How should I put it? This is a story about a dumb protagonist who transmigrates to another world, gains superpowers, and then lives a lazy life, interspersed with a bunch of weird things that pop u...
After passing through the fire door and walking down two steps, they arrived at an underground parking lot.
The parking lot was empty except for the carcass of an armored vehicle, lying next to a pillar. The remaining light from the shattered dome of the light well filtered through, illuminating the remains of the armored vehicle.
The monster's broken limbs were spread all over the ground, extending all the way to the entrance and exit of the parking lot.
One can imagine how fierce the battle was at that time. This chariot tried to lure the enemy here, but it seems to have been unsuccessful.
Li Wenjia stopped in the distance. He didn't dare to go forward to check, even though there was no sign of life here.
"We checked. There were explosives in the car. They didn't detonate it in time. It was a big sabertooth. Or maybe it wasn't a sabertooth. It was dead."
Broken Star pointed at the armored vehicle, and no one knew when he learned the information.
"We're going up from here?"
"No, go this way." Changgu continued to lead the way, his figure sinking into the shadows. "At first, we didn't know there was a road here until someone in the tribe heard the news. You can also listen carefully."
Li Wenjia took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. The mist that had condensed in the air immediately floated in front of him and dispersed.
There is indeed airflow here, and the direction is different from the normal situation. Normally, the air in the underground space will move towards the ventilation shaft. The crosswind at the surface will create a low-pressure area, which will naturally draw the gas from the underground upward.
Ahead was a man-made hole, only a few meters long. Bending over, I crawled through it, and suddenly the view opened up.
"Why is it a railway line? Is it necessary for this city to build an underground railway? Where does it lead to? When was it built?" Countless questions popped up in Li Wenjia's mind. It seems that there are still many secrets hidden beneath the surface.
"It's surprising, isn't it? But it's broken in the middle, and this road is blocked. We still have to walk on the surface for a while."
Long Bones greeted the silent young man and pulled a torch from the woven bag on his back. They seemed to be made of telescopic torches, with the cloth wrapped around the top soaked in some kind of sticky fuel. They used a hollowed-out can to protect the top of the torch, making it very convenient for both carrying and using.
"Ding-ling~"
Changgu untied a string of magnesium rods from his waist, and no one knew where he collected them from.
A spark fell on the surface of the torch, and a flame rose up. A bright yellow flickering light source appeared in the subway, illuminating the surrounding area less than ten meters away.
This line hadn't been used for a long time, and a layer of dust had accumulated on the ground. The few people walked along the track in silence, leaving behind a mess of footprints.
There are no forks in the road, no road signs, and not even multiple tracks running in parallel.
This place seems to have been artificially excavated, and there are still traces of steel chisels on the rock wall. Perhaps this is another piece of dusty history. In the glorious years a hundred years ago, countless workers with fire in their eyes created this miracle together.
It's impossible to perceive accurately underground, and for a while, Li Wenjia felt like he was walking downhill. The slope wasn't steep, but the distance was very long. When the feeling of inclination disappeared, he saw that the road ahead was blocked by accumulated water.
"Stop... huh?" He instinctively wanted to call out to everyone, but he saw the long bone in front of him stepping onto the puddle. Without causing any ripples, he just walked onto the surface of the water, or perhaps it should be called the ice surface.
Li Wenjia couldn't make out anything; it seemed as if the water had frozen in an instant. There weren't a single bubble of air in the ice, and he could even make out the frozen rails beneath the water by the light of the fire.
He stepped onto the ice tentatively, and instantly felt the texture of the ice under his feet. Even when it was frozen, it must have still been flowing.
"It's laminar water. The water in the upper and lower layers has different densities."
"So, it's not completely frozen?"
"Yes, and the water pressure in the lower level is quite high. You'll know once you climb over there."
Li Wenjia felt the rock at the top of the tunnel getting closer and closer, and soon they had to bend down. The deepest part of the water was dozens of meters long, and they crawled on the ice for more than ten minutes.
Before Li Wenjia wore out his trouser legs, they finally reached the end of the tunnel.
It was already late at night.
Changgu stuck the torch into the snow, and the flame went out instantly. He watched everyone climb out of the cave one by one and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Look over there. That's the noise you guys made earlier. Be careful. Don't stick your head out."
Several drones hovered in the distance, their searchlights occasionally sweeping across the ground. Li Wenjia took a look and was instantly drawn to an icicle that shot straight into the sky.
"What's that?"
"That's what I call laminar water!"
"He was following your warriors last night, but unfortunately you couldn't get through there. However, the noise you made did attract a lot of thunder and fire, so we can go a little further today."
They emerged from a building very close to it. However, their target wasn't there, but rather an open area directly across from it. The building provided the necessary cover, and the drone flying in the distance wouldn't be able to detect them for the time being.
Li Wenjia didn't know how Changgu and his men had found this path; they clearly hadn't received professional military training. Furthermore, when they found this path, the expedition team hadn't even arrived yet, let alone how the drones had been lured away.
Changgu ignored the buzzing sound coming from the sky, strolled over a snow slope leisurely, and then at a moderate speed, followed the depression in the open ground and got into an inconspicuous bunker opposite.
