Chapter 509 Send Him Out of the Hospital

"Fu Chen, thank you so much for this period of time. If it weren't for you, I really don't know how I would have gotten through those days." Ji Wan raised the juice glass, and the gratitude in his eyes was pure and without any impurities.

Fu Chen clinked glasses with her, her figure reflected in his deep eyes: "It's just a small favor. Have you really decided to move out? It would be convenient for you to live in my place." There was a subtle hint of retention in his voice.

Ji Wan put down the cup, but his tone was firm: "Fu Chen, you have helped me enough, I can't always rely on you. Besides, Nian Nian will be discharged soon, I need a home that truly belongs to me and her."

Fu Chen looked at her. His eyes, which always seemed a little distant, were now unusually clear, revealing an unquestionable determination. He was silent for a moment, then nodded. "I understand. Are you settled in your new home? Tell me if you need anything."

"Everything is fine, thank you." Ji Wan curled the corners of his lips, and the smile was a little forced.

She knew Fu Chen's good intentions, but she had to draw a clear line.

A week later, the doctor finally announced that Nian Nian could be discharged from the hospital.

Ji Wan held the now-recovered Nian Nian in her cradle, a mixture of emotions welling up in her heart. Sunlight streamed in through the glass windows of the hospital corridor, falling on Nian Nian's peaceful sleeping face. It seemed as if all the suffering would finally pass.

Chi Wenyan stood beside her, his tall figure blocking some of the glaring light. He reached out to take Nian Nian, but Ji Wan subconsciously turned sideways.

"Let me hold you." She said in a calm voice.

Chi Wenyan's hands froze in mid-air, his eyes darkening: "Wanwan, come home with me."

Ji Wan held Nian Nian in her arms and stopped at the elevator entrance. She turned her head with a cold look in her eyes, "Chi Wenyan, I've already found a place to live. I'll take Nian Nian back to my place."

"Back to where?" Chi Wenyan's voice suddenly tensed, filled with suppressed anger. "Your new residence? No way. Nian Nian just got out of the hospital and is still very weak. She needs the best care. We have a professional confinement nanny at home, Yaoyao, and everything familiar."

"My place, I will take good care of her." Ji Wan did not give in. "Chi Wenyan, the problem between us has not been resolved yet. I don't think now is a good time to go back. Nian Nian, come with me. I will give her all my love."

"All my love?" Chi Wenyan stepped closer, his tall figure carrying a strong sense of oppression. "What about Yaoyao? Wanwan, do you plan to let Yaoyao live with you in that strange place, or do you plan to leave him home alone, asking his mother and sister every day when they'll be back?"

Ji Wan's heart sank. Yaoyao...

She hadn't seen Yaoyao in person for several days and could only see him through video. The child, who was only a dozen months old, needed his mother the most.

Chi Wenyan looked at her wavering expression and slowed his voice, speaking with a hint of tired earnestness: "Wanwan, I know you are still angry with me, blaming me, and hating me. But Nian Nian and Yao Yao are innocent. Nian Nian needs a stable environment to recuperate, and Yao Yao needs his mother. Even for the sake of the children, go home first, okay?"

He reached out his hand, and this time, he gently touched Nian Nian's face, his movements incredibly gentle: "Nian Nian misses her brother too, doesn't she?"

Ji Wan's eyes couldn't help but turn red. Yaoyao's face, which resembled Chi Wenyan but also had a childlike innocence and dependence, surfaced in her mind. She could be as hard as iron towards Chi Wenyan, but she couldn't let go of her concern for Yaoyao.

She bit her lower lip, a complex mix of emotions swirling in her chest.

Seeing that she remained silent, Chi Wenyan's voice became deeper and deeper, with a hint of temptation: "Go home, Wanwan. For Nian Nian and Yao Yao. If there is anything, let's go home and talk about it slowly and solve it slowly. Don't let the children suffer with us."

Nian Nian in Ji Wan's arms seemed to feel the tense atmosphere between her parents. She pouted her little mouth and let out a weak hum.

This groan became the straw that broke Ji Wan's last line of defense.

She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, the ice beneath them had cracked a little. She looked at Chi Wenyan, her voice hoarse and hard: "Only for the child."

A glimmer of relief flashed across Chi Wenyan's deep eyes, and he nodded vigorously: "Okay, just for the child."

He carefully took Nian Nian from Ji Wan's arms, his movements skillful and gentle.

Ji Wan looked at his profile as he held his daughter in his arms. The deep fatherly love in his eyes did not seem fake.

Her heart was in a mess.

In the end, she followed Chi Wenyan, holding Nian Nian in her arms, and got on the car back "home".

The place that once brought her brief sweetness, but then left her bruised and battered.

She didn't know what would be waiting for her when she returned this time.

The car drove into the villa area and finally stopped in front of the house that Ji Wan had once believed would be her lifelong home. Her heart felt heavy, like a huge stone weighing on her.

Chi Wenyan got out of the car first, came around and opened the door for her, and naturally put his arms on the roof to prevent her from hitting her head.

Ji Wan held Nian Nian in his arms, got out of the car without looking at him.

Wang Ma, the family's nanny, had already been waiting at the door, with an obvious joy on her face: "Sir, Madam, you are back, and the young lady is back too."

Ji Wan turned to Aunt Wang, his expression slightly relaxed. "Aunt Wang, Nian Nian just got out of the hospital and is weak. Has the room upstairs been disinfected? Where are her crib and supplies?"

"Don't worry, ma'am. Everything has been prepared as you instructed. The room is ventilated and disinfected every day. The young lady's things are all new or thoroughly cleaned and aired." Wang Ma replied quickly, reaching out to take Nian Nian. "Let me carry the young lady upstairs. You and your husband must be tired from the journey."

Ji Wan glanced at her daughter who was sleeping peacefully in her arms, nodded, and carefully handed Nian Nian to Wang Ma's arms: "Sorry, Wang Ma, it's almost time to feed her. Use warm breast milk."

"Okay, ma'am." Aunt Wang held Nian Nian in her arms and happily walked into the house first.

Ji Wan stood at the entrance, not moving for a moment.

Every corner of this house carries her sweet or painful memories. At this moment, those memories come flooding in like a tide, making her feel a little breathless.

"Mom, Mom."

An urgent call with a baby voice interrupted Ji Wan's thoughts.

A small figure, wearing a cute cartoon onesie, stumbled out of the living room. It was Yaoyao.

Yaoyao opened his arms and rushed towards Ji Wan like a small cannonball.

Ji Wan's heart was instantly crushed by this childish call, and all his hardness and defenses collapsed at this moment.

She squatted down and hugged her son tightly as he jumped into her arms.

"Yaoyao, mother's Yaoyao." Her voice was choked with sobs that she couldn't suppress, and her eyes were instantly moist.

Yaoyao's little head rubbed against Ji Wan's neck, his little hands tightly hugging her neck, accusing her in a sobbing voice: "Mom, you are so bad, don't let Yaoyao, wuwu..."
