How should I put it? This is a story about a dumb protagonist who transmigrates to another world, gains superpowers, and then lives a lazy life, interspersed with a bunch of weird things that pop u...
Li Wenjia pushed open a door, and the wind and snow rushed in from outside. He huddled beside the door and shivered, while the mechanical dog suddenly slipped out through the crack in the door.
The wind was already weakening, indicating that he was running out of time. Although Lin Ke told him not to worry about the hunters, the dog was clearly unable to control the autonomous drone. There was no telling how it would block the attacks.
He gritted his teeth, put the cloth bag in his arms, and then walked out into the wind and snow.
If you have ever experienced going out during a typhoon, with temperatures of dozens of degrees below zero and a dark sky, you will experience what Li Wenjia feels.
The cold wind quickly took away his body temperature, causing his muscles to twitch, his heart rate to accelerate, and his blood pressure to rise. If he were an ordinary person, he might not be able to endure it for a few minutes, but he still walked a hundred steps in the snow.
“Woof woof woof!”
The simulated barking of the mechanical dog came from not far away through the wind and snow.
"Got it. I'm coming."
Li Wenjia muttered to himself as he made his way towards the spot, one foot deep, one foot shallow. His night vision hadn't improved, so he could only rely on the old method of listening to the sounds. Fortunately, the dog's barking didn't stop, so he didn't have to take too many detours.
It was a brand new Gladiator III, with no signs of violent modifications, save for an arm-length stamp on the door that read "Bon Voyage." Its paint job was the original version, an all-army green, making it very conspicuous even at night.
Is it a coincidence?
Once or twice is okay, but there were too many coincidences on this day.
But how can there be so many coincidences in reality?
After meeting Lin Ke, he naturally attributed all of that to Lin Ke. But could that robot, or artificial intelligence, really be trusted? How much information was hidden in its words? He hadn't even figured out who its enemy was!
But Li Wenjia had no other choice. He could only smile awkwardly and open the door of the Fighter.
He placed his important belongings in the back seat behind the driver's seat, which is said to be the safest place in a car. At the same time, the dog slipped through the gap under him and into the car. By the time he fastened his seatbelt, the dog was already firmly seated in the passenger seat.
"Hey, do you know the way?" Li Wenjia asked the dog.
"Woof!" the dog barked.
The machine soul is very happy!
The car started moving on its own without Li Wenjia even pressing the start button.
They drove straight ahead in an unknown direction, ignoring all obstacles along the way. Li Wenjia hugged the steering wheel in front of him, trying to use it as cover, but the obstacles couldn't even break through the windshield. The internal structure of this ATV must have been modified; its engine power was significantly stronger than the original.
Soon, he felt himself climbing a dirt slope, then rushing down it at high speed and arriving at a flat ground. The car then gradually slowed down and finally stopped beside a road sign that was swaying in the wind.
"Woof woof!" The dog barked and then rested its head on its front legs.
Li Wenjia unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the car alone.
In that instant, he was back at the edge of the strike zone. The wind had died down, and the snow was falling quietly. The obstacle courser that had been parked at the bend was now reduced to scrap metal. Around it lay scattered bomb craters, still emitting heat.
Because of the possibility of unexploded bombs, Li Wenjia did not go too far. He stopped on a slope about a hundred meters away and shouted in that direction.
"Is there anyone?"
"Is there anyone else alive?"
Of course there would be no response here, he arrived too late. If he had come earlier, or even a few minutes earlier, he might have encountered two surviving warriors.
He called out a few more times, but all he got in response was silence.
He ventured forward to examine the remains of the battlefield, but before he had gone more than fifty meters, he was forced back by the increasingly approaching noise of drone rotors.
"boom!"
The shockwave of the explosion swept across his back, and hot fragments leaped over where he lay and flew further away.
Li Wenjia climbed to his feet, still terrified. He stared at the fresh crater about ten meters away, tears welling in his eyes. The survival rate of those warriors was practically zero; there was no way they could survive the hunter's attack.
He wiped his eyes with his arm, then ran back to the car quickly. He thought of something.
If this mechanical dog truly had a way to counter drones, then its size wouldn't have allowed it to carry the massive machine Lao Ma had mentioned before departure. Its tentacles were short, and could only protect it from a limited distance. And judging by the freshness of the ruins, there might be other comrades fighting on the return journey.
He must speed up and catch up with them before they lose all their lives!
Li Wenjia gripped the steering wheel tightly. He had just accelerated the all-terrain vehicle to 100 kilometers per hour in just six seconds. The vehicle was incredibly powerful, even on the rough wasteland roads, it managed to reach the speed of a sports car.
He didn't know how such a Fighter Type III was produced. Perhaps the way artificial intelligence looks at problems is really different from that of human designers.
There were many drones with flashing signal lights in the sky, flying over his head, but when they approached his car, they usually fell to the ground along a parabola.
