, "When is she most likely to wake up?" She quickly changed the topic.

"Depends...on how long she chooses to ignore this world,"

"Huh?"

Before Aletta could ask what Fabia meant, the main door outside opened. Thinking it was Caius and his mischief again, Fabia pulled up to her feet and had just unlatched the door and stepped outside when she found his Majesty right there, staring directly at Caius.

W...what happened?

"I’ll say it the second time." Caius didn’t take his eyes off Aragon. There wasn’t even a shred of fear in him as he stood right in front of Fabia, who watched in sheer horror, "She won’t let you."

Fabia quickly ran over and placed a firm hand over Caius’s mouth, effectively shutting him up, "I’m so sorry your Majesty." She said breathlessly with trembling lashes. She didn’t dare look into his eyes as he walked past her into the bathroom.

"I’ll do the rest myself." He said audibly for the three of them to hear, and Aletta came out of the bathroom scurrying away like a squirrel with the other two close behind her.

Aragon was already taking his clothes off even before he saw her lying there. He made sure that he had stripped himself of every layer of clothing he had on him before he finally looked forward at the woman with her eyes closed.

He moved closer to her and stepped into the hot water without batting a lash. Making sure that his body was settled into the soapy and medicinal liquid comfortably, he reached out and pulled away the towel that was wrapped around her body, tossing it away from anywhere close to them.

Next, he pulled her toward him by slipping his arm around her slender waist, her head now resting on his chest. He laid his head on the walls of the bathroom as they stayed in that position. He made sure she was also in a comfortable position with her body sitting on his legs. She was still so very cold, and that was what he seeks right now.

He constantly needed to cool down the fire blazing in him, and her body temperature was just about right for him.

Then, Raziah stirred in his arms.

A low groan escaped her lips, right before she made to pull away from him. Her eyes were still closed, and she was still very much unconscious yet her subconsciousness had detected his warm presence, and it was very much the last thing she wanted right now. Raziah was fighting against his vice grip around her waist and was determined to win and get herself back to her earlier position.

She wasn’t letting him touch her. She won’t let him.

But Aragon won’t let her either.
