"Detective Mori, it's a pleasure to have you here!" A middle-aged man in a suit and tie walked up to Uncle Mori and greeted him. Sonoko Suzuki standing behind him confirmed his identity; he was none other than Sonoko's father, Shiro Suzuki.
Suzuki Shiro, a very gentle man, said to Uncle Mori, "Your willingness to accept my daughter's unreasonable request and come to help is truly a great help to us!"
Uncle Mori is the type who can't handle praise, and he immediately started his usual boasting: "Hahaha, he's just a thief, I, Kogoro Mori, will definitely take him down easily!"
Conan looked at Uncle Mori, who was laughing loudly, and thought to himself: "That's easy for you to say. We haven't even deciphered the code on this notice yet."
Thinking of this, Conan nudged Kousuke: "Kousuke, did you solve it?"
Kōyū nodded. Seeing this, Conan quickly asked what it meant. Kōyū replied meaningfully, "I won't tell you what it means, otherwise today wouldn't be interesting. I know you understand what I mean, but I can only hint that you shouldn't overthink it."
Conan was completely bewildered by this long string of words, muttering, "What...what does this mean? What does it mean? I don't understand what it means. Is it complicated? Hmm..."
Everyone looked at the protected Dark Star and praised it highly. Suzuki Shiro said with some pride, "Ever since my grandfather collected Dark Star, our Suzuki family has risen to prominence. It's no exaggeration to say that Dark Star is the guardian deity of our Suzuki family!"
Looking at the police officers rushing around preparing, Uncle Mori asked, "Today is only the day before the date on the notice, isn't the security here a bit too tight?"
"The notification letter does indeed say tomorrow. Just in case, that's why we started taking strict precautions tonight, because we don't know when or how Phantom Thief Kid will appear."
The guards nearby caught everyone's attention. The person in front of the guards seemed to be the leader, and later Uncle Mori said that his name was Chaki Shintaro.
Chaki Shintaro yelled at his officers, "Didn't I tell you to be careful by the river?! Send some men to the riverbank immediately to set up defenses! Remember, Phantom Thief Kid is planning to infiltrate the museum from the Tsutsumi River next to it, understand?"
Upon hearing this, Suzuki Shiro walked over to Chaki Shintaro and asked, "Huh, Inspector, have you already deciphered the code?"
Chaki Shintaro said with some pride, "Yes, the notice said it came from the waves, which means it came from the Tetsu River. Moreover, there is no other place around here that fits this description except for the Tetsu River!"
Uncle Mori was clearly an old acquaintance of Chaki Shintaro. He walked up to Chaki Shintaro and said, "Tsk tsk, Inspector, you're really lame!"
Uncle Mori, ignoring Chaki Shintaro's somewhat unpleasant expression, continued, "Don't you know that waves refer to the ocean, and the ocean leads to the plains, and stars are called 'star'? Hehehe, then the answer is self-evident! I'm talking about the idol star who's holding a live concert at the Beika Public Hall nearby tomorrow—Okino Yoko!!!"
Uncle Mori's face revealed a meaningful smile: "Moreover, Yoko's last song has been confirmed as 'Moon Girl,' which also hints at the line about the moon separating the two people. Therefore, Kaito Kid must have committed this theft at the nearby Beika Guild Hall when his live performance ended at 9 PM!"
Kōyū watched as Uncle Mori spouted nonsense with a straight face, and what was even more frightening was that Chaki Shintaro next to him seemed to actually believe it!
They actually sent people to set up something near the guild hall!
Conan wanted to jump out and say that the reasoning was wrong, but he himself hadn't figured out the meaning of the code. He glared fiercely at Kyou, who was standing next to him and hadn't told him what it meant.
Conan didn't know, and neither did Kousuke. They only remembered the date, April Fool's Day, and the location he mentioned, but they didn't know how to interpret it.
