Chapter 38 The Fatal Travel Group (2)

The bus traveled along a deserted, remote road.

The tour guide sat alone in the back seat of the bus, swinging his legs listlessly, almost falling asleep.

Xiao Cheng stared blankly out the window. The start of this instance was too calm, and she had a bad feeling.

"Miss Xiao, Miss Xiao," Xu Chu called softly from behind, peering through the gap between the seats, "Did you see that?"

"Which one?" Xiao Cheng looked out through the windshield of the bus in the direction he was pointing, but saw nothing as far as the horizon.

"That, that... the woman in red." Xu Chu gestured with his hands to describe the woman. "Red dress, long hair, standing in the middle of the road. Can't you see her?"

He looked very nervous, his muscles tense. Xiao Cheng noticed the veins on his neck, looked at his expression thoughtfully, and replied, "Ah... I can't see."

"How could this be? It's so close, right there, the car is going to crash..." Xu Chu became somewhat anxious.

But before he could finish speaking, the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes, and the bus lurched forward before coming to a stop with a sharp screech of brakes.

The tour guide nearly fell off his seat, hastily tidied his hair, ran to the front, pointed at the driver, and yelled, "Do you even know how to drive?!"

The driver waited silently until she finished yelling before explaining, "There's someone here; she wants to get on the bus."

As soon as he finished speaking, the bus door creaked open automatically, and Xiao Cheng stared in disbelief as a figure suddenly appeared outside the door.

She was barefoot, wearing a bright red knee-length dress, with long hair and pale skin that revealed purplish-red veins underneath, making her look unlike a living person.

"I'm talking about her," Xu Chu whispered to Xiao Cheng. "She's standing right in the middle of the road, didn't you really see her?"

"Hmm, so you're saying, is it possible that it's not human?" Xiao Cheng looked at the guy next to him with a puzzled expression. "To put it more bluntly, what if it's a ghost?"

Xu Chu pursed his lips, shook his head decisively, and said, "Impossible, there can't be ghosts in this world."

Xiao Cheng: "..." Dude, are you preaching materialism in a dungeon?

On the other side, the tour guide walked impatiently to the woman with the red lettering. He originally wanted to send her off, but after seeing the number badges that were faintly visible under her hair, he immediately changed his expression.

"Wow! You arrived so early!" The tour guide brushed aside the woman's hair that was hanging down to her chest, revealing the badge pinned to her clothes.

The material is similar to Xiao Cheng's, but the number is upside down, and there's an extra ring of complicated lace around it, so you can barely make out that it's a 2.

"Congratulations, tourist number 2! She's your travel companion for the rest of the trip!" the tour guide exclaimed in an exaggerated tone. "This is a wonderful surprise! The seat next to you is reserved for her!"

Xiao Cheng looked at Xu Chu with sympathy. He was practically pressed against the car window. Despite his large size, he had left half the seat empty, making him look pitiful.

The bus started moving again, and the woman in red, with her head slightly lowered, walked over and sat down next to him without saying a word.

The badges on their chests lit up with white light one after the other, and translucent chains extended from the badges, then merged with each other to form a complete chain, before slowly disappearing into nothingness.

At the same time, a red rope appeared on Xu Chu's wrist, and the other end of the red rope automatically wrapped around the female ghost's wrist, binding them completely together.

Visually, the possible movement distance is no more than one meter.

Xiao Cheng saw Xu Chu unconsciously tremble, goosebumps rising on his arms. He remained huddled in the seat closest to the window, took a deep breath, and then began rapidly muttering something.

Xiao Cheng curiously leaned over and listened for a while, finally realizing that he was reciting Marxist philosophy.

After a long while, as if he had finally mentally prepared himself, he rubbed his face vigorously and said to himself clearly, "It's okay, this girl is an NPC."

Then he sat back down properly, with a very friendly smile, and extended his right hand to the woman in red: "Hello, miss, it's a pleasure to travel with you."

Xiao Cheng: "..." I've never met such an indescribable person.

The bus didn't travel smoothly for long before it braked suddenly again. This time, a woman in an orange dress boarded, looking exactly like the woman in red, and also wearing a badge with numbers pinned upside down on her chest.

She is Player 3's travel companion.

The scene from before repeated itself, with the red rope connecting their wrists. Player 3 was mentally prepared and didn't seem flustered, but still deliberately kept the maximum distance from the woman in orange.

The tour guide looked at them with a sinister smile and said in a chillingly high-pitched voice, "You'll get along very well."

Over the next half hour, three more women boarded the bus, ranging from yellow to blue, and sat in a row. Together with the woman in red and the woman in orange in front, it was practically a bus full of rainbow-colored people.

Now all that's left is for Xiao Cheng to find a travel companion.

The tour guide smiled, his face crinkling with wrinkles, and gently reassured her, "Don't worry, just wait a little longer. Tourist number 1 certainly deserves the best."

Another half hour passed while they waited.

The bus drove steadily and quickly, and the tip of the amusement park castle could already be faintly seen in the distance.

Xiao Cheng stared blankly at the driver's shiny bald head, when suddenly she caught a glimpse of a black car speeding toward them.

The car was traveling in a strange direction, with its rear end swinging back and forth with huge amplitude, and the wheels leaving black S-shaped marks on the ground.
