Tiangou Mountain and Xiaotiangou Mountain differ by only one character, but their status within the mountains is like that of a wealthy family and an ordinary citizen.
The former is located in the southwest of Otaru City in Hokkaido, Japan. It is the highest point in Otaru and offers a panoramic view of the entire city. It is also one of the three major night views in Hokkaido, along with two other locations.
The Little Tengu Mountain in front of us looks rather shabby. It doesn't have the same grand background as Tengu Mountain, and there are hardly any tourists.
However, Xiaotiangou Mountain also has its own characteristics. For example, it is relatively pristine and you can easily see wild animals.
Uncle Mori had no interest in the small animals on the mountain. He looked down at the tourist brochure in his hand and fell silent.
The picture clearly showed a large group of young, beautiful, and energetic college girls, but when he arrived, there wasn't a single one in sight.
This state was only temporary. After Uncle Mori thought of another plan for the day, he calmed down and prepared to climb the mountain.
"Let's go, it's almost time. We should be able to have lunch by the time we reach the top of the mountain."
With that, Uncle Mori, hands in his pockets, walked toward the sign on his own. "You guys wait here for a moment, I'll go check if there are any prohibited items here."
Just then, the door of the wooden house next to everyone was suddenly opened, and an impatient voice came from inside.
"Fine, I'll go, okay? Seriously, what's with the rush?"
A gloomy-looking, muscular man emerged from the doorway, dressed in dark work clothes and carrying a hard hat. He muttered to himself, "What's the rush? There's nobody here."
"Hirai, wait a moment." Behind Hirai was a dark-skinned man of similar build. He said to Hirai, "The location there is very special. You must be careful when you work there."
What was meant to be a caring remark was met with a knowing look from the man called Hirai. He turned to the man behind him and said meaningfully, "Yes, otherwise it would be terrible if another accident happened."
The man behind him, whose face had been honest and kind, suddenly darkened, but he didn't say anything.
"I think my accident is a good thing for you, right?" After saying this, Hirai turned and walked towards the mountain, giving him a sarcastic greeting at the same time, "I'm going to work~"
After listening to their conversation, Guangyou felt that he might understand why no one came to this mountain.
The pictures in the travel brochure may not be wrong; this mountain is indeed very popular with female college students. However, there may have been an accident on the mountain recently.
This has led to the once popular Xiaotiangou Mountain falling to its current state where no one comes.
"Good morning, everyone. My name is Kondo Eiichiro, and I am the caretaker of Kotengu Park."
After a brief self-introduction, Kondo explained to the group, "Because some parts of the handrail at the observation deck are broken, please be careful when you visit and try not to get too close to the handrail to avoid accidents."
After hearing this explanation, Uncle Mori and Ran nodded and thanked him, saying, "Thank you for reminding us, we'll be careful."
"Have a great day." Kondo seemed to remember something, pointed to the sign next to him, and said to the group, "Please do not pick the flowers and plants on the mountain or capture any animals without permission, otherwise we will impose a fine."
"Please rest assured, Mr. Kondo, we're just here for a hike." Uncle Mori pursed his lips. He had come here because he was attracted by the mountain's popularity with female university students and wanted to experience the youthful energy.
Now that the female college students are gone, he simply takes Xiaolan and a few others hiking, since it was something they had discussed yesterday.
As for the plants and animals on the mountain, he had absolutely no interest in them.
After making the necessary arrangements, Guangyou and his group stepped onto the stone steps and headed towards the observation deck at the top of the mountain.
Little Tengu Mountain may not have the same grandeur as Tengu Mountain, but the scenery along the way is still quite beautiful.
Surrounded by green trees, apart from the stone steps underfoot, there was almost no sign of human activity; everything was so natural.
After walking for a while, the stone steps underfoot disappeared, replaced by logs.
The log lies between the upper and lower steps, creating a noticeable difference in height. However, because it is covered in dust and the log is dark in color, it is not very clear unless you look closely.
That's why this mountain path seems to have been formed naturally, quite in line with the natural character of the mountain.
"It's definitely better when there's no one around." Kouyu held Ai's hand and strolled through the mountains and forests, breathing in the fresh air. "If nothing had gone wrong, this road would probably be full of tourists, and it wouldn't be as peaceful as it is now."
While the view from the summit is important, the scenery along the way also has its unique beauty.
He could hear the clear chirping of birds in the woods, smell the delicate fragrance of unknown flowers by the roadside, and feel the warmth emanating from Xiao Ai's palm.
Suddenly, Guangyou felt his heart calm down.
Having lived in the city for a long time and recently experienced the Ferris wheel explosion, Guangyou felt somewhat restless inside.
It turns out that occasional contact with nature has many benefits.
Not only Guangyou, but the rest of the group also felt that they had come to the right place. Without the disturbance of other tourists, they could properly enjoy the scenery instead of admiring the backs of other people's heads.
But Uncle Mori's views differed from others; he felt that he shouldn't have agreed to go hiking in the first place.
He didn't glance at the scenery along the way because he was so focused on climbing the mountain that he simply didn't have the energy to look at it.
