The Great Pirate Era.
The great seas surge and churn, powerhouses destroy and annihilate, each fighting their own battles. It's utterly—
Demotivating!
I, Russil Kuro, age tw...
Inside the main gate is the interior of the castle tower, specifically the first-floor lobby.
"All troops, deploy your forces and guard the exits. Don't let a single pirate escape!"
Upon entering, Sazir gave a shout, causing the navy to spread out in a line around the entrance, forming a defensive formation.
The hall was littered with people, almost covering the floor. Among them were pirates from the Beasts Pirates and samurai from Wano Country. Some were dead, with blood everywhere, while others were unconscious and lying there.
Kuro glanced at them and clicked his tongue, "Now we can't sense them at all."
He couldn't sense anything with his Observation Haki either. In fact, the closer he got to the castle tower, the more mixed the aura became. Conqueror's Haki and battle aura intertwined and merged into one, causing Kuro to be unable to sense anything at the moment.
"Wow, that's amazing! So many people lying here, they'll catch a cold, Uncle is worried," Moore joked from the side.
"Come on, Moore, focus." Kuro glared at him, then said, "Kro."
Upon hearing this, Kro stepped forward, bent down without any disgust, picked up some blood from the ground with his fingers, and licked some into the ground with his tongue.
"Um..."
He closed his eyes, as if reviewing something, and after a while, he slowly said, "First there was a battle, then Conqueror's Haki appeared. I don't know which level it came from, but the rest of the people were stunned by the Conqueror's Haki."
Immediately, he opened his eyes and said, "Mr. Kuro, there is a strange aura in the blood. It must have been picked up by someone passing by, but it has been preserved in the blood. Three living people have stayed here. One of them is worth noting. He is very cold and strong, and has some wolf-like characteristics. I don't know anything more about him."
It wasn't his own blood, but rather a faint trace of something hidden within it, which Kuro, whose Devil Fruit abilities were becoming increasingly refined, licked out. That's what made it so strange.
He had studied the Beasts Pirates, and with Drake, a member of 'Sword,' here, he knew information about the Beasts Pirates.
Kaido is a dragon, a blue dragon.
The top echelon under his command consists of three key figures, also known as the Three Disasters.
Among them, Jack the Drought, who was killed by Mr. Kuro when he was escorting Doflamingo, was a mammoth; Queen the Plague was a Brachiosaurus; and King the Flame was a pterosaur.
In the next tier of the "Flying Six," Who's Who has the Cat-Cat Fruit, Ancient Zoan type, Saber-toothed Tiger form; Black Maria has the Spider-Spider Fruit, Ancient Zoan type, Rose Tarantula form; Sasaki has the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Ancient Zoan type, Triceratops form; and the siblings' sister Ulti and brother Page One also have the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, with the former being an Ancient Zoan Pachycephalosaurus and the latter an Ancient Zoan Spinosaurus.
We won't consider anything further down the line. The aura of those other 'real fights' is definitely not as strong as the residual aura emanating from this blood, but there are no wolves among them.
"A wolf?"
Kuro thought for a moment, then looked up. The castle tower was enormous, with a significant height difference between the first and second floors. However, Kuro could still faintly hear some sounds from above.
He glanced around. The area was large, and the buildings were relatively stable. He found steel in the exposed gaps. This was not a particularly classical building, nor was it so easy to destroy.
In other words, people here who want to get out either have to break through the heavily fortified outer wall and fall from a great height.
This place is quite large, with many partitioned corridors on the first floor alone, winding like a maze. It's hard to find the outer wall, so if you want to get out, you'll most likely have to go through the main entrance.
Kuro said, "Moore, you guard the exit."
Moore reached into his hand and pulled out a handful of small, white pebbles, handing them to Sazir. "Here's a beacon. Sprinkle some when you get there."
“Understood, Brother Moore,” Sazir nodded.
"Navy officers of colonel rank and above, come with me," Kuro continued.
He brought three thousand men, all elites. The lowest rank was lieutenant, and there were about fifty colonels. A naval colonel was already quite impressive. They were all skilled fighters, more than enough to deal with the smaller fry.
With Moore in charge, comparable to or even slightly surpassing Lida, it's more than enough. Plus, Moore's Beacon Fruit can provide rapid support.
There wasn't much to see on the first floor, just a bunch of miscellaneous fish. But on the way up, Kuro saw quite a few strange and unusual things.
What is this?
Lida kicked a strange man on the ground. His stomach had a monkey half-body that was also unconscious, with its tongue hanging out, and it had become one with the man.
Kuro glanced at the person on the ground and said, "Gifted One, a product of the SMILE fruit, but does this thing really have any fighting power? It feels like a burden."
That thing isn't a Devil Fruit at all; there's no such thing as transformation. It's also afraid of the sea and Seastone. Rather than being a Devil Fruit user, it's more like a fusion of animal genes and human genes—completely useless.
Kuro led his men up to the second floor. After climbing a long flight of stairs, they reached the entrance to the second floor. As soon as they arrived, Kuro saw that the corridor in front of them was in a mess.
A large hole had been torn in the wall of the corridor, with charred marks inside. A group of people were lying on the ground, two of whom stood out unusually.
He had numerous scars on his chin and neck, long purple hair parted in the middle, half of which was shaved off and the other half combed to one side, and wore a white and green horned hat.
Another one was a tall woman with sky blue and pink hair, wearing a light pink floral mask, and cow horn decorations above her ears, but her whole body was covered in charred marks.
Upon seeing the two, Kuro let out a soft exclamation, walked over to examine them, and only after confirming their identities did he turn around and say, "Mr. Kuro, these are Runte and Page One from the 'Flying Six'."
"Oh ho? These two are interesting. Let's take a look." Kuro pulled out a cigar box from his pocket, took out a steamed cigar, and lit it.
Kuro nodded, licked a little blood from beside Page One, paused, and then said, "It's Big Mom, Mr. Kuro."
Upon hearing this, Kuro subconsciously looked at the enormous hole beside the wide corridor. The hole was extremely deep, extending forward, and seemed to have a bend, its destination unknown.
"Continue." Kuro exhaled a puff of smoke.
"Yes, there were many auras. A strange creature passed by, like a dog, I don't know what it is, it was very weak. There were three people on it, in terms of aura, one was a little girl, one was a woman, and one was a man. Finally... there were the auras of Kid and Law."
Kro thought for a moment and said, "According to the intelligence we have, the starting point of the battle between Big Mom, Law, and Kid should be here. Also, this kid was knocked unconscious by Big Mom with one punch. Sazir, throw a beacon and let Moore come and move him."
They're here to observe the battlefield, and if the opportunity arises, they might even manage to pick up some loose pieces, like right now.
With Moore around, picking up scraps won't be too easy. The Kuro ship hasn't even been launched yet; it's just lying across the river. For Moore, the distance is enough. When the time comes, just put on the sea stone handcuffs, bind it with iron chains, and bring a group of navy back to the ship to guard it. It couldn't be easier.
