Chapter 510 I Don’t Want You

Chapter 510 I Don’t Want You

"No, Mommy didn't abandon Yaoyao." Ji Wan felt extremely distressed and kissed the top of her son's soft head. "Mommy loves Yaoyao the most. I'm sorry. It's Mommy's fault for not being with Yaoyao these days."

Chi Wenyan stood aside, watching the mother and son hugging each other tightly, emotions surging in his deep eyes.

His Adam's apple rolled, but he didn't say a word to disturb the warmth of the reunion.

Yaoyao seemed to want to vent all the thoughts and grievances of the past few days. He hugged Ji Wan tightly and kept muttering in his little mouth: "Mommy, hold me. Yaoyao wants mommy to hold me. Don't leave."

"Okay, mommy will hold you. Mommy won't leave." Ji Wan picked up Yaoyao. This child, who was only a dozen months old, was already quite heavy, but she held him firmly, as if she wanted to embed him into her own bones and blood.

Yaoyao's little face was pressed against Ji Wan's, and her small hands touched her face, confirming that it was her real mother. He burst into laughter, giggling, and his eyes, which looked very similar to Chi Wenyan's, were now filled with a child's innocence and dependence.

"Mom, I'm hungry..." Yaoyao pointed to his little belly.

"Okay, Mommy will take Yaoyao to eat." Ji Wan held Yaoyao and turned to walk towards the restaurant.

Chi Wenyan followed behind them, watching Ji Wan gently coaxing Yaoyao, patiently feeding him complementary foods, playing with building blocks with him, and telling him stories that he couldn't understand but still made him giggle.

The sunlight poured in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, enveloping the mother and son in a warm halo. The years seemed so peaceful that it seemed unreal.

Ji Wan's attention was entirely on Yaoyao. She fed him a mouthful of complementary food and ate a few bites herself.

Yaoyao is very attached to her. Sometimes he wants her to hold him, sometimes he wants her to play with him with toys, and he refuses to leave for a moment.

Ji Wan's heart was filled with her son's attachment. She could be cold and indifferent to Chi Wenyan, but she could not refuse her son's wholehearted dependence on her.

Yaoyao is her weak spot and also her only comfort at the moment.

Chi Wenyan sat at the other end of the table, watching quietly. He didn't try to force his way in, but quietly added some of Ji Wan's favorite dishes and ordered the kitchen to prepare her favorite dessert.

After lunch, Ji Wan played with Yaoyao on the carpet in the living room.

Yaoyao was full of energy. He pulled Ji Wan's hand and asked her to help him build a tall building. He then rolled his little ball to her feet and babbled for her to throw it.

Ji Wan accompanied him very patiently, with a long-lost gentle smile on his face.

Chi Wenyan handled a few work calls and when he came back, he saw Ji Wan holding Yaoyao, patting his back gently and humming a discordant lullaby.

Yaoyao was in her arms, his eyes closed, his little mouth slightly pouting, his sleeping face peaceful.

This scene brought a warm feeling to Chi Wenyan’s heart.

This is home, this is the picture he longs for.

He walked over lightly and lowered his voice: "I'll carry him upstairs to sleep, you take a rest."

Ji Wan glanced at him, did not refuse, and carefully handed Yaoyao to him.

Chi Wenyan took his son in his arms skillfully, and his movements were as gentle as when he held Nian Nian.

Ji Wan watched him carry Yaoyao upstairs with mixed emotions. Putting aside the grudge between them, this man was indeed a dedicated father.

She sat on the sofa, feeling exhausted. Yaoyao's return had slightly relaxed her tense nerves, but when she thought about the problems between her and Chi Wenyan, the heavy burden came back.

"Madam, Miss Zhao is here. She's outside the door. She said she came to see you." Aunt Wang walked in from outside and reported in a low voice.

Ji Wan's brows furrowed instantly.

Zhao Xiyue? What is she doing here?

"Let her wait outside." Ji Wan's voice turned cold.

She stood up and walked towards the villa gate.

Zhao Xiyue went to the hospital but found nothing. The doctor said that Mr. Chi and his family had already been discharged with the little girl.

She was extremely anxious and almost immediately guessed that they had returned to the villa.

She rushed over but was stopped outside by the security guard, who said she could not be allowed in without the owner's permission.

She anxiously called Ji Wan, but no one answered.

Just when she was in despair, the carved iron door of the villa slowly opened a crack, and Ji Wan's cold figure appeared at the door.

"Wanwan." Zhao Xiyue's eyes lit up and she hurried forward. "Wanwan, please listen to my explanation. I..."

"No need." Ji Wan interrupted her, his eyes cold, "Zhao Xiyue, there's nothing to say between us. Don't come here again."

The color drained from Zhao Xiyue's face instantly. She looked at Ji Wan in disbelief. "Wanwan, how could you say that? I was deceived by Su Jiujiu. She said that was the only way to save Nian Nian. I dream of making her pay the price."

"That's your business." Ji Wan's voice was calm, yet it carried a biting chill. "Whoever deceived you, who you seek revenge on, has nothing to do with me. You just need to remember that it was you who pushed me into the abyss."

"But aren't you back now?" Zhao Xiyue's voice was sharp as she became emotional. "Aren't you back together with him and Chi Wenyan? You can forgive him for what he did to you, so why can't you forgive me? I'm your best friend. Everything I did was for you and Nian Nian."

Ji Wan's lips curled up in a sarcastic arc: "I came back for my child. Nian Nian just got out of the hospital, and Yaoyao needs a mother. This is different from forgiving him."

She took a step closer, her eyes sharp as knives. "As for you, Zhao Xiyue, what you call 'for my own good' is that you're colluding with outsiders, plotting against my husband, and ruining my marriage, right? I can't afford a friend like that."

"I didn't. I really was forced into it." Zhao Xiyue cried and tried to grab Ji Wan's hand, but she easily avoided it.

"Go away." Ji Wan took a step back and distanced himself from her. "From the moment you made your choice, we are no longer friends."

"Wanwan." Zhao Xiyue looked at her desperately, "How could you do this to me? You would rather trust a man who hurt you than give me another chance?"

"He hurt me, it was the betrayal and hurt between husband and wife." Ji Wan spoke every word clearly, "And you, Zhao Xiyue, you hurt me, it was the betrayal and abandonment between friends. The nature is different, and the degree of hurt is also different."

After saying that, Ji Wan didn't look at her again, turned around and walked into the door.

With a "bang", the iron gate slammed shut in front of Zhao Xiyue, blocking out all her cries and pleas.

Zhao Xiyue collapsed to the ground, her eyes blurred with tears.

She didn't understand how things turned out like this?

She thought that Ji Wan's return represented a reconciliation, a forgiveness for Chi Wenyan. Then why was there no place for her in this forgiveness?
