My name is Lu Xiaonan, and I am a doctor. Three days ago, my friend Su Ming told me that the entire world would face a catastrophe and fall, and to be prepared. At the time, I didn't believe hi...
(Third update today, more three updates tomorrow)
I was lucky to be familiar with the hospital, which allowed me to outmaneuver them and delay them for a while. Otherwise, I would have been caught long ago.
"I wonder who these two guys are. Their clothes don't seem to belong to Fei Lichao's unit. I hope I don't run into them again," I thought to myself.
Along the way, I knocked over a lot of monsters. At first, I was worried that I would damage the car, but after hitting quite a few monsters, I found that the car was still fine, so I was relieved.
After leaving the hospital, my wildly beating heart calmed down, and when I came to my senses, I found myself covered in cold sweat.
That's true. I was on edge the whole time, so it's understandable that this happened.
I'm taking the side road now because there are fewer cars and people on the side road, so there are relatively fewer monsters.
After driving around in a big circle, I turned the steering wheel and headed towards the air-raid shelter.
I'm currently in Linshan District, and the air-raid shelter is in Longshan District. It used to take me about half an hour to drive there.
As for now, I'm taking detours everywhere, and I don't know how long it will take.
I glanced at the fuel gauge; there was still half a tank left, enough for me to drive for a long time.
The journey that followed was not smooth.
Along the way, many roads were blocked.
They were either blocked by cars or by hordes of monsters, making it impossible to get through; they had to take a detour.
We drove around for over an hour, and even I was starting to lose my bearings.
...
Around 4:30 pm, I entered Longshan District. My current location is very close to the air-raid shelter, only about one or two kilometers away. However, if I want to drive there, I have to take a detour, which is not worth the trouble.
But if I were to go there on my own, the journey would be fraught with danger and I might easily die in the mouths of those monsters.
I parked my car at the entrance of a residential complex. This complex was newly built, and not many people had moved in yet, so there were very few monsters around.
"Gurgle..."
Sitting in the car, my stomach growled twice, much to my dismay.
There's nothing I can do. I've only eaten one bag of potato chips since this morning, and I'm starving.
I just searched the car thoroughly, but there was nothing to eat!
Furthermore, this residential complex is relatively new, and there are no small shops or supermarkets nearby.
"Sigh, let's take a detour. We should be able to find plenty of food near the air-raid shelter." I sighed in the car, stepped on the gas, left the entrance of the residential area, and started taking a detour.
It's still quite safe to stay in the car.
As I continued, I discovered that the closer I got to the air-raid shelter, the more monsters I encountered along the way.
"This is really strange. Given Fei Lichao's personality, since he's in charge of the air-raid shelter, he should have sent people to find a way to clear out or lure away the monsters around the shelter. Why are there more and more as we get closer?"
I don't understand.
Finally, I circled around to the back gate of a residential area with relatively few monsters, and after entering, I parked my car at the back gate of the residential building.
As soon as I got off the bus, I ran into the back door of the residential building. There were no monsters inside, so it looked safe, which is why I went in.
After closing the back door, I tiptoed upstairs.
"Hopefully there aren't any monsters."
I murmured to myself.
"Aww!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a roar came from the second floor.
I rolled my eyes, gripped the axe with both hands, and went up the stairs to the second floor. I saw that the door of the second-floor apartment was open, and a monster was crawling at the door, trying to pry its way out.
Upon closer inspection, I discovered that this monster was actually disabled; both its legs had been amputated from the knees, making it look rather terrifying. It pawed at the ground with its hands, trying to get closer to me.
I showed no mercy, and with one swing of the axe, its head was split in two.
I stepped over the corpse and went into the room on the second floor.
The living room is large and the decoration is quite nice, looking neither luxurious nor tacky.
My gaze fell on the coffee table, where various snacks and milk were laid out. I couldn't help but swallow hard, wishing I could go over and start eating right away.
However, I didn't act impulsively. Who knows if this house is safe or not? Maybe there are monsters inside?
I cautiously and limped into the bedroom, knocked twice, and waited for a long time without any response before opening the door to confirm that there were no monsters inside.
It seems that a family of three lives in this house. There are two bedrooms, and the photos in the living room also show a family of three. The disabled person with both legs amputated is the daughter. I wonder if her parents survived.
But this has nothing to do with me; I'm just someone who's staying here temporarily.
After checking the other rooms and confirming there was no danger, I dragged the body from the doorway into the hallway and closed the security door.
"Finally safe." I laughed.
I lay down on the sofa, tore open a package of egg yolk pies and stuffed the whole thing into my mouth, then grabbed a carton of milk, inserted the straw, and took a big gulp.
I chewed it a couple of times and swallowed it. This feeling of satisfaction was fucking amazing!
During my week in the hospital, apart from the first day when I ate my fill, I was not able to eat enough for the next six days. In order to stay a few more days, I basically regulated my food intake every day, and I would wake up hungry almost every night.
As for now, I don't care anymore, I'll eat as much as I can, and we'll talk about it later when I'm full!
There are plenty anyway.
"I'm full!" After stuffing three packs of egg yolk pies, two packs of egg rolls, a pack of potato chips, and two cartons of milk into my mouth, I couldn't eat anymore.
I lay on the sofa, quietly lost in thought.
"I wonder how Wu Shuang is doing. Does she think I'm dead?"
