Chapter 65 Sato is as fierce as a tiger, Takagi is as cowardly as a dog

"Wow! Guangyou, the dishes you made look so appetizing!" Miwako sat at the table, looking at the dishes on the table, her mouth watering.

Smelling the aroma of the food, Takagi couldn't resist the urge to cook it himself.

Guangyou looked at the two of them and smiled: "Alright, let's eat."

Takagi couldn't wait to start eating: "Mmm, delicious!"

Miwako blushed slightly: "Actually, I'm really embarrassed to let a little kid like Mitsuyoshi cook."

Upon hearing this, Guangyou said, "No need, you can eat."

Japan does a really good job in this regard. Many families start cultivating their children's independence from a young age, starting with shopping. So, while Miwako might feel a little awkward about things like cooking, she can accept it.

After Miwako took a bite, her eyes lit up: "It's really good!"

“That’s right!” Guangyou said with great pride.

We didn't make a lot, and we finished eating it quickly.

Guangyou used the excuse of washing dishes to leave the room first.

Takagi originally wanted to go, since the meal had already been cooked, it wouldn't be appropriate to ask someone else to wash the dishes as well.

However, Kōyū took the opportunity to slip Takagi a small note.

After reading it, Takagi's cheeks immediately flushed, and under Kōyū's encouraging gaze, Takagi nodded heavily.

Then, Takagi sat down and looked at Miwako across the table, her face flushing even more.

That blush added a strange atmosphere to the room.

Miwako also sensed the atmosphere in the room, and a blush rose to her face.

After a few minutes, neither of them spoke.

Sato is as fierce as a tiger, while Takagi is as cowardly as a dog.

This sentence perfectly encapsulates the current situation. Miwako spoke first: "Officer Takagi, is there something you want to say?"

After saying that, Miwako could clearly feel the heat on her face.

Miwako's way of addressing Takagi made Takagi pause for a moment, then he nodded, his face flushed.

Then, under Miwako's gaze, Takagi said shyly, "Miwako, I'd like to get to know you a little better."

Although she had always hoped for further development, at this point, Miwako suddenly hesitated, though she couldn't explain why.

The difficult part is always the first sentence. Once you open your mouth and say the first sentence, then saying the rest is not difficult at all.

Just as Takagi was about to continue speaking and try to persuade him, the phone suddenly rang.

Miwako glanced at the caller ID; it was a call to her. She answered, and upon hearing the words on the other end, her expression changed drastically: "What? That gemstone was stolen?"

"Okay! I'll be right there!"

After hanging up the phone, Miwako's blush faded, and she said to Takagi with a serious expression, "Let's go, Officer Takagi. We have a case that needs our help. You heard it too, the gem from eight years ago was stolen by an organization that uses animals as a front. We can't delay, let's get going!"

Actually, the timing of this phone call made Miwako quite happy. She felt that she had some subtle feelings for Takagi, but there was something stuck in her heart that made it difficult for her to think calmly.

If I absolutely have to give an answer today, I will most likely refuse.

The two of them knew what was important and quickly got up and left.

Hiding behind the door and eavesdropping, Miyu's pupils dilated suddenly when he heard Miwako's words: "An organization named after animals?"

During their first meeting, Gin mentioned this organization named after animals. It would have been fine if Mitsuyoshi hadn't encountered it before, but now that he has, he has to go and meet this organization.

Immediately, Kōyū followed and quietly got into Miwako's car.

Miwako drove quickly and arrived at her destination.

When Inspector Megure saw the two arrive, he asked, "Where were you two? I was planning to take you to the hotel; I had prepared a banquet!"

Both of them had a slight flush on their faces. Miwako said, "Inspector Megure, please tell me the situation now!"

“Oh, right!” Inspector Megure straightened up. “From what we understand, this organization used to operate in India and Africa, and only recently started showing signs of activity in Japan. We don’t know why they suddenly stole that gem from seven years ago today.”

"gem?"

“Yes, eight years ago, a farmer found that gem. Later, the police received the gem from Mr. Kuroba Toichi. Shortly after it arrived, rumors circulated that Mr. Kuroba Toichi had died…” Inspector Megure realized at this moment that the question was actually directed at Kosuke.

Approaching Guangyou, she said, "Little Guangyou, what are you doing here? This isn't a place for little kids!"

Kōyū waved his hand: "Ah, I came with Miwako-neechan. Miwako-neechan said she'd take me home after we finish this case. Inspector Megure, please continue. I'm really interested in this gem!"

Inspector Megure continued, "When the police received this gem, they were also puzzled because it looked very ordinary."

"It's an emerald. You could say it's bad, but it's not bad either. It's surprisingly ordinary."

Inspector Megure was also very puzzled by this: "However, in addition to the jewel, Mr. Kuroba Toichi also sent a letter to the police, emphasizing that it must be protected. But even after contacting researchers, there has been no progress. So we put it here on display, just with a few more guards than other exhibits."
