Chapter 21
There was not much difference between this place and her dream. Most of the houses and buildings were the same. She walked around, trying to remember the route in her dream, but she would forget it as soon as she remembered a little. Ayala could only find an old man to ask. She described the appearance of the boy in her dream to the old man, and the old man looked at her.
"There was such a person, but it happened a long time ago."
"how long?"
"Decades ago, when I was still a young man, a boy my age left here after his sister died."
"Do you remember where his family lived?"
The old man pointed in a direction. As she walked, she pondered the current situation. Did she dream of someone from decades ago? Judging from the old man's age, he must be around ninety years old.
Before she knew it, she finally found this place. Most of the houses around here looked uninhabited, including the one in front of her. It looked like it was sealed by a spell and no one could get in. She walked forward and touched the dust on the door, but the door suddenly opened.
The home furnishings here are exactly the same as in the dream. There is a big magic photo on the closet in the living room. The people in the photo are always smiling. The photo includes the boy, his sister, and his younger brother. The younger brother looks like the owner of the Pig's Head Inn.
She wanted to look here for anything related to the boy's identity information, but unfortunately there was nothing. Only these household items were left here, and everything else had been taken away. She sighed, left the house, and went back along the same path.
As usual, gifts were exchanged on Christmas Day. Narcissa and Lucius gave her a beautiful robe together. Other Slytherins she knew gave her the same gifts as before. Lily gave her a scarf and reminded her in the letter to remember to come to her house tomorrow. The strange package also arrived. It was the same thing as before, without the sender's name, only a lily that was enchanted to never wither and a Merry Christmas card.
After telling her aunt, she went to look for Lily at the address she wrote the next afternoon. However, Lily was already waiting for her at the door. She was wearing a floral dress and had pigtails, which looked a little different from the one she wore at school.
"Ayala, I didn't expect you to come so early. I told my mom that a friend was coming over, and she prepared a lot of food."
As soon as she entered the door, she was welcomed by the Evans family, except for her sister, her sister's name was Penny, who had been doing homework since she entered the door. There was no welcome, no greeting, and no words.
"We are happy that Lily has made friends at school, but we were worried that she would be excluded and bullied there."
Mrs. Evans was very talkative and spoke for a long time. She also brought her some snacks. After dinner ended harmoniously, Lily took her to her room.
"I'm sorry Ayala, my sister was a little rude."
"It doesn't matter."
Ayala shook his head and asked a question.
"Doesn't she like you?"
It was normal for her to be unenthusiastic towards him, since she was a stranger after all, but she was not friendly to Lily either, and even made a few sarcastic remarks to her during the meal, Lily sighed and said.
"She wasn't like this before. She has become a different person since I received the acceptance letter from Hogwarts."
"Repel magic?"
"Yeah, when I talk to my mom about Hogwarts she always calls the people there monsters."
"That's normal. There was a time in the past when Muggles were afraid of wizards and would burn anyone they caught who they suspected of being a wizard."
"But wizards can cast spells to avoid fire."
"So it's suspected. It's not that easy to catch a wizard."
Mrs. Evans also prepared a pajamas for her. After washing up, the two of them lay on the bed and chatted. Ayala thought of the boy and asked on a whim.
"Lily, do you know the name of the owner of the Hog's Head?"
"The Hog's Head? I've tried to go in there a few times before, but it never worked. The owner is very temperamental, and whether or not you can get in to drink there is a matter of chance. What's the matter with you asking this?"
"Just a little curious."
"If you're really curious, I can ask Potter for you. He probably knows."
"Potter? Don't you hate him?"
"Just a question, it's okay."
Potter was quite active on the issue of Evans. Not long after Lily sent the heart, his reply came. Lily's letter was only two lines long, while Potter's reply was two pages long.
The first half page is all nonsense, and the following few lines contain useful information. According to Potter, the owner of the Hog's Head Inn was a member of the fight against Voldemort. He and his friends persisted and became friends with him, and learned his general information. His name was Aberforth Dumbledore, and he had a sister but she died very early. The most important thing is that he is the younger brother of the headmaster Albus Dumbledore. However, according to their observation, the relationship between the two was not harmonious, which may be related to their deceased sister.
Ayala asked weakly, her eyes almost popping out when she read Dumbledore's name.
"Um...Is Potter's information accurate?"
Lily thought for a moment and said.
"Although they are annoying, I have to say that they are not wrong in this regard, and he would not use this to deceive me."
Ayala closed her eyes and tried to digest the information, but she couldn't. It was too much. So, she was in love with Headmaster Dumbledore?! And that was Headmaster Dumbledore from decades ago.
After she returned home, she still couldn't forget it, so she wrote to Lucius to ask him about things related to him and Dumbledore, but knowing this was actually useless because basically no one in the wizarding world who knew information about Dumbledore's youth was alive.
She admitted that when she saw the train to Hogwarts in front of her, she had the idea of not wanting to go for the first time, but her aunt still forced her to get on. Ayala found an empty carriage and sat down to think about it all silently.
She hadn't dreamed of the boy these days. She really couldn't understand why something sent by someone decades ago could be sent to her decades later.
When she arrived at the Great Hall, she couldn't even sit down properly with Headmaster Dumbledore. The more she looked at him, the more he looked like that boy. Finally, she could only turn her eyes to the food in front of her, but she had no appetite. She just grabbed a glass of juice and sipped it, pinching the straw into a mess.
After returning to the dormitory, she began to prepare for Potions class, which was the first period tomorrow, and also checked her Christmas holiday paper.
