"Very good, my good child, grow up quickly, grow even more fiercely, and leave your mark on this city with your fiery claws."
In a dark alley, a red light flickered, and a man's frantic moans echoed through the alley like the whispers of a demon. The red light illuminated the man's face, making him appear even more ferocious.
The flames in front of him distorted the air, and sparks occasionally flew out and landed on the man's shoes, but the man ignored them. The smell of gasoline filled the air around him, and his narrow eyes revealed a fierce and crazed look. The man looked at the flames in front of him and laughed.
The man's voice wasn't pleasant; it only made people feel uncomfortable. The flames grew more and more intense. The man slowly got up and walked slowly towards the city, still muttering something to himself.
Outside the alley, Ayumi, a small girl, squatted in front of a row of gashapon machines. She put the coins in her hand into the gashapon machine, and when she heard the sound of the gashapon falling, a smile appeared on her face.
Just then, the man's voice came from the alley next to the gashapon machine: "There's only one left. When that's done, the eve of the festival will be complete, and this corrupt city will be ablaze with the flames of a red lotus."
Ayumi held the gashapon capsule in her hand, looked at the man, covered her nose, and frowned slightly: "It smells awful."
Without pausing, the man slowly walked to a car parked by the roadside, opened the door, and quickly drove away.
Ayumi remained where she was, watching the figure gradually disappear into the distance. Her long experience in investigating crime scenes made her immediately sense that there seemed to be something wrong with this man. She recognized the smell on him; it was clearly the smell of gasoline.
The temperature has been quite hot lately, and people who wear trench coats and wrap themselves up tightly in this kind of weather can only be one of two types: crazy or bad.
Ayumi naturally prefers the latter.
"Ayumi, what are you doing here?"
Ayumi's mother came out of the supermarket after buying her groceries and looked at her daughter, who was behaving strangely, and said, "We should go home."
Then, Ayumi turned around and followed her mother.
She kept this matter to herself, knowing that telling her parents would be pointless, so she figured she might as well talk to Conan and the others about it the next day.
Shortly after she left, a huge explosion resounded through the night sky, and fierce flames instantly engulfed the entire building.
...
The next day at the doctor's house
"Ding-dong"
Professor Agasa opened the door and saw Ayumi and the other two standing there. He smiled and said, "Oh, it's you guys. Come in and sit down. I'll get you some juice."
Professor Agasa walked in and called out, "Kuyou, Ai, Conan! Ayumi and the others are here to see you."
After saying that, Professor Agasa went straight to the bar to pour juice for everyone.
At this moment, Kōyū is in Ai's room, adding a frame to that photo.
Guangyou also bought the wood himself and then spent time making the frame.
After Guangyou responded, he placed the photo on the table and went into the living room.
Ai reached out and picked up the photo. After looking at it carefully for a while, she placed it in front of her computer, which was the place where she spent the most time besides her bed, and it was also the most conspicuous.
Kōyū sat on the sofa and listened to Ayumi's description. He nodded and said, "Yes, there are indeed some problems. Why don't we go to the Metropolitan Police Department now and talk to Inspector Megure and the others?"
Everyone nodded in agreement, and then they headed directly to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Upon arriving at the Metropolitan Police Department, Inspector Megure was temporarily out, so Miwako was the one who greeted the group.
"I see. What did that man's eyes look like?"
After hearing Ayumi's description, Miwako dared not be careless, because a fire had occurred just last night, and the news had made the headlines this morning.
Ayumi touched her chin, trying hard to recall: "Hmm, how should I put it, she looks a bit like a fox, and she hangs herself up like this!"
As she spoke, Ayumi raised an eyebrow and said earnestly, "That should be it."
Miwako held a notebook in her hands and carefully drew a portrait of the suspect according to Ayumi's description: "A single eyelid with slightly upturned corners."
After finishing drawing the eyes, Miwako breathed a sigh of relief and turned the notebook around to face everyone: "So, does that person look something like this?"
The man on the canvas had triangular eyes, a triangular mouth, a triangular face, and a bulbous nose. The hair growing from his head was like the quills of a porcupine, and it looked like it could be used as a weapon.
Everyone squinted at the portrait and shared their opinions.
Ayumi frowned and said disdainfully, "It doesn't look like it at all!"
Standing behind the crowd, Genta also looked disgusted: "Your drawing skills are really bad, about the same as mine."
“Exactly! It’s no different from a child’s doodles.” Mitsuhiko said with serious disdain.
Ai's sarcasm was a bit more sophisticated: "Is there no one else in the Metropolitan Police Department besides you?"
At that moment, Miwako blinked her beady eyes, her face flushed slightly from the children's comments. The air seemed to freeze instantly. Miwako felt extremely embarrassed. She thought her drawing was pretty good, but instead, she was ridiculed.
He hurriedly said to everyone, "I can't help it. Mr. Tomokawa, who specializes in portrait drawing at the Metropolitan Police Department, just happened to have a cold and is on sick leave today."
At this moment, Takagi took the notebook from Miwako's hand, looked at the horribly disfigured portrait on the page with a serious expression, and said, "I'm telling you, Officer Sato, even if no one drew it, I can't pass this on to the investigators."
