"Use this. Everyone, be careful not to get acute radiation pneumonia. The expedition team doesn't have the conditions to replace you with mechanical lungs."

Walking around the reflector below the skylight, everyone saw a beam of light parallel to the ground. A single night-light plant couldn't illuminate a room, but when accumulated, even a small amount could create a significant glow.

"Old Li, do you think we can still be saved? They're evolving too fast."

"What's the matter? Are you tired of living? Why do you care so much? Future generations will have their own wisdom. All we have to do is leave something for future generations."

"I'm just complaining, and you're not happy about it? And why are you walking so fast?"

"Stop talking nonsense and hurry up. We can't stay here for long!" Li Wenjia inserted the pulse rifle into the holder on his back and pulled out a tactical knife from his leg. He manipulated the exoskeleton to perform a few knife tricks, then held the tactical knife in his right hand.

Upon hearing this, everyone quickened their pace and followed closely behind Li Wenjia.

Not long after, there was a commotion behind them. The mice came out of a hole and gathered near the Noctilucent Grass Farm. They did not feast on the fresh grass, but instead searched around, as if looking for an intruder.

The mice found nothing except two broken canisters.

Li Wenjia led everyone running for about ten minutes. After making sure that no one was following them, he finally stopped.

This was a bend in the tunnel. If the tunnel hadn't come alive in the past few months, this would be the middle of the tunnel. The distant beam of light illuminated this area, and the simple reflectors hanging on the wall were working perfectly. The light cast several long shadows on the people, which swayed constantly as they moved.

This road is blocked.

Further ahead in the tunnel, a large pile of rocks blocked the way. A number of steel pipes were placed in the middle of the rocks, which served as guiding light beams.

Li Wenjia stood at the entrance to the pipe, peering inside but seeing nothing. It was pitch black inside, and the light was too bright where he was. He looked around, then walked to a blast-proof door on the outside of the bend and pushed the doorknob hard. There was a metallic grinding sound, and then, with a tremendous force, the door slowly opened, revealing the scene behind it.

He peeked inside, then quickly slipped in.

"Come on. Go this way."

Another team member's voice came from Li Wenjia's communicator. After a while, not far to his left, an explosion-proof door was slowly pushed open, and an exoskeleton warrior rolled out from the door with tactical movements.

"There's no one here." Li Wenjia used a tactical flashlight to signal in the direction of the soldier.

"Lao Li, when did you...?"

"Isn't this obvious? All living things are attracted to light. It's pitch dark here, how could anyone come here?"

"Is it possible, I mean possible, that the tribesmen are just waiting for us to take the bait?"

"It's possible, but it's unlikely. At least I haven't seen any tribesmen who are old coins... But there are quite a few mutants."

"Nimma, I'm getting nervous!"

"If you're afraid of the dark, you can wait for me here. It should be safer here."

"No, let's go together." The wolf king followed with the remaining wolf cubs. It was indeed too dark here, and they had not yet adapted to the light just now.

Staying where they were was a good option, but there was a swarm of giant rats behind them. They didn't want to waste bullets on those rats. They had enough of edible but unpalatable rat meat.

Just a wall separates day and night.

This was probably the tunnel's maintenance passage; the tunnel for the oncoming lanes was further away. They didn't need to go through here and run to the other side for now. After all, they still had to have some fun on the way back. Li Wenjia estimated that the rest of the journey wouldn't be too unpredictable.

Li Wenjia suddenly stopped in front of the team, bent his body, and was ready to go.

"What's that sound?"

Everyone stopped and listened carefully to the sound in the darkness.

The Wolf King heard Tiedan's stomach rumbling beside him, and the people around him turned to look at him, which made him at a loss as to what to do.

The strange sound was certainly not the ventriloquism of a team member, but some friction sounds coming from the surrounding pipes.

"They're gone, hurry up. What sin have I committed?"

"Brother Ye, do you think the North will really accept me? I've been thinking about this since yesterday. I'm just a farmer, how could anyone want me..."

"That's because they don't know the value! At least you can be worth something... At least you can be a farmer."

It was the pipe that was speaking, which made everyone's hearts scream.

Li Wenjia was seen slowly stepping back, passing through the crowd, and then placing his helmet next to an iron sewage pipe on their right hand side.

The friction sound continued, this time more clearly.

Li Wenjia seized the opportunity, pulled out his tactical knife, and swung it down.

"Bang~"

The huge sound shook everyone's eardrums, and a crack with a metallic luster suddenly appeared on the pipe.

"Huh? Didn't it hit?"

Li Wenjia used his flashlight to illuminate the tactical knife in his hand. There were some scratches on the blade, but overall it was still shiny.

"Bang~Bang~Bang~"
