Chapter 23 Feeding

If he weren't a superhuman or a mutant, then he'd definitely be facing the temptation of a beautiful woman right now.

Fang Rong took a deep breath and left with his adjutant. The adjutant had the title of a soldier, did the work of a secretary, and was paid like a worker. He worked harder than an ox, but he was obviously used to it and kept a very humble attitude. "Come with me."

The dormitories weren't far from here. Presumably to prepare for emergencies, each dormitory was closely connected to the others. The adjutant took out a bunch of keys and handed them to Fang Rong.

"You've arrived at your room." He pointed to a number not far away, "Room 1102. Just bring your things over when you have time."

"Okay." Fang Rong took the key and opened the door. The room was surprisingly large, probably because there were too few elite soldiers and he was going to live with Fang Hua. So it had two bedrooms and a living room, which was much better than the benefits he received at Feiyuan Group.

The adjutant stood outside the door and said politely, "If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."

"Okay." Fang Rong nodded and watched him leave.

His attention was mostly on the new house. Although the room was simply decorated, it was practical. The only regret was that no one had lived there for a while, as there was a thin layer of dust on the floor. The sofas and other furniture were covered with white plastic film, as were the beds.

He tore off the diaper from the bed, but didn't touch anything else, since it was already late and he needed to rest.

Meng Xiuyuan said it wouldn't be too late to get up at noon tomorrow, probably to take care of him, since he had just arrived and they couldn't be too strict with him.

However, Fang Rong was always honest and hardworking. Because he wanted to leave a good impression on the other party, he went to the laboratory early after waking up.

Someone was there even earlier than him. Meng Xiuyuan was holding a milk in one hand and processing documents with the other, occasionally glancing into the room in the distance.

"How is the situation?"

"It's stable now." Because he hadn't slept all night, his adjutant hadn't slept either and was still by his side.

"Hmm." Meng Xiuyuan nodded, then suddenly caught sight of a figure approaching out of the corner of his eye and couldn't help but smile. "Good morning."

He was clearly in a good mood and was very energetic early in the morning.

"It's getting late, it's already eight o'clock." Fang Rong checked the time on his personal terminal.

Meng Xiuyuan put down the milk, his smile deepening. "It seems you can't wait to see your 'comrade-in-arms'."

He put away the documents and stood up. "Let's go, I'll take you there."

"Hmm." Fang Rong was used to being silent, and even though she could hear the sarcasm in Meng Xiuyuan's tone, she could do nothing about it.

"Where is Fang Hua?" He looked around but didn't see Fang Hua, and couldn't help but ask.

"There it is." Meng Xiuyuan pointed to a room that was completely enclosed except for the door. "He hasn't eaten for two days. Take some food with him!"

He was clearly prepared; with a clap of his hands, someone brought out the food, which was quite plentiful, including meat, fish, and duck. "He won't eat what we bring, but he'll definitely eat what you bring."

“Yes, he’s a little shy around strangers,” Fang Rong replied naturally.

He was probably used to the food that Fang Rong brought him, so he wouldn't eat anything that others brought him. Fortunately, Fang Rong was an honest man and rarely took leave during his years of work. The only time he did take leave was when he ate his brothers and sisters.

He was probably really hungry. When he's hungry, he'll look for food, but he won't accept charity from others.

Fang Rong stood at the side door with food in his hands, feeling a little worried. He was afraid that Fang Hua would still hate him, after all, it was his idea that led to Fang Hua's capture. Although joining the military was the best option for him, he didn't want to leave.

Fang Hua seemed to have known he would come, and she pressed her face against the glass door, eagerly watching him.

Behind the glass was a railing. He held onto the railing with both hands, and because he was a bit short, he had to stand on tiptoe to stick his head out.

Meng Xiuyuan, holding a high position, was adept at understanding people's minds. He seemed to have guessed what Fang Rong was thinking and couldn't help but pat him on the shoulder, "Don't worry, Fang Hua would rather hurt himself than hurt you. Of course, if you're still worried, you can ask him to keep his distance from you, and he'll listen to you." But that would be rather hurtful.

Meng Xiuyuan didn't say the last sentence.

Having been a zookeeper for so many years, Fang Rong understands many things better than anyone else, but he still wants to test his place in Fang Hua's heart.

"Fang Hua, step back a little, I'm going to open the door."

Although the door was soundproof, Fang Hua's hearing was very sensitive, and given how close he was, he still heard it and obediently took two steps back.

"Sit down." The reason he was told to sit down was because it would be inconvenient for him to get up, and he wouldn't have a chance to escape. This was what Meng Xiuyuan told him to do. After all, no one could guess what Fang Hua was thinking. What if he was just bluffing and fooling everyone, and then escaped when he opened the door? That would be a waste of effort.

As a high-ranking official, Meng Xiuyuan had to consider every aspect carefully; otherwise, acting impulsively would have cost him his head.

Fang Hua was clearly much simpler than they thought. He had virtually no ambition in life; he just ate, slept, and thought about Fang Rong, in an endless cycle.

He sat cross-legged on the ground as Fang Rong instructed, his expression blank.

Someone opened the bulletproof door next to him. The door was quite low, and Fang Rong had to crouch to get in. Just as he stepped inside, the door behind him suddenly slammed shut, leaving only two people in the room: Fang Rong and Fang Hua.

Fang Rong is introverted and usually tries to avoid bumping into or catching up with friends. But now she didn't know what to say and felt a little awkward.

Fang Hua stood ramrod straight, glancing at him, then at the lunchbox in his hand, then back at him, then back at the lunchbox in his hand, switching back and forth.

His expression was so obvious that even someone as dense as Fang Rong could tell he was hungry.

He waved the lunchbox in his hand, "I brought you food."

The lunchbox was packed in a plastic bag, containing a total of four dishes, two rice dishes, and two cups of milk, the kind you drink with a straw.

Meng Xiuyuan was very thoughtful; knowing that he hadn't eaten either, he prepared enough for two people.

It's not that I didn't want to eat, it's just that I couldn't find the canteen. Although the 3507 unit has few people, the base is quite large.

He took them out one by one, placed them on the ground, broke the disposable chopsticks in half, and handed them to Fang Hua.

Fang Hua was clearly not used to using chopsticks yet. When he was at Fang Rong's house, Fang Rong always gave him a spoon to take care of him. In addition, he liked to put food on Fang Hua's plate while eating, so Fang Hua's bowl was always full. He could just pick at the food with the spoon a couple of times and that was enough.

Now, when I try to pick up a piece of food with chopsticks, it keeps falling out, and I haven't been able to get it into my mouth even after several minutes.

Fang Rong was anxious to help, but she was too shy to do anything intimate with people watching outside, so she could only continue watching.

Fortunately, Meng Xiuyuan was sensible enough to wave everyone else away, leaving only the two of them behind.

Although I knew there were probably still a lot of surveillance cameras in the house, I didn't care since I couldn't see any of the advanced technology.

He put down his own lunchbox and first served food to Fang Hua, knowing Fang Hua's taste, so he only served meat.

Fang Hua held the boxed lunch with a satisfied smile, full of contentment.

"..." Fang Rong's face flushed slightly. "Idiot."
