A big-shot and his young wife, tropes and subversions of tropes - when it comes to love, whoever falls first loses.
The first meeting:
From the female lead's perspective: Hmm, that ...
A new chapter begins.
When Su You returned to their apartment in Seoul, sunlight was streaming into the living room through the floor-to-ceiling windows. She had just placed her camera on the coffee table when she heard hurried footsteps outside the door—footsteps she knew all too well; even after two years, she could still recognize them instantly.
The sound of the key turning was somewhat hurried, as if it couldn't wait to push open the door that had been closed for too long.
The door opened.
G-Dragon was still in his casual clothes, looking travel-worn, clutching his phone tightly as if afraid of missing any of her messages. He stood at the door, his gaze immediately locking onto her, deep and intense, as if trying to etch her into his very being.
Two years had left their mark on him—a more rugged profile, a more resolute gaze, but at this moment, all the hardness that had been honed by time melted away the instant he saw her.
He didn't speak, but strode over and pulled her into his arms. His movements were swift yet tender, as if he were holding a lost treasure that had been found again.
Su You was held tightly in his arms, her cheek pressed against his chest, able to hear his strong heartbeat. He still carried the scent of the outdoor sunshine, mixed with a faint, unique aroma that belonged only to him.
“I saw you.” His voice sounded above her head, low and husky. “You were well hidden in the crowd, but I still saw you.”
Su You lifted her head slightly from his embrace, meeting his deep eyes: "What did you see?"
“I see your eyes.” His fingertips gently traced the corner of her eye. “In the whole world, only these eyes look at me like this.”
It's not the way I look at superstar GD, but the way I look at G-Dragon—with gentle understanding, quiet companionship, and understated pride.
He lowered his head, his forehead touching hers, his nose gently brushing against hers. This intimate little gesture made them both smile—as if time had never passed.
"Let me take a good look at you." He stepped back slightly, cupped her face in his hands, and carefully traced her features with his gaze. "My Yuzu has grown up."
Su You looked at him and said, "You too, you've become even more handsome."
He chuckled softly, fine lines appearing at the corners of his eyes—a mature charm bestowed by time.
“I’ve seen the photos,” he said, stroking her cheek with his thumb. “You always manage to capture aspects of me that others don’t.”
“Because that’s the version of me that’s only for you,” he said softly, his gaze incredibly tender.
As soon as he finished speaking, his kiss landed on her lips.
Unlike the uneasy kiss when they parted two years ago, this kiss was gentle and lingering, carrying a sense of confirmation, as if telling herself again and again—he really came back, and she was right here.
Su You could feel his restrained emotions flowing between his lips and teeth—a longing that had been dormant for over two years, finally finding an outlet at this moment. She wrapped her arms around his neck, responding to this belated kiss.
When he finally ended the kiss with reluctance, both of them were a little out of breath.
“These past two years,” his voice was still hoarse from the kiss, “whenever I felt like I couldn’t go on, I would think of you writing letters under the lamp. You said you were preparing your Harvard application, and I thought, my girl is working so hard, how can I fall behind?”
Su You's heart skipped a beat—it turned out that even though they were separated by mountains and seas, their growth was always moving in the same direction.
“I received all your letters,” she said softly. “I read each one many times.”
“Then you must know,” he said earnestly and intently, “that my greatest wish is to be able to hold you like this right now.”
As the sun sets, a warm golden glow envelops the two people embracing.
"What do you want to eat tonight?" she asked, her voice tinged with laughter. "I'll make it for you."
He shook his head, tightening his arms around him: "I don't need anything, just let me hold you like this a little longer."
In the gradually darkening living room, they stood embraced in the afterglow, like two trees that had grown apart for too long and were finally coming together again, their roots already intertwined in places unseen.
"What are your plans next?" she asked softly.
"I'll spend quality time with you first," he answered without hesitation. "Then, I'll make better music and become a better person." He paused, then added, "someone worthy of the Harvard talent."
Su You smiled, her eyes curving into beautiful crescents: "You've long been worthy of him."
Night fell quietly, and the city lights gradually came on. They finally separated slightly from that long embrace, but his hand remained tightly holding hers.
“Let’s go,” he said, taking her hand. “I’ll take you somewhere.”
Where to?
“Anywhere.” He turned to look at her, his eyes shining, “as long as I’m with you.”
As she changed her shoes in the entryway, he noticed that she had set that photo as her phone's wallpaper, and a gentle smile crept onto his lips.
"Great shot," he said.
“It’s good to be a model,” she replied.
In a smile exchanged between them, the two years of separation seemed as if they had never existed. Their love had never faded; it had simply taken deep root in their respective soils, waiting to blossom even more profusely upon their reunion.
And their story has only just begun a new chapter.
