I Simulate Survival in a Wasteland World

In the future, Earth is no longer habitable due to thermonuclear war, world-ending earthquakes, tectonic plate shifts, species extinction, and psionic awakenings...

Qin Che, an ordinary perso...

Chapter 3 begins the simulation! The life of the underworld godfather!

Soon, Qin Che received his first meal.

After the door opened, a burly man came in. He was wearing a vest, had a buzz cut, and bulging muscles. He was carrying one or two large buckets, which were still steaming.

Eating, drinking, and defecating in bed is certainly out of the question.

The burly man glanced at Qin Che and said coldly, "This bucket is for excretion. I will stay here for ten minutes and then leave."

After saying that, he didn't explain anything, put the aluminum bucket on the ground, and scooped some food from another large bucket and placed it in front of the workbench.

He then untied Qin Che, removed the chains, and stood silently in front of the gate, watching him quietly.

Qin Che twisted his aching wrist. He knew he couldn't possibly beat this big man. As long as the man stayed in the room, he wouldn't be able to escape unless he used a teleportation spell.

Qin Che didn't say anything. He got up, ran a rinsing of the water, and then picked up his food and started eating.

This so-called food was nothing more than a paste, with little aroma and quite unpalatable, but it was still better than drinking rice porridge every day in the mining area.

After two simulations, Qin Che had a general understanding of the situation.

Dune Fortress lacks food, but its industry is relatively good. At least, manufacturing is Dune Fortress's strength; they use handicrafts to trade for food with other organizations.

Dune Fortress has minerals and oil, which is their source of revenue.

But even now, Qin Che doesn't know whether Dune Fortress is considered strong or weak among the surrounding organizations.

After all, he also knew that there was an Oasis Alliance nearby, as well as a so-called 'Wall One'.

These organizations are probably the real big shots.

Dune Fortress possesses such abundant mineral and oil resources; it would be impossible to protect them without considerable strength. Either they have a powerful military, or these people have powerful connections.

There is no third possibility.

Although the burly man said he only had ten minutes, he still waited until Qin Che finished eating before handcuffing him again. He checked the handcuffs several times to make sure they were secure before opening the door and leaving. He locked the door with a click, leaving Qin Che alone in the room again.

"Since we're here, we might as well make the best of it. Being nervous or scared is useless, so I might as well get some sleep."

After Qin Che finished eating, he felt sleepy and fell asleep soon after.

And just like that, ten days passed.

Qin Che got another chance to simulate.

He waited quietly until the burly man who delivered the food left, then closed his eyes and started the simulation.

[Wasteland survival simulator in progress.]

[At 18, although you were being held captive by Old Cigarette Butt, they were unaware that you possessed a psychic energy formula. That night, you used spatial teleportation to break free of your shackles and leave the cell. You arrived inside the fortress and, through calculations, discovered that your maximum teleportation distance was 5 kilometers. This distance would consume all your psychic energy, but you were happy because you were free.]

The next day, you were wanted. Old Smoker, after discovering your escape, quickly deduced you were a psionicist and immediately reported this to the Fortress Authority. Your wanted posters were quickly posted throughout the fortress. However, you found that your psionic energy was recovering very slowly; you had to wait a long time before you could use teleportation again. During this time, you knew that leaving the fortress for the desert would be certain death, as there was nothing outside. You decided to hide in a dark corner of the fortress and carefully protect yourself.

For two weeks, you lived in the sewers, surviving in the city's darkest corners. Dune Fortress was actually quite large, and the local government gradually relaxed its control over you. Slowly, you grew bolder, and you began to steal and rob to obtain property and food. In your quest for survival, you disregarded everything, and your mindset gradually changed.

At 19, you've been forgotten by the local government; no one will remember you anymore. You've become a professional bandit in the Black Street, a member of the Black Street boss, Geralt. Quick-witted, agile, and possessing teleportation abilities, you've repeatedly distinguished yourself in Black Street operations. You've been promoted to a Black Street officer, now commanding over a dozen men who follow your lead. Your life is gradually improving.

At 22, you followed Sand Rat into the underworld, handling various affairs for him. Your status rose accordingly, and you even gained the right to accompany Sand Rat to meet with high-ranking officials of the Fortress Government. You discovered that the local government was extremely corrupt, so you secretly plotted, using your accumulated wealth and going to great lengths to finally meet a high-ranking official with Sand Rat's help. You successfully bribed him, and your previous wanted status was completely deleted from the Fortress Government's records. You began to secretly cultivate your own power.

At 27, after five years of management, you've transformed yourself into a member of the elite in Dune Fortress. You regard Geralt as a father figure and have gained his trust. He gradually transfers power to you, intending to groom you as the next godfather of the underworld. You begin to appear more frequently in high society, and your power grows steadily. Even some high-ranking officials in the Cabinet have to rely on you. You've selected several high-ranking officials, invested in them, and supported their rise to power. You want to weave a world and its rules that belong to you.

[At age 30, war broke out between Dune Fortress and its surrounding forces. You had already learned of the war through various channels and invested in the weapons manufacturing industry for many years. Your plans began to take effect. Due to the excessive corruption within the Cabinet, many people needed your support and financial assistance. Your status even surpassed that of the King of Dune, making you the leader of the fortress's underground forces.]
