Chapter 623 This place will always belong to you

"Hehe~" Ai smiled faintly, withdrew her hand, continued reading, and said softly, "I told you, you wouldn't understand."

"...."

On this issue, Kōyū didn't want to comment too much, because he genuinely didn't understand it...

I know each word individually, so why don't I recognize them when they're put together?

This is definitely one of humanity's unsolved mysteries.

"Watching TV is definitely more suitable for me." Guangyou stared at the TV and yawned. "Although it's not that funny, it's easy to understand."

"You're watching a really popular thriller/suspense anthology series," Xiao Ai said, glancing up at the TV before returning to her book. "It's not the comedy you're thinking of."

"Isn't that right?" Kōyū looked quite surprised. "I thought they were joking."

"You're way off!" Xiao Ai said. "If the director of this TV series knew that an elementary school student was watching his thriller as a comedy, he would definitely be depressed."

"Well, there's nothing I can do about it. I thought they were joking." Guangyou turned around and glanced at the TV. "No wonder these people had such exaggerated expressions on their faces. I thought they were making such exaggerated faces on purpose to make others laugh."

"..." Ai glanced at Kousuke and said, "Should I say you're thick-skinned, or that you're incredibly brave?"

"You keep reading, I'll keep watching my comedy...thriller/suspense drama," Guangyou changed the subject. "Now that you mention it, it actually does sound a bit scary."

About five minutes later, the plot was getting better and better. While watching TV, Guangyou thought of something. There was an old trick that used to circulate online: take your girlfriend to see a horror movie.

In the usual plot, the girlfriend is usually scared and then snuggles into the boy's arms, preferably saying something like "It's so scary, I'm so scared~" in a cutesy voice.

Next, the boy goes on stage and starts comforting the girl. At this point, he can gently pat her back and softly comfort her, saying, "Don't be afraid, I'm here for you."

However, this method can sometimes backfire. Some timid boys use this method and before the girls are even scared, they end up screaming like ghosts.

He didn't expect Ai to say "I'm so scared" in a cutesy way, but at least she could bury her head in his arms, right?

Thinking of this, Kōyū looked down at Ai, who was leaning against him reading a book, and said, "Ai, how about we watch this comedy...thriller/suspense drama together? It's very well made, the plot is captivating, and the atmosphere of horror is very well done."

"Do you think I don't know what you're thinking?" Ai looked up, her eyes seemingly able to see right through Kousuke's mind. "You were just saying they were acting in a comedy, and now you're saying the movie is scary. Don't you think your acting is really fake?"

"You stay and watch your comedy, I'll continue reading my 'Theory of Relativity'," Ai said, lowering her head to continue reading. "It's decided then."

“…” Guangyou blinked and fell silent.

What if the target isn't falling for it at all?

I need help urgently!

As time passed, the plot was about to reach its most intense moment, a chase scene where people were screaming, but Guangyou's thoughts drifted far away.

"If Ai doesn't fall for it, then I can do it myself, right?"

And so...

"Ai, this drama is so scary!" Kōyū turned to the side, hugged Ai with both arms, buried his head in her hair, and said, "What should I do if I suddenly get scared?"

With such a hug, Ai couldn't read at all, but she wasn't angry; she just felt a little helpless.

Sometimes she felt that Guangyou was quite mature, while other times she felt that Guangyou was really like a child who hadn't grown up.

However, Ai wasn't impatient because she knew that Kousuke only showed his childlike side in front of her.

"You... really..." Ai glanced at the TV. The images were indeed scary, but it wasn't that exaggerated. She didn't believe that Kousuke would be that scared.

"It was really terrifying," Kōyū said, maintaining his previous posture. "My heart is still pounding."

"If your heart weren't beating, you'd be dead by now." Ai hesitated for a moment, then said, "Alright, let go of me, or else..."

“I won’t loosen it…” Guangyou said. “Or what?”

Ai snorted coldly and said indifferently, "Otherwise, I wouldn't have said a word to you until you recited the theory of relativity."

The next second, Ai felt Kousuke let go of her hand. Not only that, she also felt Kousuke lean back into the corner of the beanbag chair.

“Indeed, books are a tremendous force.” Ai looked at Kōyū with amusement and said, “Why did you stop? Is ‘Relativity’ really that scary? I think it’s quite interesting.”

With an extremely strong survival instinct, Guangyou blurted out, "Not as good-looking as you."

"Can I compare to a book?" Xiao Ai thought to herself, feeling both amused and exasperated, but outwardly remained calm and said, "Alright, I won't make you recite 'Relativity' anymore. Come sit down and watch TV properly."

"Oh." Kwang-yu slowly moved back to his original spot and continued watching the thriller, trying to change the subject. "Actually, it was pretty good. For example, the makeup of the slit-mouthed woman was quite nice..."

At the same time, Kōyū secretly glanced at Ai sitting next to him, who was engrossed in reading a book, and breathed a sigh of relief: "At least she's reading. No one can memorize that 'Theory of Relativity' stuff."

"Hmm, she shouldn't be angry." Kōyū's eyes were fixed on the TV, but his left hand secretly made a gesture of hugging Ai, though he never actually put his hands on her.

"To hug or not to hug?"

After a fierce internal struggle, Guangyou finally withdrew his hand and comforted himself, "There are still many days ahead and many opportunities. I can't make a big mistake because of a momentary thought."

"It really is..."

When Ai asked Kousuke to sit back down, she wasn't really reading her book; instead, she was secretly observing him.

When she saw Guangyou wanting to hug her, but then withdrew his hand at the last moment, she felt that she had been respected.

The boy in front of her genuinely cared about her feelings.

Even though this wasn't the first time Ai had learned this, she still felt a warmth rising in her heart, like standing in the warm winter sun.

"I just can't do anything with you." Ai murmured, then put the book aside. She snuggled into Kōyū's arms, buried her head in his chest, and whispered, "I'm a little tired from reading. I'm going to rest for a bit. Don't worry about it."

Guangyou, who was engrossed in the TV drama, suddenly felt the warm and soft body in his arms. After a moment of surprise, a smile bloomed on his face.

Then Kōyū looked down and saw that Ai's delicate earlobes were slightly red and hidden by her brown hair. He couldn't see Ai's face clearly, but Kōyū felt that she was smiling.

Hearing Ai's words, Kōyū slowly reached out his left hand to put his arm around her shoulder, the fragrance emanating from her hair lingering around his nose, and said softly, "You can rest now, this place will always belong to you."
