Su Yan was reincarnated as a goblin, the lowest-ranked demon. In order to get revenge, he laid low frantically in the early stages.
Seeing through the wickedness of human nature, he completel...
Shalltear couldn't help but chuckle, and cast her gaze towards Su Yan, jokingly saying, "You really are good at creating all kinds of unexpected crises for us!" Facing Shalltear's teasing, Su Yan grinned and responded, "Haha, don't be anxious, this is just a small opening." After that, he turned around and walked straight ahead.
Not far ahead, a vast expanse of dense forest suddenly appeared before them. Stretching before them like a green barrier, it was a source of both wonder and excitement. Su Yan paused and gazed intently ahead, inwardly marveling at the lush vegetation within. The trees stood tall and straight, their branches interwoven and crisscrossing, forming a dense canopy of green shade. And amidst this lush vegetation, wild animals of all shapes and sizes could be seen flitting about, some swiftly running and leaping, others leisurely foraging and playing.
A low, menacing roar echoed in the air, shattering the tranquility of the forest, as if foreshadowing the onset of a fierce battle.
Su Yan heard the roars and jerked his head up, scanning his surroundings with vigilance. From the nearby woods, he saw giant wild wolves, each over two meters tall, slowly and swiftly approaching. Their sharp fangs gleamed coldly in the sunlight, their fierce eyes fixed on their prey.
"It's a forest wolf!" Shalltear, standing nearby, said solemnly. She knew the power of this wolf species well, and added, "Not only are these wolves incredibly fast, as swift as lightning, but they're also a highly social creature in this vast forest. Their coordinated efforts make them incredibly powerful. Because of this, they have few natural enemies capable of standing up to them."
Hearing this, Chen Mo turned to look at Shalltear, a glint of trust and expectation in his eyes, and then he said, "In that case, I'll leave it to you this time." He believed that with Shalltear's strength, dealing with these timber wolves should be no problem.
Shalltear's lips curled up slightly, a confident smile forming. She gently extended her right hand and pointed a finger forward. Instantly, a mysterious force erupted from her fingertips, like an invisible shockwave, hurtling towards one of the timber wolves. The wolf, struck by the force, didn't even have time to utter a single scream before its body shrivelled rapidly, collapsing to the ground in the blink of an eye into a lifeless, dried corpse.
After witnessing this thrilling scene, the surrounding wolves showed no fear or retreat. Instead, as if spurred on by some kind of incitement, they grew even more frantic. Each sturdy, inky-black wolf opened its maw, baring its razor-sharp fangs. They brandished their terrifying claws and pounced on Su Yan like a raging storm. Their deep, menacing roars—"Awooo"—felt as if the entire forest trembled.
Yet, facing such a ferocious attack, Su Yan merely raised the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a dismissive sneer. He spoke with disdain, "Are you, foolish beasts, simply afraid of her? How ridiculous! Little do you realize that the one you should be truly afraid of is me." Before he finished speaking, Su Yan swung the Ten Directions Sword, tightly grasped in his hand, forward. In an instant, a dazzling sword light burst forth, like lightning streaking through the night sky.
The sword light, carrying an incomparably sharp and terrifying aura, roared forth with overwhelming force. The sword energies crisscrossed, forming an impenetrable web of death. The once aggressive Timber Wolves had no time to react before they were instantly severed by the powerful sword energy, their bodies instantly snapped in two. Blood splattered everywhere, staining the ground beneath their feet red. For a moment, the air was filled with a strong, pungent smell of blood, and the scene was horrific.
Shalltear stood quietly by, gently shaking her beautiful, fair head, a flicker of surprise in her eyes. Clearly, she hadn't anticipated that Su Yan could so easily dispatch these hideous, vicious individuals with a single, unparalleled wield of sword energy.
Shalltear approached with light steps, waving her arms casually as if it were a trivial gesture. But at that moment, something astonishing happened—the wolf corpses lying on the ground suddenly shrivelled up, as if drained of their life force. As if drawn by a mysterious force, their blood flowed continuously into Shalltear's hands, and she then sucked it all into her stomach.
Shalltear extended her tender pink tongue and gently licked her luscious lips, a look of satisfaction on her face. "Mm, the taste of this blood is truly exquisite! It absolutely must not be wasted!" Then, her captivating eyes turned to Su Yan and she asked tenderly, "My dear, do you think there might be a guardian of this forest nearby?"
Su Yan frowned and thought for a moment, then responded: "To be honest, I'm not too sure. After all, it's really difficult to accurately judge where this guardian is. But... maybe we can explore around first." As he spoke, he looked up into the distance, his eyes deep and sharp.
Shalltear nodded slightly, agreeing with Su Yan's idea. Then, she raised her hand and pointed toward the forest's edge, saying softly, "From what I recall, the guardian seems to be located in that empty patch of land outside. Of course, this is just my guess; the exact situation remains to be determined."
