Xiao Cheng is dragged into a game world, weak, helpless, and suffering from amnesia. Faced with mentally challenged NPCs, a teammate who seems like a big shot obsessed with finding bugs, and unreli...
Xiao Cheng stared at the passage with a blank expression.
Then, expressionless, he closed the book and tossed it aside.
Then, expressionless, he lay down on the bed, peacefully preparing to sleep.
What a unique female lead!
She was internally cursing a million times. He might call it abstract, but it actually had a realistic basis, since the mosquitoes that suck blood are all female mosquitoes, damn it!
This book caused her such a significant psychological letdown that as soon as she closed her eyes, she could almost hear the buzzing of mosquitoes in her ears.
It wasn't until she felt a ticklish, real sensation on the side of her neck that she realized something seemed wrong.
There really are mosquitoes here!
Xiao Cheng raised her hand in anger and slapped it hard. The gust of wind from the slap seemed to stir something, and the cold, sticky touch against her face felt even more real than before.
No, this isn't a mosquito.
The buzzing in her ears suddenly stopped, replaced by a soft giggle. Xiao Cheng was startled, opened her eyes wide, stood up abruptly, and launched a flying kick towards the direction of the sound.
However, the kick missed.
A giant mosquito with a human face flapped its wings and slowly took flight, barely avoiding her attack, before crashing to the ceiling. The pale woman's face was turned upside down, bearing a stiff, fake smile, her empty eyes fixed on Xiao Cheng.
"Giggle."
She laughed, her long black hair cascading down like a waterfall, almost touching the bed, swaying slightly with the gentle trembling of her body.
"Giggle, giggle."
Her laughter gradually changed tone, becoming increasingly shrill, until finally, she imitated a human voice, speaking indistinctly to Xiao Cheng: "Hehe, do I look pretty?"
Xiao Cheng clenched her fists, but she couldn't fly to the ceiling. She could only mentally give the middle finger and then silently and righteously accuse, "You're so beautiful, you mosquito leg!"
"Hehe, I know, you're complimenting my looks." Mosquito Girl shook her head smugly, causing her long hair to swing vigorously, splattering the unidentified slime on the sheets and emitting a cloyingly sweet fragrance.
"You complimented me on my looks before, and you like me." A hint of shyness appeared on her usually expressionless face as she awkwardly avoided Xiao Cheng's gaze. "I like you a lot too. I like you so much...so much..."
She emphasized in a devout tone, "I want to be your family."
"I'm sorry, I don't have a hobby of keeping pets at the moment," Xiao Cheng politely declined. "So you should just go back to where you came from."
Mosquito Girl paused for a moment upon hearing this, then gave a very aggrieved look and sobbed softly, "But you clearly...you clearly..."
Its body suddenly began to swell, its translucent abdominal cavity bulged, and dark red blood seeped out from inside.
As its body grew larger and larger, its head began to deform as well, and its mouth continued to elongate, forming a sharp mouth with a ring of fine hairs.
Then it suddenly flapped its wings and swooped down toward Xiao Cheng. Just as it was about to reach him, its body suddenly swayed and then inexplicably disappeared into the bright light.
Xiao Cheng turned around and searched for a long time, but still found nothing. The mosquito girl seemed to have never been there; apart from the gradually drying sticky residue on the sheets, she left no other trace.
Where did they go?
Xiao Cheng frowned slightly, stopped what she was doing, and prepared to wait for the voice-activated light to turn off before it reappeared.
Just then, a muffled thud came from the next room.
Then came the second woman's hysterical, piercing scream.
Xiao Cheng was stunned for a moment, then rushed out, turned around and went to the door of the next room, kicking the door open without thinking.
The door slammed heavily against the wall. The room was deathly silent. The dim candlelight flickered weakly, looking as if it might go out at any moment.
Number One and Number Two were frozen in the middle of the room, a little far apart. Number Two was almost unable to stand, half-paralyzed on the ground, her whole body trembling.
Xiao Cheng walked in slowly, and following the direction of her finger, she slowly shifted her gaze to Number One by the flickering candlelight.
He stood there in an odd posture, facing the doorway, his face deathly pale, his forehead almost entirely covered in cold sweat. His lips moved slightly, emitting meaningless hissing breaths.
The second woman was on the verge of tears. She struggled for a long time, using both her hands and feet, before she could finally stand up. Her legs trembled as she slowly backed away until her back hit the wall, at which point she visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
Xiao Cheng didn't speak rashly; she quietly stared at the extremely long shadow cast by Number Two.
The shadow stretched all the way to the wall, a long, thin line, with a slight bulge at the back, as if it were carrying something on its back.
Then the shadow of that thing began to slowly wriggle and expand, eventually becoming distinct from its own shadow.
Behind Number One, Mosquito Girl slowly poked her head out, her thick, sticky black hair falling onto Number One's body, forming clumps like twisted ropes that tightly bound him inside.
"Giggle."
The female mosquito stared in Xiao Cheng's direction, its sharp proboscis rubbing against Number One's neck, as intimately as lovers.
Then the mouthparts slowly sank into the skin, and a line of bright red blood meandered down from the wound, while a larger portion was slowly sucked into her abdomen.
Her abdomen swelled even more, swelling into a thin layer like a balloon, as if it would burst open with the slightest touch.
"Hehe, red." Her laughter grew increasingly strange, like the dry, grinding sound of bones colliding.
Then, having sucked her fill of blood, she withdrew her mouthparts with a satisfied expression, and her face returned to that of a normal woman.
She casually pushed the stunned player number one aside, and the swollen mosquito body suddenly began to stretch continuously, pulling out normal human limbs like clay.
She walked gracefully towards Xiao Cheng, naked, her long hair cascading down, the sticky liquid covering Player One's body like real silk.
"Giggle." She let out a human-like giggle, staring intently at Xiao Cheng, her voice sounding ethereal and distant, "Look at me, am I beautiful?"
