Chapter 366 Love Letters

When Guangyou returned to the backyard with the noodles, the backyard was already filled with the aroma of barbecue.

Girls, in order to maintain their graceful figures, will always avoid greasy meats, even if they really want to eat them.

Ran and Sonoko are different; they readily accept any food that other girls avoid.

Xiao Lan, who practices martial arts, already has higher physical demands than the average person, not to mention that she can exercise to burn off that fat and calories.

Sonoko didn't care at all. So what if she was a little chubby? She could just vent her frustration first.

The barbecue grill isn't just full of meat; there are also vegetables, such as grilled potato slices.

Guangyou also specially brought dozens of skewers of chives for grilling, which is an essential part of Guangyou's barbecue menu.

Ai sat at the stone table, quietly flipping through books under the garden lights.

"Your noodles."

Guangyou placed the noodles in front of her and then sat down.

The barbecue grill was currently occupied by Xiaolan and Yuanzi, so he wasn't in a hurry to grill what he wanted to eat.

"Is there anything to eat?"

Conan pushed open the back door, changed his shoes, and came out. "I suddenly realized I'm a little hungry."

The aroma of barbecue was so strong that it wafted in through the open window, and Conan's thoughts were interrupted by the smell.

Being interrupted didn't matter, since there was no progress anyway. It was just that the emptiness in his stomach made him realize that he was still a human being and needed food to fill his stomach.

Ran placed a plate on the table with three skewers of grilled meat and one skewer of potato slices, and called out to Conan, "Conan, come on, try my cooking."

Conan didn't stand on ceremony and picked up a skewer, putting it in his mouth; he was really hungry.

Xiao Lan asked curiously, "How was it?"

After eating two skewers, he finally took a breath and said, "Sister Xiaolan, it's really delicious."

"Then I'll grill some more for you," Ran said with a smile to Conan, then turned to Kouyu and Ai and asked, "What do you two want to eat? I'll grill some for you."

Guangyou replied, "Anything is fine, I'm not picky."

Ai shook her head, put a mouthful of noodles in her mouth, and said, "I don't need it, thank you."

After receiving a reply, Xiaolan turned around and continued grilling. Watching Yuanzi eat a skewer as soon as she grilled it, she couldn't help but say, "Yuanzi! Grill them all first before you eat!"

"I couldn't resist, I didn't expect the food grilled in my garden to taste so good!"

Sonoko shoved a skewer of grilled meat into her mouth in one bite, stuffing her not-so-big mouth full. Her words were a little muffled as she said, "This is the last skewer."

As she swallowed the meat in her mouth, she let out a rather inelegant burp.

There wasn't much food on the plate, and Conan finished it quickly.

You need to be well-fed to have the energy to think.

After eating a few skewers of barbecue to fill his stomach, Conan continued to ponder.

Thinking about it this way isn't a solution. He had taken some photos with the digital camera he brought with him, and now they could come in handy.

Looking through photos of the scene and evidence, Conan tries to find some clues that might help solve the case.

After watching Ai drink all the soup, Kōyū smiled and put the bowl aside for the time being, planning to put it in the dishwasher later.

Even if you leave it in the kitchen, it's fine; someone will clean it up after you leave the resort.

Kōyū said to Conan, who was deep in thought, "Let's eat barbecue first, and you'll have plenty of time to think later."

Conan nodded, put the photo in his pocket, and sat there waiting for the meat skewers to be grilled.

While the two were chatting, Xiaolan placed a large plate of grilled skewers on the table.

"Alright, here's your barbecue, enjoy."

...

She grilled and ate in the garden. Half an hour later, she got off the grill and slumped into a chair, saying she was so full she felt uncomfortable.

Ran was also chased down by Kōyū. After grilling for such a short time, all the food that was grilled was eaten by Kōyū and Conan, and Ran herself didn't eat much.

Guangyou grilled meat skewers, humming an unknown tune.

Everyone says that barbecue goes well with beer, but Guangyou doesn't like beer. He thinks that barbecue goes perfectly well with iced cola.

The barbecue didn't end until after 10 p.m., and everyone went back to their rooms. Sonoko and Ran also needed to make some plans for tomorrow, as staying cooped up at the resort all day wasn't a good idea.

Back in his room, Conan, dressed in his pajamas, sat cross-legged on the bed. The door opened, and Kōyū walked in.

Have you got any leads?

"No, but every time I see this evidence, I feel that this is definitely a murder case, and the murderer's plan is very meticulous."

Conan stared intently at the evidence photos in his hand. He sensed an opportunity in the photos, an opportunity to find out who the culprit was, but this opportunity was too well hidden, and he hadn't discovered it yet.

His reasoning and observation skills are beyond doubt, but there are only a few clues, and there are no surveillance cameras nearby. This case is not on the same level of difficulty as a normal case.

Guangyou took the photos of the evidence and began to look at them.

The beer cans were taken from the resort, so there shouldn't be any problem.

The rings were also normal; they came in a red velvet box, inside which were two diamond rings, each set with a diamond of about one carat.

The love letters looked normal; they didn't have overly saccharine language, and they didn't give people goosebumps.

“Zhimei, I am very grateful that you are by my side. We have been together for five years. My family does not like the two of us being together, but you did not give up. I am very grateful.”

"I've thought a lot over the past five years, whether it's how to get both of our families to accept each other, or how the two of us will get along in the future."

"After thinking about it for so long, I also feel that it's time to end this kind of life."

"An ending also signifies a new beginning. When you read this letter, you should also see the velvet box containing the ring underneath."

"The name engraved on the ring at that Tokyo shop was so small, I almost thought they were cutting corners on me..."

Upon seeing this, Guangyou stopped. There was nothing much to say about the beer can and love letter, but if an investigation were to be conducted, starting with the ring would be the best approach.

If this is a murder case, then judging from the cause of death, the victim was injected with snake venom in his left arm, and the injection site is probably those two small holes that resemble snake fang marks.

It was definitely not an impulsive crime. Since the snake venom had already been injected, the murderer would definitely stage the scene to make it look like an accident.

Of all the evidence left at the scene, only this ring warrants further investigation. Investigating the customer information for the custom-made ring might lead to the arrest of the real culprit if the scene was staged by the murderer.

Kōyū pointed to the photo of the ring and said to Conan, "Have Professor Agasa investigate the information about these two rings. If all goes well, we might find something."

After hearing this, Conan understood what Mitsuyoshi meant and took out his phone to call Professor Agasa.

I'm not afraid of taking the wrong path, I'm only afraid of having no path to take.
