Chapter 466: Finding Someone

"Hospital?" Chi Wenyan's pupils suddenly shrank, and his heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible hand. The worry surged up like a tide, almost drowning him. "How is she?"

"The specific situation is still unclear. We only know that the person is still in the hospital and seems to be injured." The assistant carefully observed Chi Wenyan's expression.

Before he finished speaking, Chi Wenyan had already stretched out his long legs, grabbed the suit jacket draped over the armrest of the sofa, and strode out with a cold and urgent voice: "Prepare the car, go to the hospital immediately!"

He had never been so flustered before. Countless bad possibilities flashed through his mind, and each one made him feel heartbroken.

That woman, that always stubborn and fragile Ji Wan, what on earth happened to her?

The assistant did not dare to neglect and quickly followed: "Yes, Mr. Chi!"

A black Bentley sped through the city streets in the early morning light, like a flash of black lightning, heading straight for the City Central Hospital. Chi Wenyan sat in the back seat, his face as gloomy as water, his fingertips trembling slightly, and his bottomless black eyes were filled with deep anxiety and a hint of imperceptible fear.

He had to see her immediately and make sure she was safe.

When the car braked suddenly and stopped in front of the hospital gate, Chi Wenyan almost immediately opened the door and rushed into the hospital building with a cold air around him.

He had only one thought at the moment - to find her and make sure she was safe.

Not long after Ji Wan closed his eyes, trying to dispel the fatigue in his body and the dull pain in his heart, the door of the ward was pushed open again at an inopportune time.

This time, there was no knock on the door, only the sound of slightly hurried footsteps approaching from afar.

She suddenly opened her eyes and looked towards the door warily.

When she saw who was coming, Ji Wan's blood seemed to freeze, and then flowed back madly the next second, washing every inch of her nerves.

"Wanwan!"

The man's familiar voice was a little hoarse and obviously anxious. He rushed to the bedside, his eyes bloodshot and a blue stubble on his chin.

The man who was full of vigor and vitality in the past now looked a little embarrassed and haggard.

Chi Wenyan!

This name was like a poisonous sting, piercing Ji Wan's heart and making her breath choke.

"Why are you here?" Ji Wan's voice was icy cold, without a trace of warmth. Every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth, with extreme disgust and resistance, "Get out!"

She didn't even want to look at him any longer. The face that once intoxicated her now only made her feel extremely ironic and disgusted.

Chi Wenyan looked at her face as pale as paper and her eyes filled with hatred and rejection. His heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible hand, and the pain made him almost unable to breathe.

"Wanwan, listen to my explanation, things are not what you think"

He tried to reach out and hold her hand, his voice filled with urgency and panic.

"Don't touch me!" Ji Wan suddenly retracted her hand, as if she had been burned by something dirty. She supported her weak body and stared at him intently, "Chi Wenyan, how dare you appear in front of me? When you were making love with that woman in bed, did you ever think that this day would come?"

Her voice rose with excitement, trembling uncontrollably, her chest heaving violently, and every word she spoke was like a poisoned needle, stabbing Chi Wenyan fiercely and making herself bleed.

"I didn't." Chi Wenyan defended himself hastily, his handsome brows filled with pain. "Wanwan, it was an accident. I was drunk. I had no idea what happened. I swear, you are the only one in my heart, and you have always been the only one!"

He tried to explain, tried to make amends. If it were in the past, that affectionate look might have made Ji Wan soften her heart.

But now, it just made her feel extremely hypocritical.

"Accident?" Ji Wan sneered, his laughter filled with sadness and despair. "You think you can fool me like a fool with just a few words like 'I was drunk' and 'It was an accident'? Chi Wenyan, what do you think I am? A toy that can be summoned and dismissed at will?"

Her eyes instantly turned red, and she had to hold back her tears. She couldn't show weakness in front of this man, absolutely not!

"No, Wanwan, believe me, I really didn't mean it."

Chi Wenyan took a step forward, his tone humble to the dust, "I know I was wrong, I'm a bastard, I shouldn't have hurt you. Please, give me another chance, okay? I really can't live without you!"

He stretched out his hand, wanting to touch her cheek, but Ji Wan turned her head away fiercely.

"I don't accept your apology!" Ji Wan's voice was sharp and resolute, and every word was filled with cold hatred. "Chi Wenyan, from the moment you chose to betray me, our relationship is completely over. Now, immediately, get out of my sight! I don't want to see your disgusting face again."

She pointed at the door, her body trembling slightly with anger. The stabbing pain in her chest grew stronger, almost swallowing her up. She couldn't bear it.

She really couldn't stand this man touching her with the hands that had touched other women!

Chi Wenyan's disgusting face was still standing in the ward, like an lingering shadow, making Ji Wan breathless.

The nausea in her chest surged up again. Looking at him for one more second would feel like torturing herself.

"Wanwan," Chi Wenyan said, his voice hoarse, unwilling to give up, as he tried to approach her again. Those eyes that were once filled with tenderness were now filled with humble pleading and deep, unbearable pain.

"Get out!" Ji Wan screamed, each word coming out as if it were made of ice. "I told you to get out, don't you understand what I'm saying?"

Chi Wenyan froze in place, his tall body slightly hunched, his former high spirits completely gone.

He didn't dare go any further, for fear of upsetting her, but he couldn't bear to leave.

Ji Wan looked at him refusing to leave, and the anger and disgust in his heart almost burst through the sky.

Her eyes fell on the cold needle on the back of her hand, and the medicine dripping down the transparent tube, and a resolute idea grew wildly in her mind.

She would rather leave here than stay in the same room with this man.

The next second, Ji Wan suddenly raised his other hand that was not receiving the IV and grabbed the needle on the back of his hand!

"No!" Chi Wenyan's face suddenly changed, and almost like a conditioned reflex, he rushed forward and held her hand tightly regardless of everything.

His fingertips touched the back of her hand, and the familiar warmth made Ji Wan tremble violently as if she had been stung by a poisonous scorpion.

"Let me go!" Ji Wan screamed, her voice shrill. "Chi Wenyan, you dirty man, don't touch me with your dirty hands."

She struggled violently, but her wrists were tightly clamped by his big, iron-like hands, making her unable to move.
