Chapter 2 A Strange Small Space

“Drip, drip…”

Jiang Che, who was in a daze, heard the sound of some instrument. He opened his eyes with difficulty and saw only white.

I just felt my throat was so dry that it felt like it was smoking and there was a smell of rust, and my whole body was swollen and painful, which was quite uncomfortable.

“Water, water…”

"Xiao Che, you're awake. That's great. Big brother Xiao Che is awake."

A dark-faced man suddenly appeared in front of him. It was his second uncle Jiang Yunhai whom he had not seen for a long time.

Jiang Yunshan, who was taking care of his wife on the bed next to him, heard it and ran over immediately.

Seeing his father appear, Jiang Che forced a smile.

"Dad, Second Uncle, what's wrong with me? Why can't I move?"

Jiang Yunshan didn't sleep all night, his red eyes were filled with tears. Two of his closest relatives suddenly fell ill overnight, which made this grown man's temples turn white with worry overnight.

"Good boy, it's good that you're awake. Don't worry about anything else for now. Do you feel uncomfortable or dizzy?"

Jiang Che shook his head. He didn't feel dizzy, but he couldn't feel his legs, which made him quite uneasy.

"I'm not dizzy, Dad. I'm awake now. Do you have any water? I'm very thirsty now."

Jiang Yunshan wiped his tears and nose, then immediately said, "Okay, Xiao Che, wait a moment. I'll call the doctor to see if you can drink water now."

Jiang Yunshan rushed out of the ward and shouted, "Doctor, my son is awake, please come and see him."

Soon, noisy footsteps were heard outside, and then three or four doctors in white coats walked in.

A male doctor in his thirties took out a flashlight and walked over.

"Young man, I didn't expect you to wake up so quickly. Cooperate with me to check."

Jiang Che nodded. The doctor came over and opened Jiang Che's eyelids. The flashlight shone on him, and Jiang Che's pupils shrank instinctively.

The doctor tried both eyes, then listened to the chest with a stethoscope, and finally stood up and held up a finger.

"What's this?"

"one."

"What about this?"

"Four."

Jiang Che answered honestly because he didn't want to make his father and second uncle worry.

The doctor put away the flashlight, put his hands in his pockets, turned around and said to Jiang Yunshan.

"The child is in good condition. There's no brain damage, but we can't rule out other internal injuries. Our doctors are currently consulting with him and the results will probably be out by this afternoon."

Jiang Yunshan breathed a sigh of relief, finally hearing good news.

"Thank you so much, doctor. You've worked so hard. My child wants to drink some water. Is there anything taboo?"

"That's not the case, but don't drink too much. The child is not able to move around easily right now."

After giving the instructions, the four doctors left the ward.

Jiang Yunshan immediately ran over to pour a glass of water and fed it to Jiang Che.

After drinking half a glass of water, Jiang Che felt better and his throat was not so dry anymore.

"Dad, where's my mom? Didn't she come?"

Jiang Che suddenly thought of his loving mother. If she knew that he was injured so badly, she would definitely not be able to accept it.

"When your mother saw you buried under the rocks, she fainted from shock and hasn't woken up yet. She's in the bed next to yours."

Jiang Che was shocked! He quickly struggled to turn his head and looked over. Sure enough, he saw his mother, Chen Xiuzhi, lying on the bed. Even though she was unconscious, her brows were still tightly furrowed.

"Don't move, kid. The doctor said your mom is just frightened. It's nothing serious. She will wake up soon."

Jiang Yunshan hurried over to hold down the moving Jiang Che. The doctor told him that the child's waist was hit by a stone. From the tone of his voice, it seemed that the injury was very serious and he couldn't let it get worse.

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have come back at this time. If I hadn't come back, nothing would have happened."

Seeing his mother like this, Jiang Che felt very guilty.

"What nonsense are you talking about, silly kid? How can you be blamed for this? If you want to blame someone, blame God. Why is it raining so hard?"

Jiang Yunshan hurriedly comforted Jiang Che, saying that natural disasters and man-made disasters are difficult to avoid, and no one can escape from such a situation. It is a blessing to be able to save one's life.

"Okay, okay, stop imagining things and sleep a little longer. When you wake up, your mom might be awake too."

The seriously injured Jiang Che was indeed a little listless, and coupled with the excessive blood loss, he soon couldn't hold on and fell asleep.

"Brother, you haven't slept all night, go get some rest! Leave this to me, don't let them wake up and you fall down again."

The tired Jiang Yunshan patted Jiang Yunhai's shoulder without saying a word. He walked to Chen Xiuzhi's bed, lay down on the edge of the bed and fell asleep.

After Jiang Che closed his eyes, he appeared in a dark place in a trance, with a green bead slowly spinning in front of him.

Out of curiosity, Jiang Che reached out and touched it, and the scene instantly changed and he appeared in a different space.

"What kind of place is this? Am I dreaming?!"

Jiang Che found himself floating in the air in an illusory form. Looking around, except for the three or four acres of land under his feet and the pool in the middle, the rest of the place was shrouded in fog.

With a thought, Jiang Che landed on the ground, his bare feet on the ground. The fragrance of spring soil lingered in his mouth and nose. He squatted down and grabbed a handful of soil. Judging from Jiang Che's professionalism, this was top-grade black soil.

It is even several times more fertile than the black soil in Northeast China. You can even squeeze out oil if you put some force into it. Everything seems so real.

When he reached the edge, Jiang Che felt an invisible barrier when he touched it. He couldn't get through it no matter what. It seemed that his range of movement was limited.

Turning around and looking at the clear pond in the middle of the land, there grew a small tree in the middle of the pond that looked like it was made of jade. This might be the only living thing in this space.
